International festival Prague Ballet Summer is an exclusive cultural ballet happening, which
introduces to the audience dancers from countries around the world and distinguished artists of major
international theaters.
The festival´s program includes famous performance “La vie en rose” which, which was highly
acclaimed all around the world. The choreography is created by Ben van Cauwenbergh, one of the
present international recognized personality of the ballet world. The performance “La vie en rose”
is created on chansons and is great at wittiness, but also with high technical level. Second work, which
will be introduced by the artists of Aalto Ballett Theater is “Cherche, Trouve, Perdu”. The
choreography is created by French artist Patrick Delcorix.
This is a season rich with masterpiece of classical ballet like “Swan Lake”. The audience will enter
the world of ballet through the famous work of Peter I.Tchaikovsky, which includes the choreography
of famous French choreographer Marius Petipa and Russian choreographer Lev Ivanov both being the
tradition and pillars in the history of ballet. Prague International Ballet will introduce both principal
dancers from various countries and also an absolutely exceptional corps de ballet (chorus). Everybody
is interested to work beside ballet stars. From this point of view is this project for every involved artist
very exceptional.
Summer Ballet Gala, this event combine classical excerpts in “a new style” with virtuoso technique
and with modern and contemporary works. The „best of the best“ in ballet. A ballet performance is
one of dramatical-visual arts, which plays a significant role in the world of theatre. The strength of s
gala performance is based on its exclusiveness, which expresses in the excerpts of various ballet
works. It benefits mainly from the experience of the performers, and presents the ballet genre in a most
comprehensible language, following the spectator´s theatrical and musical experience. Ballet without
the scenery and “corps de ballet” can become a pure world of motion and harmony, appealing at its
maximum in accord with the artist´s brilliant performance.
