Vítejte v kolébce jihomoravského vinařství. Pěstování vinné révy má pod Pálavou tradici sahající do dob před téměř dvěma tisíci lety, kdy sem první révu přinesla římská X. legie. Ano,
tradice jsou zde bohaté, to však neznamená, že by zdejší vinaři nešli s dobou a neprodukovali
dnes špičková vína moderními postupy. Přij te a ochutnejte. Na podzim burčák, předzvěst
mladých vín, v listopadu svatomartinské a po celý rok zdejší veltlíny, vlašské a rýnské ryzlinky nebo zweigeltrebe, merloty či svatovavřinecké.
_Region des Sturms und Weins
Willkommen in der Wiege des südmährischen Weinbaus. Der Weinanbau hat unter den Pollauer
Bergen eine Tradition, die sich von den Zeiten datiert, wenn vor fast zwei tausend Jahren die
X. römische Legion die ersten Pflänzlinge der Weinrebe nach hierher gebracht hatte. Ja,
diese Tradition ist hier sehr alt und reich, was aber nicht heisst, dass die hiesig en Winzer
zurückbleiben würden. Im Gegenteil, sie produzieren Spitzenweine unter Anwendung der
modernsten Vorgänge. Kommt und kostet! Im Herbst gibt es den Sturm — den Vorboten der
jungen Weine, — im November ist es der Sankt-Martin-Wein und das ganze Jahr über liegen hiesige
Veltliner, Welscher und Rheinischer Rieslinge, Zweigeltreben, Merlotten und Wawrinezer vor.

Tage der offenen Tür zu den Weinkellern
Welcome to the land beneath the Pálava Hills, the cradle of wine-making in South Moravia.
Here the tradition of cultivating grapevines reaches back nearly two thousand years, when the
first vines were brought in with the Roman Xth Legion. A long tradition to be sure; but local
vintners are far from being antiquated — today much wine is made using the latest in advanced
technology. Come and taste for yourself. The autumn specialty is new wine; in November the
young St. Martin's is opened. Mikulov's best white wines include Gruner Veltliner, Welsch and
Rhine Rieslings; its better reds are Zweigeltrebe, Merlot, and St. Lawrence.
Den Zauber der Weinkeller in Pavlov kann man während der
Besichtigungstage von Juli bis August im Sommer oder im
November genießen. In Horní oder Dolní Věstonice gibt es so
eine Möglichkeit in Juli.

Pálavské vinobraní
Poznejte trojici vinařských naučných stezek. Mikulovská stezka
a stezka v Pavlově představují vinařství v obcích pod Pálavou,
kdežto stezka Stará hora vás zavede do okolí Novosedel.
Začátek září je v Mikulově tradičně ve znamení největší vinařské
akce regionu — Pálavského vinobraní. Po celý víkend můžete
ochutnávat vína i burčák a poslouchat hudbu všech žánrů.

Entdecken Sie drei Winzerlehrpfaden. Die Lehrpfaden Mikulov
und Pavlov stellen den Weinbau in den Gemeinden unterhalb
der Pollauer Berge (Pálava) vor, der Lehrpfad Stará hora führt
in die Landschaft um Novosedly.
Am Anfang September verläuft in Mikulov alljährlich die
grösste Winzerveranstaltung der Region, das Pollauer
Weinfest. Die ganze Wochenendzeit über kann man hier
die Weine und den Sturm verkosten und verschiedenartige
Musik hören.

The Mikulov Trail and the trail in Pavlov tell you about
winemaking in the villages below the Pálava Hills, while
the Stará hora trail takes you to the village of Novosedly.
Enjoy the magic of the wine cellars in Pavlov during Open
Cellars Summer in July and August, or during Open Cellars
Days in November. In Horní and Dolní Věstonice the open
cellar days are in June.

At the beginning of September Mikulov hosts the largest
wine event in the region, the Pálava Wine Harvest Festival.
All weekend you can taste wine and burčák (new wine), and
attend music performances of all genres.

