Kroměříž a UNESCO
Kroměříž byla po staletí letním sídlem olomouckých biskupů a arcibiskupů. Vizionářský přístup řady
z nich vedl od 17. století k nebývalému rozvoji města.
Díky tomu patří dnes Kroměříž k předním historickým
městům České republiky. Centrum města je městskou
památkovou rezervací a komplex Arcibiskupského zámku, Květné a Podzámecké zahrady je národní kulturní
památkou zapsanou i na Seznam světového kulturního
a přírodního dědictví UNESCO.

For centuries, Kroměříž has been
the summer seat of the Olomouc
bishops and archbishops. Thanks
to the visionary approach many
of them embraced, from the 17th
century the city recorded extraordinary development. The above
made Kroměříž one of today’s
foremost historical towns in the Czech Republic. The
town centre is a town heritage zone and the complex of
the Archbishop’s Castle, Floral and Castle Gardens are
a national cultural monument inscribed in the UNESCO
World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.

17. Jahrhundert zu einem außergewöhnlichen Aufschwung der Stadt. Deshalb gehört Kroměříž heute zu

Thanks to being set in
Eastern Haná and to
the fact that Kroměříž is
teeming with culture and
art, the town is called
the Athens of Haná. The
Velké Square is home to
Kroměříž Region Museum, which presents the history
of the town and features a new, modern exhibition
in the cellars. Visitors will also find here the renown
Arcade Gallery and above all the Monument of Max
Švabinský, whose six halls map the life and art of the
famous native to Kroměříž. Švabinský’s legacy is apparent throughout all of Kroměříž. For instance the wall of
the courtyard of the Octárna hotel houses four captivating mosaic lunettes, originally intended to decorate
the National Theatre in Prague. Kroměříž also means
town squares. Vibrant with life, they hold a number of
interesting events throughout the entire year. Kroměříž
is also filled with churches, appealing for their artistic
value and concerts that are often organized inside.

Informační centrum v Kroměříži připravilo řadu zajímavých tras a programů. Programy jsou půldenní nebo
celodenní a je možné je absolvovat jak samostatně, tak
i s výkladem průvodce. V nabídce jsou také programy
na míru, např. pro školy, skupiny turistů, ať již se všeobecným přehledem nebo úzce tematicky zaměřené,
např. na zahradní architekturu.

Hanácké Atény a Švabinský
Poloha Kroměříže na východní Hané a prosycenost
města kulturou a uměním mu vtiskly přízvisko Hanácké Atény. Přímo na Velkém náměstí najdete Muzeum
Kroměřížska, nabízející poznání historie města včetně
nové, moderní expozice ve sklepeních. Najdete zde
i vyhlášenou Galerii v podloubí, ale především Památník Maxe Švabinského, mapující tvůrčí život slavného
kroměřížského rodáka v šesti sálech. Odkaz Švabinského je patrný v celé Kroměříži. Např. na zdi nádvoří hotelu Octárna jsou umístěny jeho uchvacující mozaikové
lunety, původně určené pro výzdobu Národního divadla
v Praze. Kroměříž, to jsou také náměstí. Zde tepe život
a probíhá po celý rok řada zajímavých akcí. Kroměříž
jsou ale také kostely, přitahující jak uměleckou hodnotou, tak i koncerty, které se zde často konají.

Hier finden Sie auch die bekannte Galerie V podloubí
und auch die Max Švabinský
Gedenkstätte, die in sechs Räumen das Schaffen des
berühmten Sohns der Stadt zeigt. Das Vermächtnis
Švabinský ist in der ganzen Stadt allgegenwärtig. Im
Hof des Hotels Octárna sind seine überwältigenden
Mosaiklünetten angebracht, die ursprünglich das Nationaltheater in Prag schmücken sollten. Kroměříž, das
sind auch die Plätze der Stadt. Hier pulsiert das Leben
und hier finden interessante Veranstaltungen statt.

