KiT V 2013
„Chcete li Boha rozesmát, udělejte si plány“ … tak takhle nějak jsme dopadli s naším
plánováním na rok 2013.
V dubnu jsme pečlivě vybrali pro KiT nové tváře a jejich sponzoring se měl zakrátko
rozběhnout. Ze tří finálně vybraných studentů ale nakonec nastoupila na soukromou
vyšší střední školu Majengo, kterou jsme pro KiT předem zvolili, pouze dívenka
Rosemary Mushi.
V současné době je Rose v prvním ročníku na studiích A-level a skvěle prospívá.
Máme od ní již několik emailů a zpráv a zdá se, že je školou nadšená a opravdu
šikovná. Rose jsme v květnu zaplatili první semestr a zkraje ledna 2014 i druhý.
Během roku se ukázalo, že pro Rose je velmi náročné každodenní dojíždění, na druhý
semestr jsme se proto rozhodli zaplatit jí jednoduché ubytování (hostel) poblíž školy.
Zbývající dva studenti Bernard a Fidelis nakonec naši nabídku sponzorství odmítli.
Dlouho čekali na výsledky přijímacího řízení do státních škol, kde doufali v ta nejlepší
umístění, ale bohužel se mezitím soukromé střední školy už neúprosně rozběhly.
Navíc nesouhlasili s tím, že jim v prvním semestru nezaplatíme hostel, protože už
nechtěli zůstat doma u svých rodin.
Po tomto „2/3 neúspěchu“ se středoškoláky jsme zvažovali, co dál. Nakonec jsme
dospěli k závěru, že by bylo dobré dotáhnout sponzorství Agness, Augusta a
Gregoryho do dobrého, „akademického“ konce. Než však mohlo být vůbec nějaké
pomyšlení na universitní studia, museli August, Gregory a dokonce i Agness na
povinnou tříměsíční vojenskou službu. Po jejím skončení na konci září se naplno
rozběhl přijímací proces na university a my čekali na zprávy.
Nakonec to dobře dopadlo! Všichni tři byli na školy přijati a od státu obdrželi (skoro
dostačující) půjčky na studia. Nyní to již nejsou granty jako dříve, ale půjčky, které po
studiích budou Muset splácet.
Agness Ngowi přijali na Muhimbili University of Health and
Allied Sciences (MUHAS) do tříletého programu Bachelor of
Science in Radiation Therapy Technology. Získala půjčku od
vlády ve výši 4,11 mil. Tsh. Od KiTu dostala z našich tří
vysokoškolských studentů vzhledem k okolnostem nejvíce
peněz, a sice 978.400 TZs (cca 12.060czk). Větší část těchto
peněz je ale jednorázová platba na celé studium, stejně jako u
Augusta a Gregoryho. Jedná se zejména o peníze na výzkum či