Ve sklepě mikulovského zámku trůní druhý největší dochovaný
historický vinný sud v Evropě. Má úctyhodný objem
1014 hektolitrů a přímo ve sklepě byl postaven v roce 1643.

hier gebautes historisches Weinfass, das mit seiner
ehrwürdigen Kubatur von 1014 Hektoliter als das zweitgrösste
derartige Exponat Europas geschätzt wird.
Giant Barrel
In the cellar of Mikulov Chateau you will find the secondlargest existing wine barrel in Europe, with a respectable
capacity of 1014 hectolitres. It was built right inside the
cellar in 1643.

Jádrem rozsáhlé památkové rezervace je komplex
mikulovského zámku (dnes je v něm regionální muzeum),
přilehlé náměstí s dominantou Dietrichsteinské hrobky
a židovská čtvr s dochovanou synagogou.
Denkmalschutzgebiet Mikulov
Den Kern des ausgedehnten Denkmalschutzgebietes Mikulov
bildet der Schlosskomplex — heute das Regionalmuseum — der
anliegende Stadtplatz mit der dominierenden Dietrichsteingruft
und das Judenviertel mit der erhaltenen Synagoge.

Here walked history. In Mikulov you can say this with literally every step. The first humans settled
here 27 thousand years ago. Since then the country has been visited by or inhabited by
Romans, Celts, Germanic tribes, Slavs, the armies of many empires, and religious and other
refugees, and nationalities and traditions have mixed. The results of their labors are all around
you. For a deeper explanation you can visit the exhibits at the Mikulov chateau or the exhibit
on the Romans in Pasohlávky, or the archaeological exhibits and instructional trail in Dolní
Věstonice. We hope that in Mikulov you will visit not only the historical monuments, but the
rich calendar of cultural events.

Zámek v Mikulově
Barokní zámek na spojnici mezi Vídní a Brnem patřil po staletí k významným
moravským šlechtickým sídlům. Rozkvět této dominanty širokého okolí je spojen
především s rodem Dietriechsteinů, o němž se můžete dozvědět více v jedné
z expozic Regionálního muzea v Mikulově, které zde sídlí. Z dalších expozic
můžeme doporučit unikátní sklepní výstavu věnovanou době, kdy se v kraji pod
Pálavou střetávaly germánské kmeny s Římany nebo vinařskou expozici.

Das auf dem Weg zwischen Wien und Brünn sich befindliche Barockschloss
gehörte jahrhundertelang zu den wichtigen Adelssitzen Mährens. Der Aufschwung
der Dominante und deren Umgebung ist vor allem mit den Herren von
Dietrichstein verbunden. Mehr darüber sagt Ihnen die entsprechende Exposition
des hier ansässigen Regionalmuseums Mikulov. Es ist empfehlenswert, unter
anderem sich eine einzigartige Kellerausstellung anzusehen, die den Zeiten der
Zusammenstöße zwischen den Germanenstämmen und Römern in der Gegend
unterhalb der Pollauer Berge gewidmet ist. Eine andere interessante Exposition
erzählt von der Weinbaugeschichte.
Mikulov Chateau
For centuries this Baroque chateau, towering over the countryside above the
road between Vienna and Brno, was the residence of the most important
Moravian nobility. It saw its greatest during the era when it belonged to the
Dietrichstein family. Its museum exhibits include a unique presentation on the
Roman era, when the land below the Pálava was inhabited by Germanic tribes
and Romans. The castle also houses an excellent exhibit on winemaking.

The heart of Mikulov's extensive historical area is the chateau
complex, which today houses the Regional Museum, along
with the nearby town square, the Dietrichstein Tomb, and the
Jewish Quarter with its surviving synagogue.

A number of cultural events large and small take place during
the year in Mikulov. Besides the music festivals, you might
also attend the local traditional costume folk festival, wine
exhibitions, or the wine harvest celebration.

_Přirozená krása kraje
Jedním z hlavních důvodů, proč Mikulovsko přitahuje lidi zblízka i zdaleka, je jeho
podmanivá krása. Je to malebnost vinařských vesniček, pestrobarevné plochy úrodných polí, mozaika sadů, vinic, to vše obroubené modrou stuhou Dyje a s bělostnými
útesy Pálavy, s panoramatem Mikulova uprostřed. Chcete-li si tuto krásu skutečně
vychutnat, musíte zpomalit — vystoupit z auta, nasednout na kolo, projít se pěšky,
zasednout s udicí k vodě nebo se skleničkou před vinný sklípek.