Schlossgalerie
Die Schlossgalerie bietet die
zweitbedeutendste Gemäldesammlung in der Tschechischen
Republik. Sie umfasst Werke von
der Gotik bis zum Barock, über
500 Gemälde haben außergewöhnlichen Kunstwert im Europamaßstab. Lucas Cranach der
Ältere, Jan Brueghel, Anthonys
van Dyck, Paolo Caliari genannt
Veronese, das ist nur eine kurze Aufzählung der berühmten
Künstler, deren Gemälde Sie hier sehen können. Wertvollstes Werk der Sammlung ist das Gemälde des Meisters Tizian Vecellia aus Venedig Apollo und Marsyas.

Der Stadt dominiert das Schloss. Es bietet eine Reihe
prunkvoller historischer Säle. Einige davon werden Sie
vielleicht aus dem Film Amadeus von Miloš Forman kennen. Der wertvollste und wohl auch der schönste Rokokosaal in der Tschechischen Republik ist der 13 m hohe
Parlamentssaal. Einzigartig ist auch die Schlossbibliothek
mit 90 Tausend Bänden. Sie gehört zu den wertvollsten
Sammlungen in der Republik. Nicht weniger interessant
ist auch die Handschriftenkollektion. Die ältesten stammen aus dem Beginn des 9. Jahrhunderts. Die Musiksammlung umfasst auch Werke von W. A. Mozart.

Arcibiskupský zámek
V podzemí, v šestimetrové hloubce, ukrývá zámek rozsáhlé vinné sklepy, které byly založeny již v roce 1266
a mešní vína zde zrají v historických dřevěných sudech.
Prostory vinotéky ve sklepích i přímo na zámku nabízejí
k ochutnání i koupi všechny druhy zdejších vín.

Zámek dominuje Kroměříži a nabízí k vidění řadu skvostných historických sálů. Některé z nich budete možná
znát z filmů, např. film Amadeus od Miloše Formana.
Nejcennější ze sálů, a patrně
nejkrásnější rokokový sál v České republice, je 13 m vysoký
Sněmovní sál. Unikátní je i zámecká knihovna, obsahující 90 tisíc svazků a patřící k nejcennějším fondům v České republice. Neméně zajímavá
je i kolekce rukopisů, z nichž nejstarší pochází z počátku
9. století. Hudební sbírka zahrnuje i dílo W. A. Mozarta.

The dominant feature of Kroměříž, the castle boasts
a number of impressive historical rooms. Some of them
you may know from films such as Amadeus by Miloš
Forman. The most valuable and probably the most sensational Czech Rococo hall is the 13 m high Parliament
Hall. Likewise the castle library containing 90 thousand
books and ranking among the most valuable funds in
the Czech Republic is unique. A collection of manuscripts, of which the oldest dates back to the beginning
of the 9th century is equally interesting. The music collection also includes works by W. A. Mozart.

Zámecká obrazárna
Obrazárna nabízí druhou nejvýznamnější sbírku obrazů
v České republice. Obsahuje díla od gotiky až po baroko a více jak 500 obrazů má mimořádnou uměleckou
hodnotu a patří k předním v Evropě. Lucas Cranach
starší, Jan Brueghel, Anthonis van Dyck, Paolo Caliari
zvaný Veronese, to je jen krátký výčet jmen věhlasných
umělců, jejichž obrazy můžete vidět. Nejcennějším dílem sbírky je obraz benátského mistra Tiziana Vecellia
s názvem Apollo a Marsyas.
Biskupská mincovna
Ojedinělá kolekce více než deseti tisíc kusů mincí
a medailí, mincí církevních rytířských řádů, medailí
církevních bratrstev aj. Zajímavostí je, že jde o druhou
nejvýznamnější sbírku církevních ražeb na světě, hned
po sbírce vatikánské.

Underground, six metres deep, the castle conceals extensive wine cellars founded as early as in 1266. Sacramental wines age here in historical wooden casks.
The wine shops in the cellars and directly at the castle
offer tastings and sales of all types of the local wine.