studijní materiály. V příštích letech by proto měla být celková částka na jejich
podporu nižší.
Gregory Lyima byl přijat na University of Dar Es Salam na
College of Natural Applied Sciences (UDSM(CONAS)). Bude
studovat ve tříletém programu Bachelor of Science in Actuarial
Sciences (pojistná matematika). Od vlády dostal půjčku 2,86
mil. Tsh, což je o něco nižší příspěvek, ale na místní poměry
stále velice slušný. Po propočtu a posouzení okolností jsme
Gregorymu zaslali 843.600 TZs (cca 10.400czk).
August Ngowi byl přijat na univerzitu v Dodomě, na
College of Health Science (UDOM(CHS)). Bude studovat
v pětiletém programu „Doctor of Medicine“. Splnilo se mu
tím velké přání – vždy chtěl být lékařem. Od vlády dostal
půjčku ve výši 4,33 mil. Tsh. (zřejmě jsou medicínské obory
štědřeji sponzorovány), což je velice pěkná částka, bohužel
ale stejně nedostačující. Z peněz KiT jsme mu po pečlivém
propočtu doplatili dalších 529.600 TZs (cca 6.530 czk), aby
byl schopen dokončit svoji registraci na universitě.
V úplném závěru roku jsme se nám podařilo pomoci
ještě jedné dobré věci pod křídly KiTu. Stále s námi
byla v kontaktu Lydie Temba, kterou mnozí spíše
pamatujete jako „Kaznungu“. Lydie se již delší dobu
snaží dostat na College a postoupit tak dále
v akademickém a vlastně i v běžném, životě.
V druhé půli prosince se ji otevřela možnost začít
studovat na Mkomindo College of Nursing in Mtwara
na zdravotní sestru, po čem vždycky toužila!
Certifikovaný kurz na této školš je na dva roky,
diplomovaný pak na tři. Po krátké poradě zde v ČR jsme se rozhodli ji znovu otevřít
dveře ke studiím a lepší kvalifikaci a sponzorovat ji. Celkově od nás Lydia obdržela
700.000 Tsh (cca 8.750czk), což byly výdaje na cestovné, zdravotní poplatky a část
školného na první semestr.
Ke konci roku 2013 jsme se také domluvili, že pomůžeme neziskové organizaci
„Home-Start
Tanzania“
(HoSt
TZA,
http://www.home-start2
tanzania.cz/news/webova-preze), která je založená a registrovaná v Tanzánii. Existují
od roku 2009 a tutorem pro pracovníky v Tanzánii je HoSt Home-Start Česká
republika www.hostcz.org. Vedoucím projektu v ČR je Alžběta Candia Muñoz, rozená
Klégrová (v Tanzánii Anna Kimambo). Je to dobrovolnický projekt na pomoc rodinám
ohroženým extrémní chudobou. V průběhu doby se projekt rozšířil a zaměřil se
zejména na pomoc dětem z těchto rodin, především na jejich předškolní vzdělávání,
aby měli lepší šanci obstát ve školském systému v Tanzanii. V tomto úsilí se
významně potkává s KiT, které se rovněž snaží o podporu kvalitního vzdělávání dětí.
Tento projekt neměl a stále nemá svůj vlastní účet zde v ČR, na který by mohli dárci
hlavně před koncem roku přispívat. Pod hlavičkou KiT jsme proto pro ně otevřeli
druhý účet, který necháme založený do té doby, dokud si HoSt zřídí IČO v ČR
(případně déle, pokud se spolupráce osvědčí). Náklady na nutnou administrativu nese
výlučně HoSt TZA a oba projekty zůstanou na sobě nezávislé, jak finančně, tak
projektově.

KiT V 2014
V roce 2013 jsme započali pět nových projektů a ty zůstanou v běhu i po celý rok
2014. Máme tři studenty na Universitách (Agness, Gregoryho a Augusta (AGA)) v tříaž pětiletých studijních programech. Dále sponzorujeme jednu studentku na
dvouletém A-levelu (Rose) a jednu na College (Lydii) při tříletém studiu.
Na počátku roku 2014 jsme měli na účtu cca 60.000 czk (k 31.3.2014 je to již 76.000
czk). Platba za účetnictví by určitě neměla přesáhnout více než 10.000 czk. Od
počátku roku tak máme volných 50.000 czk (nyní na počátku 04/2014 tedy cca
66.000 czk).
Přesné informace o platbách na studia zatím nejsou známy, a tedy můžeme pouze
odhadovat. Platby na university pro AGA odhadujeme na maximálně 18.000 czk,
protože větší část (nepravidelných) plateb již byla uhrazena v 2013. Druhý semestr
prvního školního roku pro Rose, který již běží, byl již uhrazen. Očekáváme tedy v roce
2014 platbu za první semestr druhého školního roku, cca 7.000 czk plus hostel na oba
dva semestry - 10.000 czk. Dohromady pro Rose tedy 17.000 czk. Pro Lydii je to
opravdu jen hrubý odhad, a to cca 15.000 czk. Pro Rose a Lydii máme ještě
nedoplatek za rok 2013 (pro Rose za hostel a Lydii za školné, dohromady cca 5.000
czk). A nesmíme zapomenout na našeho tanzanského koordinátora Emu – tomu
zaplatíme cca 5.000 czk.
Celkový odhad našich finančních výdajů na tento rok je cca 60.000 czk.
Je tedy na zvážení, zda přibrat dalšího nového studenta(ku). Čas na výběr stále sice
máme, ale není ho již mnoho. Pokud by to měla být opět studia na A-level Majengo

vyšší střední škole (tak jako studuje Rose), byly by roční výdaje cca 24.000 czk
(školné a ubytování v hostelu).