Ein der Gründe allgemein, warum die Mikulov-Umgebung Leute nah und fern
anlockt, ist deren herzgewinnende Schönheit. Malerische Winzerdörfer, buntfarbige
Flächen der fruchtbaren Felder, das Obst- und Weingartenmosaik, das alles mit
dem blauen Band der Thaya mit lilienweissen Klippen der Pollauer Berge und Panorama der Stadt Mikulov mitteninne eingesäumt. Um diese Schönheit wirklich

weiter radeln oder spazieren, mit der Angel ans Wasser oder mit dem Glas vor

_The region's natural wonders
One of the main reasons Mikulov brings visitors from near and far is its haunting
beauty. Picturesque wine villages, the colourful patchwork of fertile fields, orchards,
and vineyards; the winding blue ribbon of the Dyje River and the gleaming cliffs of the
Pálava, rising above the outline of Mikulov. If you really want to savour the countryside, you'll have to slow down. Park the car and get on a bike, take a walk, sit down
by the water with a fishing pole, or in front of a wine cellar with a glass of wine.
Jak se chovat na Pálavě?
Máme pro vás deset dobrých rad, jak být ohleduplným hostem
v tomto chrámu přírody. Své odpadky si odneste s sebou,
jinak mohou zvířatům způsobit zranění nebo i smrt. Netrhejte
rostliny a nechytejte zvířata, stejně se vám nepodaří udělat
hezčí skalku, než je Pálava. Nejezděte po rezervacích na kole.
Není to bezpečné pro vás ani pro ostatní turisty, navíc se tím
stezky ničí. Nelezte po skalách, plašíte tím ptáky a shazujete
chráněné rostliny. Nelétejte v rezervacích na padácích. Při startu
ničíte vzácné rostliny. Nepoškozujte zařízení naučných stezek
ani značení turistických tras! Bez nich zabloudíte a nedozvíte se
mnoho zajímavých informací. Držte se turistických chodníků,
nevstupujte živočichům do obýváků, ložnic ani jídelen.
Nestanujte v rezervacích! Nocujte pouze v kempech a hotelích.
Nedělejte hluk, neplašte zvířata! Plazi, ptáci a savci mají ticho
mnohem raději než pop, rock nebo dechovku. Nerozdělávejte
ohně! Oheň do rezervací, ale ani mimo ně, nepatří.

Nachstehende zehn gute Ratschläge dienen als Anleitung für
rücksichtsvolles Benehmen in diesem Dom der Natur. Keine
Abfälle wegwerfen und so die Tiere vor einer möglichen
Verletzung oder sogar vor dem Tod schützen. Keine Tiere
fangen und keine Pflanzen pflücken; einen schöneren
Steingarten als den von Pollauer Bergen werden Sie sowieso
nicht gestalten können. In den Reservationen nicht radeln.
Es ist gefährlich für Sie als auch für die anderen Touristen,
und darüber hinaus leiden die Pfadoberflächen darunter. Nicht
auf die Felsen klettern und somit die Vögel scheuchen und
geschützte Pflanzen vernichten. Keinen Fallschirmsport in
den Reservationen pflegen; beim Start werden rare Pflanzen

