Figure 1
STEP 1:
Using four M4 X 10 FHCS (item 11), mount the Motor Mount (item 7) to the
Castle 20XX Motor as shown in figure 1.
Figure 2
STEP 2:
With the three M3 X 12 BHCS (item 16), mount the Bearing Ring (item 2) to
the Drivers Side Mount Plate (item 1) as shown in figure 2.
Figure 3
STEP 3:
Assemble the FG Stock Spur Gear, Shaft, and Bearing onto the Driver Side
Mount Plate (item 1) as shown in figure 3.
STEP 4:
With the M10 X 20 BHCS (item 12) and the 10mm Lock Washer (item 13)
mount the Bearing Retainer (item 5) onto the Passenger Brace Plate (item
6) as shown in figure 4. Make sure the Bearing Retainer is seated fully into
the Passenger Brace Plate. Place the other stock bearing into the Bearing
Retainer.
Figure 4
STEP 5:
Using three M5 X 16 BHCS (item 9) mount the Passenger Brace Plate onto
the Mount Block-Passenger Side (item 4) as shown in figure 5. The Passenger
Brace Plate position on the Mount Block may need to be adjusted at a later
time.
Figure 5
STEP 6:
With three M5 X 12 BHCS (item 10) mount the Driver Side Mount Plate onto
the Mount Block-Drivers Side (item 3) as shown in figure 6. The Driver Side
Mount Plate position on the Mount Block may need to be adjusted at a later
time.
Figure 6
STEP 7:
Use the two M5 X 10 BHCS (item 10) and M5 star washers (item 18) to hold
the Motor Mount to the Drivers Side Mount Plate as shown in figure 7. Be sure
to not tighten these screws right now. Note: Make sure the motor wires are
facing upward when mounting the motor.
Figure 7
STEP 8:
Slide the Castle 16T, 1.5 MOD Steel Pinion over the Motor Shaft. Align the
set screw with flat on the motor shaft as shown in figure 8. Tighten the set
screw to secure the pinion.
STEP 9:
Figure 8
Set the gear mesh by slightly tightening the top M5 X 10 BHCS. Tap or roll
the motor closer to, or further from the spur gear. When desired gear mesh
is achieved, hold the motor in place and tighten both M5 X 10 BHCS. Check
gear mesh to ensure the motor didn’t slide when tightening.
STEP 10:
Place the assembled motor mount onto the chassis. Using two M5 X 16 BHCS
lightly tighten the Mount Block-Drivers Side onto the chassis as shown in
figure 9.
Figure 9
STEP 11:
Slide the stock drive pinion over the drive shaft and then the Nylon Bushing
(item 8) as shown in figure 10.
STEP 12:
Slide the Passenger Brace Plate assembly under the back of the motor as
shown in figure 11. Make sure the drive shaft slides securely into the bearing
inside the Bearing Retainer.
Figure 10
STEP13:
Mount the Passenger Brace Plate assembly to the chassis using two M5 X 16
BHCS as shown in figure 12.
STEP 14:
Figure 11
Use the slotted holes on the bottom of the chassis (if available) or the slotted
holes in the Driver Side Mount Plate and Passenger Brace Plate to adjust the
drive train gear mesh.
STEP 15:
Attached the Castle 2028 Fan Shroud to the Castle 20XX Motor as shown in
figure 13.
Figure 12
STEP 16:
With two M3 X 8 BHCS assemble the ESC Mount Brace (item 22) to the ESC

STEP 17:
Attach the ESC Mount Plate assembly directly above the drive train using
stock FG Philips head screws. Make sure the ESC Mount Brace is facing
toward the front of the vehicle.
Figure 13
