Forage quality.
Every crop has its own specific requirements. Maximising the
feed rate for an optimum crop flow is the priority for most harvest crops, but for alfalfa, ultra-gentle handling is paramount.

Variable speed adjustment allows rotor filling to be optimised
via the PFS. The hydraulic PFS has a higher speed than the
mechanical version, feeding the crop faster into the rotor.
User-friendly operation.
As well as being able to adjust the speed, the driver can also
clear any blockages in front of the rotor via the control terminal, without even having to get out of the seat. This makes the

Automatic baling pressure control
The automatic baling pressure system detects and
displays the load on the baler frame and knotters.
The sensor on the baler frame transmits one of the
two control values, and the load is displayed to the
driver on the operating terminal.
With an automatic baling pressure control system,
there are a total of three knotter sensors, which
provide the second control value.

New channel concept for high density.
The new, reinforced octagon in the QUADRANT 5200 and

The new baling ram design makes for even sharper-cornered
bales. With the side retainers, the new upper pressure plate
and the new side panels, all bales reach the maximum density
level, with uniform length and bale expansion on the same
side, resulting in more reliable tying on ejection.
All in all, the new QUADRANT 5200 and 4200 machines produce uniformly high-density bales with optimum mass per

Bale chamber | DUO PACK
New chamber concept for high density.
The harvested crop is highly compacted in the bale chamber
to produce solid, stable bales with hydraulic adjustment of the
baling channel from the comfort of the cab. Each bale is compressed and shaped to a uniform density and length; the perfect result for a balanced and seamless truck-loading procedure.
Smooth drop.
Important information for all contact balers: with the optional
bale ejector, the bale chamber is fully cleared, since it also
ejects the last two bales.
When it comes to cleaning and preparing the baler for winter,
too, nothing remains behind. You can control the bale ejector
directly on the exterior of the baler.
The roller bale chute slides the bales gently onto the field.
Two bales in one go.
With the DUO PACK bale accumulator hooked up, two bales
can be stacked one on top of the other and subsequently
deposited onto the field as a large-size stack. This produces
stacks 80 cm in width and 100 cm in height that can be
loaded directly onto conveyor vehicles using suitable clamps.

Perfect knots.
Legendary.
CLAAS received its very first patent for a knotter hook,
which was awarded a DGL medal in 1921.
The original principle of the knotter was invented in
1861, and more than 1 million of them have now been
made.
Both of these inventions are further enhanced in the
new QUADRANT machines, to operate reliability with
any type of twine, in all operating conditions.

Economic efficiency.
CLAAS baling twine is specifically designed for CLAAS knotters. The twine is highly tear-resistant and sufficiently flexible to
minimise wear to the knotter. With each new refilling, four
twine spools per knotter can be tied together without having
to alternate between them, which saves time. An intelligent
balance of high knot tightness and efficient run length makes
CLAAS baling twine a cost-effective choice. CLAAS baling
twine is available for all balers, and for different operating conditions.
Outstanding knotter cleaning.
The dual fan of the QUADRANT 4000 removes unwanted
stalk parts, short straw and dust from the knotter area to
ensure perfect work results and outstanding functional reliability even in extremely dry conditions. What’s more, the system
virtually eliminates the time required for cleaning.
The hydraulically driven TURBO FAN system in the QUADRANT 5200 and 4200 protects the knotters against contamination with a constant 140-km/h airflow, ensuring the uniform
cleaning of all knotters.
Productive.
The QUADRANT's generously dimensioned twine boxes open
up at the side for easier access during twine replacements
and for cleaning the machine.
In the QUADRANT 5200 and 4200, the twine boxes are
loaded with 24 11.5-kg spools, and in the QUADRANT 4000
with 16 11.5-kg spools – more than enough for a long day in
the field.
And when night starts to draw in, bright work lights placed by
the twine guides and knotters keep everything well lit.

Strength plus protection.
The knotter hook, twine retainer wheel and retainer plate have undergone a heating process during their manufacture to ensure

NEW: knotter monitoring system.
Combining with the new CLAAS knotter to ensure total tying
reliability is the automatic baling pressure control. There are
two sets of sensors: on the the knotter, to monitor the twine
tension, and on the front frame, to measure the bending
forces. The system adjusts the baling pressure automatically
according to the load. That means you can operate the baler
right up to the limit, without the twine breaking. And if a breakage does occur, this is displayed on your control panel by the
knotter monitoring system.
The knotter sensors also detect when a fresh supply of twine
is needed, and a message is displayed accordingly.

simply isn't an issue for QUADRANT owners.
−− With or without OPERATOR, optional automatic continuous
central grease lubrication at 45 lubrication points
In the QUADRANT 5200 and 4200, everything is designed
either to be easy to maintain or to require no maintenance at all.
Exclusive to CLAAS: the steered tandem axle is also main-
−− In the QUADRANT 5200, all key lubrication points have
tained by the central lubrication system.
automatic continuous central grease lubrication as standard, while for the QUADRANT 4200 there is a choice of
automatic or electrical central lubrication
−− Drives and overload clutches operate in an oil bath
−− The hydraulically controlled packer tines are
maintenance-free
−− The drive has only a minimal number of moving parts