zertreten. Die Anlagen der Lehrpfaden und Markierungen der
Touristentrassen nicht vernichten! Ansonsten werden Sie
vom Weg abkommen und viele interessante Informationen
verpassen. Nur die touristischen Gehsteige benutzen, die
Wohn- und Schlafzimmer oder Speiseräume der Tiere nicht
betreten. Keine Zelte in den Reservationen aufschlagen! Nur
an Campingplätzen und in Hotels nächtigen. Keinen Lärm
machen und die Tiere scheuchen! Die Vögel, Kriech- und
Säugetiere bevorzugen Stille vor einer Pop-, Rock- oder
Blasmusik. Kein Feuer in und ausserhalb der Reservationen
anmachen!
Příroda Mikulovska je cenná nejen v rámci České republiky,
ale i v evropském srovnání. Žijí zde evropsky ohrožené druhy
rostlin a živočichů, a proto byla část jeho území zařazena do
soustavy Natura 2000.
How to behave in the Pálava Protected Area
Here are ten bits of good advice on how to be a considerate
guest in this protected nature area. Take your refuse out with
you; otherwise it can injure or even kill the wildlife. Don't
pick any plants or catch any living things; your rock garden
at home can never equal Pálava. Don't ride your bike in the
nature reserve — it's unsafe to you and others, and destroys
the trails. Don't climb on the rocks; that scares the birds and
kills protected plants. No hang-gliding or parachuting from
the cliffs; at the top you trample protected plants. And please
don't damage the nature trail information boards or the trail
markings! Without them you might get lost, and you'll be
missing a lot of information. Keep on the hiking trails, don't
invade the wildlife's space. No camping in the nature reserve!
Please stay only at regular campgrounds or hotels. Please
don't make a lot of noise; that scares the animals, too. Reptiles,
birds, and mammals like quiet better than pop, rock, or brass
band music. And fires have no place in, around, or anywhere
near the reserve.

Pálava je krásnou ukázkou kulturní krajiny, která je natolik
ojedinělá, že ji chrání UNESCO v rámci světové sítě
biosférických rezervací. Zdejší příroda zve k procházkám
od časného jara až do podzimu.

sondern auch im europäischen Mass wertvoll. Es gibt etliche
gefährdete Pflanzen- und Lebewesengattungen hier, deshalb
wurde ein Teil der Gegend ins System von Natura 2000
einbezogen.

The natural environment of the Mikulov area is precious not
just in terms of the Czech Republic, but is unique in all of
Europe. Part of the region was included in the Natura 2000
protection program to protect its rare, endangered species
of plants and wildlife.

At the bottom of the Turold quarry, across from the entrance
to the cave, is a geopark that presents 17 basic types of
rocks. Polished stones show how their beauty can be brought
out. The geopark connects to the existing nature trail route.

Nové Mlýny, která je významnou ptačí rezervací. Na 6 stanovištích

Naučná stezka Děvín
Naučná stezka vznikla v roce 2005 a nahradila tak již zdemolovanou stezku ze 70. let. Kopíruje turistické značky na území
NPR Děvín-Kotel-Soutěska (viz plánek). Na 15 zastaveních
se dozvíte informace o typických biotopech, o historii krajiny,
myslivosti nebo péči o chráněná území.

Der alte und bereits verwüstete Lehrpfad aus den 1970er
wurde im Jahre 2005 renoviert. Er kopiert die touristischen
Markierungen auf dem National-Naturschutzgebiet Děvín
(Maidenberg)-Kotel-Soutěska (siehe den Plan). An 15 Standorten kann man sich Informationen über typische Biotope,

Děvín Nature Trail
This instructional trail was created in 2005, and replaced the
worn-out trail built in the 1970s. It copies the marked trail
system within the Děvín-Kotel-Soutěska protected area (see
map). 15 panels give you information on local habitats, the
history of the land, hunting, and nature conservation.
Věstonice Reservoir instructional trail
This 11 km-long trail leads along the Middle Reservoir of the
Nové Mlýny Reservoirs, an area protected as an important
ornithological reserve. At 6 stations you will learn about the
local bird population, about the vanished village of Mušov, and
the restoration of the floodplain countryside.

Ein der größten Campingplätze landesweit, der sich an
der Küste von Stauseen Nové Mlýny befindet, ist ein oft
ausgesuchtes Zentrum für den Sommerurlaub am Wasser.

und Sportaktivitäten. Sehr beliebt sind auch Schifffahrten auf
dem Stausee.
The Mikulov area is criss-crossed by a number of long
distance cycling routes, such as Greenways Prague — Vienna,
or the Amber Trail. The wine district bicycle trails are very
popular.
Pasohlávky
One of the best campgrounds in the country, located on the
banks of the Nové Mlýny Reservoirs. Apopular summer destination by the water, it offers a broad assortment of services
and sporting opportunities, and boat rides on the reservoir.

