Vážené dámy,
vážení pánové, milí čtenáři,
každý konec roku, resp. začátek toho dalšího,
přináší období hodnocení. Kongresové centrum Praha může ten uplynulý bezesporu zařadit mezi ty úspěšné - ať už z hlediska akcí
uskutečněných, tak těch, které nás teprve
čekají.
V roce 2006 jsme měli čest pořádat mnoho velmi
významných mezinárodních kongresů a konferencí. Do celosvětového povědomí se určitě
nesmazatelně zapíše srpnový ASTRO 2006
– Astronomický světový kongres svým „zrušením“ Pluta jako 9 planety. Mezi dalšími nelze
přehlédnout březnové ASTA Destination Expo
2006, mnohými přezdívané jako celosvětová
olympiáda cestovního ruchu, ESHRE 2006 – 22. kongres Evropské
společnosti pro lidskou reprodukci a embryologii (červen) nebo WSAVA 2006
– 31. světový kongres veterinářů (říjen). A ve výčtu bychom mohli pokračovat.
Vždyť v roce 2006 jsme v prostorách největšího českého kongresového centra
pořádali 365 akcí.
I výhled do budoucnosti, ať už té blízké nebo i trochu vzdálenější nás naplňuje
optimizmem. Již teď je v plné přípravě mnoho akcí, z nichž jmenujme alespoň
dubnový SPIE EUROPE – mezinárodní kongres optiky, ITA-AITES – Světový
tunelářský kongres (květen 2007) či 10. Evropský psychologický kongres (červenec 2007). Především díky
naší aktivitě se dle statistiky mezinárodní asociace
ICCA daří Praze udržet 6. místo na světě v počtu
plánovaných mezinárodních kongresů a konferencí v letech 2007 – 2017. V tomto ukazateli jsme
předstihli i taková světová města jako jsou Berlín, Hong-Kong, Londýn nebo Atény.
V minulém roce jsme s úspěchem obhájili
certifikát řízení managementu kvality. Díky
implementaci systému ISO 9001:2000
zaručujeme všem našim klientům vysokou
kvalitu služeb. Rovněž využívání nového
rezervačního systému, který jsme v průběhu loňského roku vyvinuli ve spolupráci
s našim externím dodavatelem a v jehož rozvoji budeme pokračovat i letos, nám pomůže zefektivnit,
zkvalitnit a zrychlit naši práci.
Stranou nezůstává ani náš hotel Holiday Inn Prague Congress Centre, jeden
z nejlepších čtyřhvězdičkových hotelů v Praze. Vysokou kvalitu jeho služeb
oceňují nejen delegáti našich kongresů, ale i ostatní návštěvníci Prahy.
Za úspěchy a pokroky, kterých naše Kongresové centrum dosáhlo v minulém roce, bych velmi rád poděkoval zejména všem zaměstnancům a partnerům. A letošní rok ať je alespoň stejně úspěšný.

Ladies and gentlemen, dear readers,
Děti koncertovaly dětem
every end of year and the beginning of the next one brings the time
for evaluation. The Prague Congress Centre can class the last year
as very successful, both because of already organized and planned
events.
Již podesáté se v největším sále Kongresového centra Praha (KCP)
konal koncert Děti dětem. Tradiční akce byla vyvrcholením Pionýrského Sedmikvítku – otevřené kulturně-umělecké soutěže sdružení Pionýr,
které se každoročně účastní kolem 10 000 dětí.
We had the honor to organize many prominent international congresses and conferences in the year 2006.
In August there was the World Astronomical Congress – ASTRO
2006 which has entered the global consciousness by its “cancellation” of Pluto as a planet. Among others we can’t omit ASTA
Destination Expo 2006 in March, called the world-wide olympics
of tourism, ESHRE 2006 – 22nd Congress of European Society for
Human Reproduction and Embryology (June) or WSAVA 2006 – 31st
World Small Animal Veterinary Congress (October). And we could
carry on listing. In 2006 we organized 365 events in the biggest Czech
congress centre.
Future prospects, the near and the further, are optimistic. Right now we
are preparing many events, for example in April SPIE EUROPE – international congress of opticians, ITA-AITES – World Tunneling Congress
(May 2007) or the 10th European Psychological Congress (July 2007).
Mainly because of our activities Prague has managed to keep its sixth position
in the world in number of planned international congresses and conferences for
years 2007 – 2017 as far as the stats of the international association go. Considering this indicator we have overtaken
such big world cities as Berlin, Hong-Kong, London or
Athens.
Last year we successfully defended the certificate of
quality management. Thanks to implementation of the
system ISO 9001:2000 we guarantee high quality
service to all our clients. Also using the new reservation system which was developed in cooperation
with our external provider last year and which will be
further developed this year will help us to improve, accelerate and make our service more effective.
We can’t omit our hotel Holiday Inn Prague Congress Centre, one of the best four-star hotels
in Prague. Its high quality service has been
appreciated by not only the congress
participants but also by other visitors
of Prague.
I would like to thank particularly to all our employees and
partners for all the successes
and improvements that were

