Tips for trips
the Region of Smetana
and Martinů
Contents
Dear readers,
dear cycle touring friends
We are pleased that your interest in cycle tourism has
induced you to pick this brochure full of tips and ideas for
cycle trips in the region of Smetana and Martinů. It is
a region of beautiful unspoiled nature, known for
interesting folk architecture, historical sights and unusual
natural sceneries. The cycle trips are carefully chosen to
lead you to the most beautiful places of our region
however they remain mere hints.
In the respective maps to each of the trips you can find
next to the main rounds also small paths and roads (some
of them marked) that can be used to shorten the planned
route in case of bad weather, tiredness or other
unexpected circumstances. In the same way you can plan
a family trip with small children and decide beforehand
which routes to take to make the trip shorter.

In 14 towns and villages of the Region of Smetana and Martinů we have put
up tourist reference boards where every visitor can find a map of the microregion with the whole net of marked cycle paths. There is also a map of the
concerned town or village where interesting sights, bus or train stops and most
important tourist services (e.g. restaurants, car repair shops and recreational
facilities - sport grounds, swimming pools, natural sights etc.) are marked out.
You can also learn about the history of the town or village from the board and
see pictures of one of the handcrafts typical for the place. All the information is
both in Czech and in English.