Erzbischöflicher Schlosswein
Unter der Erde in einer Tiefe von sechs Metern erstreckt sich ein weitläufiger Weinkeller, der schon im
Jahre 1266 angelegt wurde. Die Messweine reifen hier
in historischen Holzfässern. Die Weinstuben im Keller
und auch direkt im Schloss bieten zum Probieren und
Kaufen alle hiesigen Weine.

Castle Picture Gallery
The picture gallery presents the second most important painting collection in the Czech Republic. It
contains works from Gothic up to Baroque; over 500
paintings are of a remarkable artistic value, belonging
to the foremost in Europe. Lucas Cranach the Elder,
Jan Brueghel, Anthonis van Dyck, Paolo Caliari called
Veronese, just to name a few of celebrated artists
whose paintings you can see. The most precious work
of the collection is the painting Apollo and Marsyas by
Venetian master Titian Vecellio.
A singular collection of more than ten thousand coins
and medals, coins of religious orders of knights, medals of religious confraternities, etc. An interesting fact
is that it is the second most significant collection of
Church coins in the world after the Vatican.
Bischöfliches Münzhaus
Außergewöhnliche Kollektion aus über zehntausend
Münzen und Medaillen, Münzen von Kirchen- und
Rittersorden, Medaillen von Ordensbrüderschaften
u. a. Interessante. Es handelt sich um die zweitbedeutendste Sammlung kirchlicher Prägungen auf der Welt,
gleich nach der Sammlung des Vatikans.

Zámecké zahrady
Jedinečná kombinace zámku a zahradní architektury
Podzámecké a Květné zahrady vytváří jeden z nejvýznamnějších areálů tohoto druhu v Evropě. Unikátnost
celého komplexu byla důvodem k zapsání zahrad a zámku v Kroměříži na Seznam světového kulturního a přírodního dědictví UNESCO v roce 1998.

Gardens form one of the most
prominent locations of this
kind in Europe. The singularity
of the whole complex was the
reason to have the Kroměříž
gardens and castle inscribed in
the UNESCO World Cultural and
Natural Heritage List in 1998.
Schlossgärten
Die wunderschöne Kombination des Schlosses und der
Gartenarchitektur des Schlossgartens und des Blumengartens machen aus diesem Areal eines der bedeutendsten in ganz Europa. Die Einzigartigkeit des gesamten
Komplexes war Grund für die Eintragung der Gärten und
des Schlosses in das Verzeichnis des Weltkultur- und Naturerbes der UNESCO im Jahre 1998.