Nejoblíbenější pěší trasy vedou přes Pálavu a podél státní
hranice do blízkého Lednicko-valtického areálu. Zajímavé ale
bývají také procházky mezi vinohrady a sklepními uličkami.
Příznivci přírodního koupání většinou míří do lagun u Pasohlávek, ostatní tráví čas na koupalištích a vodních atrakcích
v Mikulově nebo v Březí. Pasohlávky mohou nabídnout rovněž
termální bazén s minerální vodou.

Die beliebtesten Wanderungstrassen führen querdurch das
Gebiet von Pollauer Bergen und die Staatsgrenze entlang bis
ins nahe liegende Areal von Lednice und Valtice. Interessante
Wanderung gibt es auch zwischen Weinbergen und durch
Weinkellergassen.

Swimming
The favourite walking trails lead over the Pálava Hills and along
the border with Austria to the nearby Lednice-Valtice Area. It's
also nice to just walk through the vineyards and along the
lanes lined with cellars.
The best place for outdoor swimming is the “lagoon” in
Pasohlávky; others prefer the swimming pools and water
amusement in Mikulov or nearby Březí. Pasohlávky offers
a thermal pool with mineral waters.

Along its strong network of biking routes, the Mikulov region emerges as a picturesque country of wine, natural
beauty, and historical monuments, plus many excellent cultural events, and an inimitable atmosphere. Long
distance bike routes such as Greenways Prague — Vienna, the Amber Trial, or the Moravian Wine Trails tie into
local routes like the Mikulov Wine Trial or the bike route around the Nové Mlýny Reservoirs. The immediate local
area is noteworthy as well — the routes in the Lednice-Valtice area or through the region of the Weinviertel in
neighboring Lower Austria.

Mezi sportovními rybáři mají Novomlýnské nádrže vynikající
zvuk, protože právě zde se každoročně několika š astlivcům
poštěstí vytáhnout kapitální kapry, sumce, amury či štiky.

guten Klang, denn gerade hier gelingt es alljährlich einigen

The Novomlýnské Reservoirs has an excellent reputation
among sports fishermen for the record-sized European carp,
European catfish, amur, and pike that lucky anglers have
pulled out of its waters.
Pavlov
Pavlov proslavila hlavně zdejší vína a památková rezervace,
ale v posledních letech se stává také centrem vodních sportů,
především jachtingu, windsurfingu a nově kite-surfingu.

Pavlov is famous mainly for its wine and its rustic Baroque
architecture. In recent years it has become a center for water
sports such as yachting, windsurfing, and kite-surfing.

Moravská vinná stezka
Cyklotrasa kolem ATC Merkur Pasohlávky
280 km dlouhá cyklotrasa spojuje města Znojmo a Uherské
Hradiště. Na Mikulovsku prochází Moravská vinná stezka těmito
obcemi a městy: Drnholec — Novosedly — Dobré Pole — Březí —
Mikulov — Klentnice — Pavlov a Dolní Věstonice.
Nenáročný cyklistický okruh má dvě varianty — delší 27 km
a kratší o délce 16 km. Okruhy začínají u ATC Merkur Pasohlávky
a pokračují kolem Střední (Věstonické) nádrže. Trasa kratšího
okruhu se potom vrací do výchozího bodu, zatímco delší trasa
pokračuje kolem Horní (Mušovské) nádrže.
Mährischer Winzerpfad
Radroute rund um den ATC Merkur Pasohlávky
An den 280 km langen die Städte Znojmo und Uherské Hradiště
verbindenden Mährischen Winzerpfad (die Radroute) knüpfen
weitere zehn Radringe an. Der Mährische Winzerpfad führt
durch Drnholec — Novosedly — Dobré Pole — Březí — Mikulov —
Klentnice — Pavlov und Dolní Věstonice.
Der unanspruchsvolle Radring hat zwei Varianten — eine längere
(27 km) und eine kürzere (16 km). Der Startpunkt für beide
Radringe ist ATC Merkur Pasohlávky. Die Strecken führen rund
um den mittleren Stausee Nové Mlýny, von dem die Benutzer
der kürzeren Strecke zum Startpunkt zurückkehren und
die anderen fahren weiter, rund um den oberen Stausee und
zurück.
Moravian Wine Trail
The 280 km-long Moravian Wine Trail bicycle route links the
towns of Znojmo and Uherské Hradiště. The Moravian Wine
Trail passes through these villages and towns: Drnholec —
Novosedly — Dobré Pole — Březí — Mikulov — Klentnice — Pavlov
and Dolní Věstonice.
Naučná vinařská stezka Mikulov
Stezka dlouhá asi 20 km nabízí unikátní možnost seznámit se
s taji vinařství pod Pálavou. Jejím výchozím bodem a první
zastávkou je parkoviště pod mikulovským náměstím. Trasa
vede přes historické centrum Mikulova do vinařských obcí pod
Pálavou: Bavory — Perná — Horní Věstonice — Dolní Věstonice —
Pavlov — Klentnice.
Bicycle trail around ATC Merkur Pasohlávky
This easy bicycle circuit has two variants — a longer one of 27 km
and a shorter of 16 km. The circuits begin at ATC Merkur
Pasohlávky and continue around the middle Nové Mlýny
Reservoir. The route of the shorter circuit returns us the starting
point, while the longer circuit continues around the upper
Nové Mlýny Reservoir.

