Summary of scientific research
He has published in professional journals a number of articles, focused mainly on business and labour
legislation. After the fall of communism in 1989 he published many articles on Catholic Social Teaching. In
1991 he participated in the foundation of the Christian Trade Union "Work and Freedom". He became the first
chairman of this organization. In 1992 he participated in the foundation of the charity Nova Societas devoted to
the promotion of ideas of Catholic Social Teaching and he became its administrator. He is one of the authors
of the book Way to a Man, published in 1993. The book discusses topical issues on market societies and
Christian ethics. In 1996 he was a co-founder of the Christian and Labour movement in the Czech Republic
based on the ideas of the JOC founder Cardinal Cardejn. From 1997 he has led the Centre for Social Education
at the Christian Institute in Ostrava, the aim of which is the dissemination of the social teaching of the Church.
He is author of scripts for three video-films about social science which were shot in the Telepace television
studio in Ostrava.