Podzámecká zahrada
Podzámecká zahrada přiléhá k zámku a byla založena
již v roce 1509. Během několika století byla mnohokrát
upravována a rozšířila se do impozantních 64 hektarů.
Dnes představuje stylový krajinářský park s romantickými stavbami, je zde vysázeno přes 200 druhů vzácných stromů z různých částí světa.
Castle Gardens
The Castle Gardens adjoining the castle were founded
back in 1509. They were modified numerous times
over several centuries, expanding into the impressive
64 hectares. Today they represent a stylish landscaped
park with romantic structures and more than 200 rare
tree species from various parts of the world.
Schlossgarten
Der Schlossgarten erstreckt sich am Schloss. Er wurde
schon im Jahre 1509 angelegt. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte wurde er vielfach geändert und auf imposante
64 Hektar erweitert. Heute ist es ein wunderschöner
Landschaftspark mit romantischen Bauten. Es wurden
hier über 200 Arten seltener Bäumen aus verschiedensten Teilen der Welt angepflanzt.
Květná zahrada
Je výjimečným dílem a představuje přelomovou fázi
evrop­ského zahradního umění. Jde o přechod od pozdně renesančních italských zahrad k zahradám barokně
klasicist­ním francouzského typu. Květná zahrada byla
založena v roce 1665 na půdorysu protáh­lého obdélníku o rozměrech 300 x 485 metrů. Architektonickými
dominantami jsou dvě stavby. První z nich je rotunda,
jejíž sochařská a malířská výzdoba čerpá náměty z antické mytolo­gie. Uvnitř rotundy je Foucaultovo kyvadlo,
které dokazuje otáčení Země kolem osy a je jedním
ze čtyř kyva­del tohoto druhu na světě. Druhou domi­
nantou je 244 metrů dlouhá kolonáda s 90 sochařskými díly s antickými náměty. Ochoz kolonády slouží jako
vyhlídkové místo.
Floral Garden
A unique work, it represents the groundbreaking era of
European landscape architecture. It involved a transition
from Late Renaissance Italian gardens to Baroque-Classicism French-style gardens. The Floral Garden was established in 1665 with a ground plan in the shape of a long
rectangle, measuring 300 x 485 metres. Two structures
are the dominant architectural features. The first is a rotunda, the sculptures and paintings of which depict mythological scenes. Inside the rotunda there is a Foucault’s
pendulum that demonstrates the rotation of the earth on
its axis. There are only four such pendulums of this kind
in the world. The other structure is a 244 metres long colonnade with 90 sculptures with themes from antiquity.
The colonnade gallery serves as an observation point.
Blumengarten
Er ist ein einzigartiges Werk und stellt die Umbruchphase der europäischen Gartenkunst dar. Es ist der Übergang
von den italienischen Spätrenaissancegärten zu Gärten im
französischen barock-klassizistischen Stil. Der Blumengarten wurde im Jahre 1665 auf dem Grundriss eines langgezogenen Rechtecks 300 x 485 m angelegt. Architektonische
Dominante sind zwei Bauten. Der erste ist die Rotunde,
deren plastische und malerische Verzierung aus Themen
der antiken Mythologie schöpft. In der Rotunde befindet
sich ein Foucaultsches Pendel, das die Drehung der Erde
um ihre Achse nachweist und eins von vier dieser Pendel
auf der Welt ist. Zweite Dominante ist die 244 Meter lange
Kolonnade mit 90 Plastiken antiker Thematik. Die Galerie
der Kolonnade bietet eine schöne Aussicht.

Kroměříž is crossed by long-distance bike trail No. 47.
In 2010, a unique bike path leading along the Morava
River and Baťa Canal was opened on this trail in toward the south. It is 80 kilometres long, leading from
Kroměříž all the way to Hodonín. Almost the whole trail
is paved so the trail is suitable for in-line skating as well
as for families with children, who will appreciate the almost absolute flatness and safe terrain. However, there
are other options where to go by bike from Kroměříž
– to a Celtic fortified settlement called Hradisko or to
the Záhlinice Ponds nature preserve. More information
available at the Kroměříž Information Centre. Bikes can
be rented here and at the train station.
Kam za sportem
Kroměříž je místem nejen jedinečných památek, vína
a kultury, ale také řady možností pro odpočinek, zábavu, sport i adrenalin. Téměř ideálním místem pro
koupání, plážový volejbal, volejbal, nohejbal i tenis
je v Kroměříži sportovně rekreační areál Bajda, nacházející se v těsném sousedství zámku a Podzámecké
zahrady. Můžete také vyjet na výlet lodí po řece Moravě, zažít trochu adrenalinu při vyhlídkovém letu nebo
vyrazit na kolečkových bruslích po asfaltových úsecích

perfect for swimming, beach volleyball, volleyball, football-tennis, and tennis. Tourists can also go on a boat
trip down the Morava River, experience adventure on

a sightseeing flight or put on in-line skates and test
the asphalt sections of one of the bike trails. There are

Kroměříží prochází Moravská dálková cyklotrasa č. 47.
V roce 2010 byla na této trase směrem na jih otevřena
unikátní cyklostezka podél řeky Moravy a Baťova kanálu. Je dlouhá 80 kilometrů, cyklisté po ní projedou
z Kroměříže až do Hodonína. Téměř na celé trase převládá asfaltový povrch, takže stezka je vhodná i pro
in-line bruslaře a rodiny s dětmi, které ocení takřka
absolutní rovinu a bezpečný terén. Jsou ale i další možnosti kam z Kroměříže na kole – směrem na keltské
hradiště u obce s příznačným jménem Hradisko nebo
k přírodní rezervaci Záhlinické rybníky. Informace žádejte v Informačním centru Kroměříž. Zde, stejně tak