Möglichkeit, ins verborgene des Weinbaus unterhalb der Pollauer

82 km dlouhá cyklotrasa je vedena nejzajímavějšími místy
v centru mikulovské vinařské podoblasti. Trasa na Mikulovsku

a biosférické rezervace Dolní Morava a vede těmito obcemi

This 82 km bicycle route takes you through the most interesting places in the center of the Mikulov winemaking area.
The route passes through the protected landscape area of

Jen pár kilometrů od Mikulovska leží památka světového
dědictví UNESCO — Lednicko-valtický areál. Za návštěvu určitě
stojí lednický zámek a park, který si můžete prohlédnout pěšky
nebo z paluby člunu. Minout byste neměli zámek ve Valticích
a zdejší Salon vín České republiky, ani desítky drobných staveb
rozesetých po parkové krajině mezi oběma centry.
Nač se můžete těšit při putování po Weinviertelu? Tak
například na městečko Laa a. d. Thaya, kde můžete navštívit
hrad, Biermuseum nebo se osvěžit v novém aquacentru, nebo
na vinařskou vesničku Falkenstein se stejnojmennou zříceninou
hradu, sklepním muzeem a vinařskou naučnou stezkou
s 65 vinnými lisy.
Das Areal von Lednice und Valtice
Weinviertel
Nur paar Kilometer von Mikulov entfernt liegt das Areal von
Lednice und Valtice, eine UNESCO-Welterbestätte. Sehenswert
ist sicher das Schloss Lednice mit dem umgebenden Park,
entweder zu Fuß oder vom Boot. Sie sollten sich auch das
Schloss in Valtice und den hiesigen Weinsalon oder verschiedene
in der Parkanlage zwischen den beiden Zentren zerstreute
Kleinbauten nicht entgehen lassen.
Worauf können Sie sich beim Wandern durch das Weinviertel
freuen? In der kleinen Stadt Laa/ Thaya können Sie die Burg
oder das Biermuseum besuchen oder sich im Aquazentrum
"Therme" erfrischen. Sehenswert sind auch das Winzerdorf
und die Burgruine Falkenstein, das Weinkellermuseum oder der
Winzerlehrpfad mit 65 ausgestellten Weinpressen.
Lednice-Valtice area
What does the Weinviertel hold in store? In the town of Laa
a. d. Thaya you can visit the castle, the Biermuseum, or refresh
yourself at the new aquacenter. Not far away lies the little wine
village of Falkenstein with its fantastic castle ruins, wine cellar
museum, and instructional wine trail with 65 historic wine
presses.
Just a few kilometers from Mikulov lies the Lednice-Valtice area,
a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The chateau and park in Lednice
can be toured on foot, and you can take a boat ride on the
ponds and river. The chateau in Valtice holds the Czech
Republic Wine Salon, and there are a dozen or so romantic
historical structures set into the landscape in the old estate
between the two castles.