Malí umělci soupeří v mnoha oblastech – v hraní na hudební nástroj, zpěvu,
divadelním či tanečním umění, rukodělných činnostech, fotografování či výtvarném umění. „Z tisíců soutěžících, musíme každoročně zvolit cca 160 dětí, které
vystoupí na benefičním koncertu. V Kongresovém sále KCP, který je největším
koncertním sálem v republice, se scházíme již 5. rokem. Vybrali jsme si jej právě pro jeho velikost. 1 700 dětských diváků bychom do jiného sálu neumístili,“
uvedla Irena Černá ze sdružení Pionýr.
Záštitu nad letošním ročníkem převzalo Ministerstvo školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy. Stejně jako v minulých letech program sledovalo bezmála dva tisíce
diváků a bylo vyprodáno. Významným okamžikem bylo každoroční předávání
Putovních pohárů předsedy vlády České republiky za dlouhodobý přínos pro
rozvoj práce s dětmi v oblasti kultury. Večera se účastnila řada významných
hostů z oblasti politiky i občanských sdružení dětí a mládeže.

The concert Children to children took place
in the biggest hall of the Prague Congress
Centre (PCC) for the tenth time already. The
traditional event was a climax of an open
cultural-artistic competition of the Pionýr
club called “Pionýrský Sedmikvítek” in which
about 10 000 children participates every
year.
The young artists compete in many things – playing musical instrument, singing, theatre performing and dancing, handicraft activities, photography
or fine art. “Every year we have to choose about 160 competitors from thousands
kids who perform on the benefit concert. We have been meeting regularly in the
Congress Hall of PCC, which is the biggest concert hall in the Czech Republic,
for five years already. We chose it precisely because of its big size. We would
not be able to sit 1 700 children audience into any other hall,” said Irena Černá
from the Pionýr club.
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport took a patronage over this year. As
in the last years the programme was attended by almost two thousand spectators and it was sold out. A remarkable moment was an annual presentation of

of culture. Many special guests from politics and citizen-action
public of children and
youth participated in
the evening.

Czech Republic
Český tunelářský komitét (ČTuK) získal na mezinárodním kongresu v roce 2004 v Singapuru právo uspořádat letos v české metropoli
33. světovou konferenci Mezinárodní tunelářské asociace ITA/AITES
„World Tunnel Congress 2007“
(WTC). Do Kongresového centra
Praha, kde se WTC bude letos ve
dnech 5. – 10. května konat, se tak
sjede na cca 400 představitelů organizací, vysokoškolských a vědeckých pracovišť, firem i jednotlivců
zainteresovaných v podzemním
stavitelství z 50 zemí světa. Význam Kongresu podtrhuje i skutečnost,
že kromě ITA/AITES převzal nad jeho konáním záštitu i prezident ČR
Václav Klaus, ministr pro regionální rozvoj a pražský primátor.