Durch Kroměříž läuft der Mährische Fernradweg Nr. 47.
Im Jahre 2010 wurde hier entlang der Morava und des
Baťa-Kanals ein Radweg fertig gestellt. Er ist 80 Kilometer lang und führt von Kroměříž bis nach Hodonín.
Fast auf der gesamten Strecke überwiegt Asphaltbelag, so ist der Weg auch für Inlineskater und Familien
mit Kindern geeignet, die auch die absolute Ebenheit
und Sicherheit des Terrains schätzen werden. Es gibt
aber auch andere Möglichkeiten für Radausflüge – in
Richtung der keltischen Burgstätte an der Gemeinde
Hradisko oder zur Naturreservation Záhlinické rybníky

is said to have been born in a large piece of grain. What
draws tourists to the chateau most is its unequalled
collection of weapons from the 17th century and
the Ječmínek Hall recalling the old legend of the Haná
king. Other interesting features include an exhibition of
important natives, composer Emil Axman and in particular painter Emil Filla, founder of Czech modern art and
one of the leading representatives of Cubism in Central
Europe. The chateau neighbours with the Chropyně
Pond, a national nature preserve, with plentiful rare

The tourism and recreation centre with a guesthouse
is to be found at a crossroads of ancient trade routes,
directly on the Chřiby ridge. The area surrounding Bunč features many points of interest, including the Jeřabčina Rock – known as the Vylízaná Skála
(Licked Rock), the Brdo lookout tower, Komínské skály
Rocks, Roštín Chapel or a well aptly called U Lvích
tlam (At the Lions’ Mouths). These and other gems of

and e.g. at the beginning of every July, Holešov becomes the starting point for the Drásal Bike Marathon
of Česká Spořitelna insurance company, which is one of

Židovské památky Holešova (synagoga a hřbitov)
představují jedny z nejstarších, nejcennějších a nejlépe dochovaných památek svého druhu v České republice. Šachova synagoga byla vystavěna po r. 1560
a prošla řadou přestaveb. Dnešní podoba pochází
z 1. pol. 18. stol. V synagoze je umístěna expozice Židé
a Morava. Nedaleko od synagogy se nachází židovský
hřbitov s více jak 1 500 náhrobky. Nejznámější osobností zde pohřbenou je rabín Sabbataj ben Meir haKohen, zvaný Šach, který proslul řadou významných
spisů a je celosvětově uznáván jako ideový předchůdce
východoevropských Chasidů.

Some of the most important in the Czech Republic
The Jewish landmarks in Holešov (the synagogue and
cemetery) represent sone of the oldest, most valuable,
and best preserved monuments of its kind in the Czech
Republic. Erected after 1560, the Šach Synagogue underwent numerous reconstructions. The present look
can be traced back to the 1st half of the 18th century.
The synagogue houses the exhibit “Jews in Moravia”.
Not far from the synagogue there is a Jewish cemetery
with more than 1,500 graves. The best known person
to be buried here is Rabbi Sabbataj ben Meir ha-Kohen,
called Šach, famous for a number of influential texts
and globally recognised as the forerunner of ideology of
the Eastern European Hassidic Jews.

Svatý Hostýn (735 m n. m.) je nejvýše položeným mariánským poutním místem na Moravě. Po tři století je cílem tisíců poutníků. Zdaleka viditelnou dominantou
Hostýna je bazilika Nanebevzetí Panny Marie. Unikátní
je i křížová cesta, dílo věhlasného architekta Dušana
Jurkoviče. Na výzdobě se podíleli neméně slavní umělci jako Joža Uprka nebo Jano Köhler. Ujít si nenechte
výstup na rozhlednu, která nabízí výhled nejen na Hostýnské vrchy, ale i na Bystřici pod Hostýnem a okolí.
V areálu poutních domů pak zamiřte do Svatohostýnského muzea, které představuje vývoj Hostýna od prehistorie až po současnost. Svatý Hostýn je sítí poutních
stezek spojen s dalšími dvěma mariánskými poutními
