KUTNÁ HORA ORGAN FESTIVAL 6TH EDITION 9TH – 10TH SEPTEMBER 2016 KUTNÁ HORA ORGAN FESTIVAL 6TH EDITION 9TH – 10TH SEPTEMBER 2016 You are cordialy invited to the sixth edition of the Kutná Hora Organ Festival! The festival is being organized by the Guide Service Kutná Hora as a closing event of the Kutná Hora Summer project. We aim to present to our spectators an extraordinary music experience in the settings of Kutná Hora´s most beautiful cathedrals as well as to revive the long-standing organ tradition. Beautiful organ music performed by the outstanding French organ performer Elodie Marchal can be heard in Saint Barbara´s Cathedral on Friday the 9th of September at 19:00. On the 10th of September at 14:00, a tour of the Saint Barbara´s Cathedral organ is prepared for all music enthousiasts. The tour guide is highly qualified for the job. Michal Hanuš, organist and manager of the festival, will assume this role. At 19:00, you can visit the concert in the Saint Jacob´s Church, which will be performed by the winners of the organ competition Organum regium 2016. The competition is held every two years in Pardubice and it is organized by the Art School of Pardubice-Polabiny. In 2001, she won two awards in Reims, Piano´s Concert Diploma for piano and Organ´s Accessit of Improvement for organ. She has worked with many famous organists, such as Michel Chapuis, Bernard Hasse, Eric Lebrun, Michael Radulescu, Louis Robiliard, Wolfgang Zerer, as well as many famous pianists such as George Pludemacher or David Sellig. In 2003, she resumed her studies at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. She has studied under Olivier Latra, Michel Bouvard, Thierry Esciacah or Philippe Lafevre. In 2006, she won first prize for Basso Continuo and in 2007 she has succesefuly passed the organ exams. She performs regularly as organist, pianist and choir singer. Elodie also works at the conservatoire in Châlons-en-Champagne. KUTNÁ HORA ORGAN FESTIVAL 6TH EDITION 9TH – 10TH SEPTEMBER 2016 Saturday 10th September 2016, 14:00 St. Barbara´s Cathedral Guided tour and a short performance Michal Hanuš Michal Hanuš was born in 1980 in Vrchlabí. He started studying music at the conservatoire in Pardubice under Václav Rabas. From 2004 he studied at the Academy of Performing Arts (AMU) in Prague under prof. Jan Hora. During his studies, he took part at interpretative courses in Prague (Martin Sander), in Germany (Harald Vogel, Martin Sander) and Norway (Guy Bovet). He also had the experience of two international internships, one in Oslo (Terje Winge) and one in Stuttgart (Ludger Lohmann). He was also the Honorable Mention of the 2006 Prague Spring music festival. He often performs works of contemporary composers – Lukáš Sommer or Jan Dušek. Currently, he works as organist and music teacher in Kutná Hora.