About 400 university and scientific experts
and representatives of organizations dealing
with underground constructions will come to
the Prague Congress Centre where the conference will take place from
5th to 10th May. The importance of the congress is emphasized by the
fact that together with ITA/ITES the patronage over the organization
has been taken by the president of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus,
Ministry for Regional Development and the Prague mayor.
WTC se pořádá každoročně, vždy v jiném státě, jehož národní tunelářský
komitét je členem ITA/AITES. Hlavním tématem prestižního setkání v Praze je:
„Podzemí – čtvrtá dimenze velkoměst“. Pracovat se bude v 9 sekcích. Nejvíce
obsazeny jsou ty, které se týkají projektování a provádění podzemních staveb
v různých podmínkách.
Zájem o WTC 2007 je v odborných kruzích nejvyšší v historii mezinárodních
tunelářských kongresů. „I ty největší předcházející konference nepřesáhly 300
přihlášených příspěvků. Do Prahy se přitom ohlásilo na 1 000 autorů, kteří zaslali více než 300 referátů. Zhruba 30% z nich budou odborníci prezentovat při
přednáškách, ostatní v posterové sekci. Z důvodu rekordní účasti jsme museli
navýšit počet přednáškových sálů v Kongresovém centru na čtyři,“ uvedl Ing.
Georgij Romancov, předseda organizačního výboru WTC 2007 Praha.
O současném stavu rozvoje podzemních staveb a vývoji profese se bude diskutovat v rámci tzv. Keynote Lecture. Nové finanční trendy a uzavírání smluv pro
realizaci tunelových staveb bude námětem tzv. Open Session. „Mimo to se počítá s několika desítkami prezentací významných světových firem v prostorách
doprovodné výstavy i vzdělávacím workshopem pro mladé odborníky. Samozřejmě jsou plánovány odborné exkurze na nejzajímavější podzemní stavby
v Praze a okolí,“ poznamenal Romancov. Na účastníky WTC čeká řada doprovodných akcí v reprezentativních pražských lokalitách, včetně koncertu České
filharmonie v budově pražského Rudolfina či galavečera na Pražském hradě.
Na závěrečném zasedání Valného shromáždění proběhne volba nového vedení
vrcholného orgánu Mezinárodní tunelářské asociace
- Exekutivy.

Československý) tunelářský
komitét patřil mezi zakládající
členy. V současné době je
v ní sdruženo 53 národních
komitétů a 281 přidružených
členů.
WTC is organized yearly, each time in a different country of which the national
tunnel committee is member of ITA/ITES. Main topic of this prestigious meeting in Prague is: “Underground – the 4th dimension of cities”. There will be 9
sections. The most occupied are those relating to projecting and working on
underground constructions in various conditions.
The interest in WTC 2007 among experts is at its highest in the history of international tunnel congresses. “Even the biggest preceding conferences did not
reach over 300 conference papers. In Prague we have about 1 000 registered
authors who have sent more than 300 papers. About 30% will be presented by
experts during lectures and others will be in the poster section. Because of this
record participation we had to increase the number of conference rooms in the
Prague Congress Centre up to four,” said Georgij Romancov, president of the
organization committee WTC 2007 Prague.
The contemporary state of development of underground constructions and the
development of the profession will be discussed within so called Keynote Lecture. “Besides this we prepare tens of presentations of important world companies, accompanying exhibitions and educational workshop for young experts. Of
course we plan special field trips round the most important underground constructions in Prague and the neighborhood,” said Mr.Romancov. There are many
supporting and accompanying events waiting for the WTC participants including
a Czech philharmonic orchestra concert in Prague Rudolfinum or a gala evening
at the Prague Castle. During the closing plenary session a new top authority
– executive – of the International Tunnel Association is
going to be elected.

V zimní letové sezóně má
pražské letiště pravidelné
spojení se 104 světovými destinacemi, které zajišťuje 46
leteckých společností. „Nově
dopravci létají např. do britských Blackpoolu a Bournemouthu, na londýnské letiště
Luton, do Turína či Florencie.
Z Prahy se cestující nyní také
dostanou do Neapole, Milána/
Linate či belgického Liege,“ uvedla tisková mluvčí Letiště Praha, s.p. Eva Krejčí.
Jednou z priorit pražského letiště je i rozvíjení dálkových linek. V květnu 2007
začne fungovat nové přímé spojení z Prahy do Atlanty – největší letecké vstupní
brány do USA.
Nový terminál
Počet příletů a odletů na Letišti Praha rok od roku stoupá. Pražské letiště proto
loni otevřelo nový Terminál Sever 2, který byl vyhlášen dopravní stavbou roku.
Terminál Sever 2 umožnil jednoduše oddělit lety do zemí Schengenské dohody
a do ostatních států, kam se létá z Terminálu Sever 1. Nová hala umožňuje
odbavit o další 4 mil. pasažérů více. V loňském roce tak prošlo Ruzyní celkem
11,6 milionu cestujících, což je o 7,5% více než v roce 2005.
Pohodlné odbavení
Letištní VIP salonky jsou vyhrazeny zejména pro ty pasažéry,
kteří dávají přednost pohodlnému
cestování. Mají k dispozici audio
a video techniku s velkoplošnou
obrazovkou a internetovým připojením doplněným informačními
monitory. Mohou přijet do snadno
dostupných prostor obsluhovaných profesionálním týmem
i na poslední chvíli. Odbavení
při odletu a příletu, občerstvení
a bezdrátové připojení k internetu jsou součástí servisu. „Na konci roku 2006
jsme otevřeli v pořadí už pátý VIP salonek. Má kapacitu 22 křesel, celkově nyní
salonky nabízejí kapacitu 90 míst, plus tiskové a jednací místnosti,“ doplnila
Eva Krejčí.
Zrychlil se i způsob získávání informací o letu. Stačí jen zadat SMS ve tvaru LET
s číslem konkrétního letu (např. LET SK 4737) a odeslat ji na číslo 9000609.
Obratem obdrží cestující zprávu s veškerými informacemi o letu, včetně terminálu a dokonce typu letadla. Další podrobnosti najdete na www.prg.aero.

