Americký bar
Americký bar je nejstarším barem v Praze a druhým nejstarším
barem v Evropě. Jeho historie sahá až do začátku minulého
století, kdy byl patrně prvním významnějším veřejným místem,
ve kterém se odrážely myšlenky z „Nového světa“, jenž byly tehdy
vzorem, a konkretizovaly vlastenecké a politické ideály doby při
zakládání vlastní demokratické republiky. Není tedy divu, že tady
lze vysledovat i vliv Spolku amerických žen. Právě ženy zde mohly
bar navštěvovat samostatně bez doprovodu mužů.
Atmosféru chicagského baru začátku století vytvářejí černé
keramické obklady na sloupech a k nim jako kontrast kolorované
kresby Mikoláše Alše s lidovými motivy. Podle dobových fotografií
byl také nově navržen barový pult z černého mramoru, s bočními
prosklenými nástavci. Dominantou stropu je hlavní lustr dodaný
Františkem Křižíkem, řešený jako mozaikový vitrážový věnec se
čtyřmi diamantovými kazetami.
Americký bar na Vás jistě zapůsobí neopakovatelnou atmosférou,
ve které si můžete vybírat ze široké nabídky koktejlů, špičkových
destilátů nebo šampaňského. Doufáme tedy, že i Vy strávíte

American bar
American bar is the oldest bar in Prague and the second oldest
in Europe. Its history dates back to the beginning of past century
when it was apparently the first significant public place where
thoughts from "New World" were reflected. Therefore, it is no
wonder that an influence of American Women Society can be
traced down to this Bar which they could visit without being accompanied by men.
Black ceramic tiles on pillars create unforgettable atmosphere of
Chicago bar from the beginning of this century with a contrasting colorized drawing of Mikoláš Aleš with folk motives. Bar was
newly designed from black marble with glass side extensions, all
according to historical photographs. The dominant feature is the
main ceiling chandelier supplied by Frantisek Krizik, stained glass
mosaic designed as a wreath, with four diamond cartridges.
The American bar will certainly impress with the unique atmosphere in which you can choose from a wide range of cocktails,
spirits or champagne. We truly believe that your time spent in
American bar will be enjoyable, filled with delicious cocktails
