Frameless stereotactic biopsy
system
The process of an intracranial probe extraction in
combination with a navigation system requires a high
level of precision from the navigation system as well as
from the instruments to reach all kinds of pathological
processes.
The precision for this procedure is already given by the
applied navigation system. Due to this, there is a
special challenge in development and constuction of
an instrument set for biopsy extraction, because the
instruments require a minimum of tolerances for an
exact positioning in the centre of the pathology.
The Richard WOLF FRAMELESS PE-System is an
universal applicable biopsy system which allows an
exact positioning of various instruments for probe
extraction. Thereby all kinds of navigation systems can
be used.

During the workshop, you will be able to get hands on the following:
- new water jet dissection method using the ERBEJET 2 device on various tissue types
- bipolar coagulator with minimal thermic influence on surrounding tissues with new types
of bipolar coagulation forceps
- microsurgical cutting and coagulation
- argon plasma coagulator, its usage modes and the use in neurosurgery
T he workshop will follow a presentation of professor Oertel: “Water Jet Dissection in
Neurosurgery – current experimental status and clinical data with specific reference to
vascular and skull base aspects.” During the practical part, it will be possible to learn about the
ERBE workstation containing a VIO 300D electrocoagulator, an argon plasma coagulator APC
2 and a water jet dissection device ERBEJET 2.

If you arrive later or leave earlier than the originally booked dates, the total accommodation
amount will be charged and no refunds can be made. Please do not send any correspondence

LIABILITY
T he Organizing Committee and Workshop Secretariat will not be liable for personal accidents,
loss or damage to private properties of the delegates during the workshop. Participants should
make their own arrangements with respect to personal insurance.

The main advantage of the Czech Republic is the wealth, diversity and accessibility
of cultural, historical and natural places of interest, all concentrated in a relatively small
space that boast very serviceable standards of accommodation and dining facilities.
Prague is a very popular tourist destination. The Marriott Hotel, located in the historical
center of the city, just few steps from the Old Town Square and other tourist attractions
and monuments was selected as a venue for this workshop.

WEATHER IN JUNE
T he Czech Republic is located on the borderline between two great climatic regimes,
the oceanic and the continental, and the weather consequently tends to be fairly variable in
