HISTORY
Heinkel begun a new lighter project designated He 100 in 1936. Its speed should have been Iremendous - 700 l<ph (37a Ms). Drawings were finished in
May 1937, the lint He 100V-1 prototype made Us maiden flight on January 22,1938. Another prototypes, V-2 and 3, were fnished soon. He 100V-2
overcame land-based aircraft speed record (held by Italians) on June 5,193». w«i 834.73 kph. Four other prototype* were butt - V-4. S, 6 and 7 - fcf
purpose* of planned He 100B model production. Ten pilots were knpreoed by ine speed but were cernplaMng of »» large wing load and bad
raaneuverabety. Heinkel therefore gave up the He 100B production and performed numerous Improvements. The wing was redesigned. It* span was
enlarged, Insufficient surface evaporation cooling was replaced by a cooler under tha fuselage The new version we* designated He 100D. Another
prototype, V-s, was produced. It reached a record speed of 746.60 kph on March 30,1938. Three He 100O-0 and twelve production He 10OD-1 were
•niahed. In iprte of the performance overpowering standard 8110BF lighter. He 100 mass production was never approved. Six prototypes were sent to
(he Soviet Union and three preproduction D-O to Japan. Twelve production He 1000 served with main plant defense unit in Rostock-Marienche. The He
1000 (designated He 113 for propaganda reasons) constituted a kind ot mystery tor the rest of the war. Although oaneralty believed to attain service
status, K was never used operationaJy.

Im Jahre 1936 begann die Firma Heinkel mil der Entwicklung einet neuen JagdHugzeugs He 100, das lur eme in der damaligen Zert unglaubliche
Geschwindlglfe* von 700 knvn entworfen wurde. Die Zstehnungen fur dieses neue Fkigzeug wurden Im Mai 1937 beendet und der erste Prototyp
untemahm winen Erstflug am 22. Januar 1938. Bald danach wurden auch die Prototype VI und V2 gebaut He-100 V2 brach am 5. Juni 1938. mil einer
Geschwindigkeit von 634,73 km/h den gultigen, durch die Italwnner erzielten Rekord fur Bodenflugzeuge. Es wurden 4 wetore Prottrype-He-100 V4,
VS. V6 und V7. die fur die Erzeugung des entworfenen Mod**; He-1008 benOtzt werden soHen, gebaut. Die VersuchspHolen waren von der
Geschwindigkeit des He-100 Flugzeugs begetstert, beklaglen sxf. jedoch uber eine zu qrosse Flachenbelastung des Ftogete und schlechte Manovriertahkjkelt. Die Firma Heinkel hat deshalb den Bau von He-100 B autgegeben und grosse Anderungen des Projektes vorgenommen, urn die Eigenschaften
des Flugzeugs zu verbessem. Der Rugel wurde neu konstruiert, die Spannwerte aut 9.40 m ertioht. die ungenugende Kuhking mtt Hilfe einer
OberUchenabdamplung durch einen im Rumpfbauch unterbrachten Kunwt ersem. Dieee version wurde He-100 0 bezeichnet. Inzwischen wurde ein
weiterer Prototyp He-100 V8 gebaut. der am 30. Marz 1939 eine Rekordgeschwindigkeit von 746.60 km/h erziette. Es tolgte die Erzeugung von drei
H.-10OO O und 12 He-10D-1 Serienfluzeugen Trotz besseren Leislungen als beim Standardtagdflugzeug Bf 109 E wurde die Grosssehenerzeugung
des Type He-100 nfcht genehmigt. Sechs Prototype wurden in die Sowjetunion und drei vorserkwi He-100O-O an Japan verkauft. Zwolf He-tOOD
Senenflugzeuee wurden In eine zweitrangige. fur die Verteidigung der Hauptfabrik in Rostock-Marienehe besbmmie EJnheit eingereihL Das Einsitz Jagdflugzeug He-1 OOD war wahrend einer langeren Penode des Kneges e« aitsel. Aus propagandistischen Griinden wurde as als .He-113" benannt.
