SPRINGFIELD PARK DISTRICT ANNOUNCES CONTINUATION OF THE
MUSIC IN THE PARK SERIES FOR 2013
In conjunction with Capitol Radio Group, the Springfield Park District is proud to
announce the 2013 Music in the Park concerts. These events are made possible by the
following sponsors: King Technology Inc., Maintenance Supply Corp., MASCO
Packaging and Supply, Springfield Parks Foundation, County Market, Blue Cross Blue
Shield, Arnold Monument Company, Green View Nursery, Maurer Family Dental,
Pleasant Nursery, Capitol Blueprint, Mam/Comm1 Services, My Friend’s Discovery
Center, Qik N EZ, Representative Raymond Poe, PH Broughton and Sons, BUNN, Ace
Hardware, George Alarm Company Inc., CEFCU, and Illinois National Bank.
The first Music in the Park event will be on Sunday May 19th at Lincoln Park, from 4
PM until 7 PM. This event will feature classic rock with The Aspect (Beatles) and
Harmony Deep.
Music in the Park is a fun family-oriented series of musical events that are held at
various parks throughout the community. The Park District hires a professional sound
production company and books favorite local bands to perform live and on stage. A
food vendor is on site serving food and cold (non-alcoholic) beverages. These events
are completely free. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for their
convenience.
