Moravská orlice
Moravian Spread-Eagle
Tento znak vznikl ze znaku města Olomouce, které bylo
ve 13. století hlavním městem Markrabství moravského.
Bylo jím až do roku 1641, kdy byly do Brna přeneseny
Zemské desky a přeložen Královský tribunál. Orlice
přesto zůstala znakem Moravy. Znak měl od počátku tyto
barvy – na modrém pozadí tvoří červeno-bílá mozaika
orlici ve zbroji se zlatou korunou.
This heraldry originated from the heraldry of the town of
Olomouc, the capital of the Moravian Margravate in the
13th century. Olomouc served as the capital till 1641
when the Royal Tribunal moved to Brno. In spite of that
fact the Spread-Eagle continued to be the heraldry of
Moravia. From the beginning the heraldry has had the
present colours– on the blue field there is a red-white
mosaic forming the spread-eagle in the harness with the
golden crown.