Majestátní Obecní dům na náměstí Republiky si často vybírají účastníci
kongresů a konferencí konaných v Praze také jako noblesní prostředí
pro pořádání doprovodných akcí. Smetanova síň i další sály a salonky
totiž poskytují ideální podmínky pro pořádání recepcí, plesů, koncertů,

jako multifunkční kulturněspolečenské centrum. Po
celkové rekonstrukci budovy
v 90. letech je dnes nejen

Prohlídku Obecního domu
zařadil do svého programu
při návštěvě Prahy i japonský císařský pár. Vhodné prostředí k jednání či doprovodným akcím zde našli
Parlamentní shromáždění NATO, Mezinárodní olympijský výbor, UEFA, či Mezinárodní měnový fond a Světová banka. V prestižní koncertní Smetanově síni
v posledních letech zazářily stálice operního nebe jako José Cura či Rolando
Villazón. Svoji tvorbu tu prezentovaly špičky módního návrhářství Gianni Versace i Blanka Matragi.

During winter season Prague airport has 104 connections by air to world destinations secured by 46 airline companies. “Recently the air carriers fly to British
Blackpool and Bournemouth, to London airport Luton, to Turin or Florence. It is
also possible to fly to Naples, Milan/Linate and Belgian Liege,” said Eva Krejčí,
Prague Airport spokesperson. One of the priorities is developing long-distance
air routes. A new direct connection from Prague to Atlanta – the biggest air gateway to the USA - will be put into operation in May 2007.
New terminal
Number of arrivals and departures at the Prague Airport has been increasing year by year. That is why Prague airport opened a new terminal “Terminal
North 2” last year which was announced as the construction of the year. This
allowed separating flights to the Schengen Agreement countries from flights to
other countries departing from Terminal North 1. The new hall allows checking-in
by 4 million passengers more. Last year 11,6 milion passengers walked through
Ruzyně which is by 7,5% more than in 2005.

do různě velkých místností. Z nich může KCP připravit i jen jeden rozsáhlý prostor vhodný také pro prezentace firem či výstavy.
Kluby A, B, C, D a E se nacházejí v lehce dostupném 1. patře budovy KCP.
Prostory, které mají ve spojení délku 55 metrů a plochu 628 m2, jsou ideální pro
pořádání různě velkých seminářů, konferencí, kurzů, podnikových prezentací,
výstav či gastronomických akcí. Když se například tři prostřední menší kluby
spojí do jednoho, vzniknou v celém prostoru tři zhruba stejně velké místnosti,
každá pro cca 150 osob. Zástěny jsou posuvné a lze s nimi velmi lehce manipulovat dle aktuálních potřeb programu akce.
Do klubů se vchází z reprezentativního foyer s příjemným výhledem na panorama Prahy, které je možné využít pro coffee breaky. Prostory klubů jsou dobře
osvětleny denním světlem, jejich čelní stěny jsou prosklené. Neprůhledný závěs
však zajišťuje potřebné soukromí.

The spaces of the five
Clubs, ideal for negotiations, can be interconnected in various ways. PCC is also able to make one large room suitable for
firm presentations or exhibitions.
Clubs A, B, C, D and E are situated on an easily accessible 1st floor of PCC. The
premises, interconnected they are 55 metres long and the area is 628 square
metres, are ideal for organizing various seminars, conferences, presentations,
exhibitions or gastronomical events. For example when the three middle clubs
are interconnected into one, there are three similar rooms on the whole area,
each for 150 people. The screens are mobile and easily manipulated according
to the current needs of the programme.
You enter the clubs from representative foyer with a nice view over Prague
which can be used for coffee breaks. As their front walls are glassed-in, the
premises are well lit by the day-light. However, the opaque curtains provide
necessary privacy.