Hi Agness, Gregory, August, Rose and Lydia,
How are you all doing? I have decided to write a general email to all of you so that you can know each other (if you
would be interested) and to ensure that you all receive the same information from us.
Some of you are at the University (Agness, Gregory and August), some at the college (Lydia) and at the Secondary
School (Rose). Therefore it is obvious that you are all in different fields and schools.
It has been a while since you last received a formal email/ letter from us, otherwise, we do try to keep contact either
by phone or through Facebook. The aim of this letter is to greet you all and give you some brief update from our side
here in Prague and remind you key facts about KiT.
Just a quick reminder.
What is KiT?
KiT (Komensky in Tanzania) is a non-profit making organization, based in the Czech Republic, Prague. The core aim of
KiT is to financially support talented Tanzanian students towards their education through friendship. The word
friendship is used because KiT is formed by a group of self-motivated friends in the Czech Republic who through trust
and friendship, sponsor talented Tanzanian students. This project is working from December 2006.
KiT is currently supporting five students in Tanzania (YOU = our ambassadors). We are also working closely with one
co-coordinator in Tanzania, Emanuel Temba, our key contact during the selection procedures of new students and
handling the finance in Tanzania side.

On Sunday 13.4.2014, we will hold our General Meeting. We usually hold this meeting once a year, where all
sponsors are invited. The aim of this meeting is to provide to all your sponsors, information about you (your school
life and progress), the running of the organization here in Czech (administratively and finance reports) future
planning (possibility of choosing new candidates) and so on.
Apart from this meeting, we do hold regular meetings among the coordinators and also send regular newsletters to
the sponsors.
Why am I telling you this? Well, it is because we would appreciate some INFORMATION from youJ. It has also been
a while since we heard about your progresses and future plans. The quick information in the Facebook is good, but a
more detailed info would be perfect, so that we can also keep our website up to date.
Therefore, please try to send us (each of you) an email with your updates. What you are doing now, how is life in the
school (University), your plans, photos etcJ. I know it is kind of quick, but It would be great if you could send your
emails to me, latest Friday 11.04.2014. I am sure you will manage as it is three weeks from now and you are all
bright hard working studentsJ.

Hi Kit members
hope you are all fine doing well in your daily activities we
closed the university for two weeks but now we are back to
the university for the second semester.
I hope you all know that am taking bachelor (doctor of
medicine) here at Dodoma university.
We finished our first semester and it comprises of three courses and that is Human Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry and
Communication skills. We did many test during that semester in those three courses and the results in those test was not
that bad but the final exam was somehow difficult but I tried my level best to ensure that I will pass that exam.
Through the three courses I knew many things that are very interesting and also much important in my occupation as a
doctor to be.So we are now waiting for the exam results as the teachers still prepares them but they will be out soon.
If god wishes I hope that I will graduate in the year 2018 for my first degree in doctor of medicine.In my plans I want to
become a great doctor so in order to accomplish that I have planned to take my masters just few years(3 or 4) after my
first degree then after that I will be much comfortable but it will not be my end I must look forward for more studies in order
to accomplish my goals that is to ensure that I wont end up only in my first degree. I great ambition is to become a great
''cardiologist'' that is a physician specialized in cardiology(heart disease treatment).
In association with my friends(Gregory,Agnes and others) we will ensure that those who want to study and they don't
have an ability to run their academic cost get their basic right of education in order to create a future educated generation
for the benefit of the country and the world at large.
Me and the my family in general appreciates your participation in my academic acquirement.I want to ensure that I wil l
perform better in my studies in order to help others as you have done to us.

First of all let me send my special gratitude to all kit members
particularly our sponsors. I was so happy when i received email
from you requires me to say anything about my school life
briefly. We have opened second semester officially and studies
are going on well. Addition to that i shall post my address and
password soon so that you can sight my first semester results through our University website. School life has many
challenges and as a student who want to accomplish his or her dreams hard working is only way that can make
it.''Nowdays Education is the only powerful weapon that can liberate people from any obstacle''. For that case i would
like again to appreciate your contributions towards us and for me it's like Lucky. My family and relatives are sending
there endless thanks.Let me express my challenge that faced me during my first semester. I came and realize that
among important things that a student is supposed to have in high level learning institutions is personal computer
(laptop). Lecturers used to foward notes and other learning materials to student's emails interms of softcopy.During test
or exams preparations it becomes difficult to revise them and even if you will request from friends at that time they are
busy revising. That is the only challenge that i have. Though it's hard but am trying to find money 350 U.S.A dollars that
is like 525000 Tanzanian shillings that can save me from this problem.
My plans now is to study hard and once i finish this semester on July i shall have 2 important things to do.Since we shall
have 3 months as holiday i shall spend one month for reseach studies and remaining two months i shall study computer
programs to wide my knowledge. As all we know science and technology is a sounding topic world wide.
I have sent my photos which show me and my mother, friends and myself.I thank you again and again and again. May

Hello dear friends!
It's my pleasure to hear from you. Am fine and am
going on well with my studies at Muhimbili University
of health and allied sciences and Ocean road cancer
institute. Am in a class of four University students
and am the only one direct from school others are in
service.Am currently doing Radiation Physics and Professional Ethics at Ocean Road Cancer Institute and the
rest(Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Development Studies) at Muhimbili University.This is because my three
years degree course is basically on how to treat cancer using radiations. Currently Muhimbili University is the only
University in Tanzania teaching Radiotherapy. There is a coordination between Muhimbili University and Ocean Road
Cancer Institute that's why i registered at Muhimbili University and am capable of taking my studies from both places.
Am done with the first semester which ended on march 2014 and i have passed to proceed with the second semester
which is on right now.It is going to end up on August 2014 then i will proceed with second year at the beginning of
October 2014 .Life at the University is good but it real needs someone to be very smart in terms of everything. There are
few challenges am facing but the biggest one right now is spending more than planned budget in stationary services and
internet services where by this can easily get solve by a laptop. Laptop will reduce the amount of money spent in taking
lots of hard copies and rather get the notes and books in terms of soft copies. Also would reduce the amount of money
spent in internet cafe as the University provides free wireless internet service for those with laptops. As i always follow up
to see what other University students are doing over the World, get and solve questions from Google Scholar for
different subjects.
My Future Plans are;After my graduation on 2016 i will be required to do my internship for one year and then get
employed.I would prefer to work for a maximum of two years. Thereafter i would like to hold the second degree(masters)
in Radiotherapy or nuclear physics.
Finally,I would like to congratulate and thank you for your support it's really of great help to me,my family,relatives and
Tanzania as whole . Without you i would have not reach this step. Am always there to make sure i don't let you down.

Dear members of KIT
Hope all of you are fine and continue well with daily
activities, back to me am good an continue well with my
studies.
Aim of writing this email is to greet you and to tell about my
progress of school. First of all i apologize you because sometimes i fail to communicate with you due to school time
school time table that does give a chance as we tend to back at 05;00 pm in hostel which is somehow far from the town
where i can get internet services.
About the studies, i am continue well to study hard so as to perform well and reach my goals as it remains two
months for us to enter in form six. Now i am at home since we close the school two weeks for Easter. Before we close
the school we did a midterm exam but the results we will be given soon after opening the school. Also at JUNE we will
sit for annual exam which will determine us to enter in form six.
In our school, environment is good for studying since we have good library and enough teachers. But there is small
challenges which i try to overcome it so as i can do better in my studies.
The big challenge which i face is at hostel since 200,000 is not yet paid for me to finish form five. Nowdays they
tend to ask me about their money and they will return me at home if i will not pay it at a right time.
Its my hope that God will protect you so that you can continue to help me and other.
