Project description, actual state of preparations
Bei einem gemeinsamen Künstlersymposium in der Burg Dagestein in Vilseck werden sich sechs
internationale Künstler mit dem Thema „Historische Wege“ auseinandersetzen. Geplant sind LandArt-Werke und Objekte für neugeschaffene Kunstpfade in unmittelbarer Nähe der alten
Handelsstraßen, im Bereich „Vilsaue“ - zwischen Burg Dagestein und Vils.
Außerdem wird ein ganzjähriges Begleitprogramm für Gäste entwickelt.
V rámci společného uměleckého sympózia na hradě Dagestein ve Vilsecku by se mělo 6
mezinárodních umělců zabývat tématem „Historické cesty“. Plánována jsou landartová díla a objekty
pro nově vytvořené umělecké stezky v bezprostřední blízkosti starých obchodních cest, v oblasti
„Vilsaue“ - mezi hradem Dagestein a Vils. Kromě toho bude sestaven doprovodný program pro
zúčastněné umělce a hosty.
At a joint artists symposium in the castle Burg Dagestein in Vilseck six international artists will face up
to the motto "Historic routes". Planned are Land-Art-Works and objects for a newly created way along
artworks close by the historic routes - between the castle Burg Dagestein and the river Vils. Moreover
an extensive program for guests is being offered all the year round.

Die Burg Dagestein ist der ideale Veranstaltungsort für beide Dachprojekte „Kulturorte und
Musikbrücke 2015“. Seit Jahrhunderten trägt die Burg Dagestein zur Völkerverbindung bei. Sie liegt
direkt an der alten Handelsstraße von Nürnberg nach Eger. Und insbesondere im 16. Jhdt. bot sie
Reisenden Schutz, die auf dem Trassenband der „Goldenen Straße“ von Nürnberg nach Prag
unterwegs waren. Heute dient die historische Anlage mit ihren vielseitigen Räumlichkeiten als
Kulturzentrum. Im Kasten Nord-Ost hat der Musikverein sein dauerhaftes Domizil, der sich auch am
Projekt „Musikbrücke 2015“ beteiligt.
„Kunst in der Burg“ ist das Motto für regelmäßige Kunstausstellungen. Höhepunkt waren 2007 zwei
Ausstellungen in Zusammenarbeit mit der Landesausstellung in Zwiesel „Bayern-Böhmen 1500 Jahre
Nachbarschaft“. Im Zehentkasten wurden zwei Ausstellungen - sog. Treffpunkte entlang der
Goldenen Straße - präsentiert: „Die Goldene Straße“ und „Akanthusaltäre“. Ergänzend dazu
erwartete die Besucher ein ganzjähriges abwechslungsreiches Rahmenprogramm mit Aktionstagen
zu den Themenbereichen.
Hrad Dagestein je ideálním místem pro konání obou zastřešujících projektů „Kulturní místa a hudební
most 2015“- Již po staletí přispívá hrad Dagestein k propojení národů. Leží přímo na staré obchodní
cestě z Norimberka do Chebu, která obzvlášť v 16. století poskytovala ochranu cestujícím na trase
„Zlaté cesty“ z Norimberka do Prahy. Dnes slouží toto historické zařízení s rozmanitými prostory jako
kulturní centrum. V severovýchodní části hradu má své sídlo hudební spolek, jež se také podílí na
projektu „Hudební most 2015“.

„Umění na hradě“ je motto pro pravidelné umělecké výstavy. Vrcholem byly v roce 2007 2 výstavy ve
spolupráci se zemskou výstavou ve Zwieselu “Bavorsko-Čechy 1500 let sousedství“. V
„Zehentkasten“ byly prezentovány dvě výstavy – tzv. Místa setkávání podél Zlaté cesty: „Zlatá cesta“
a „Akantové oltáře“. Doplňkem pro návštěvníky byl celoroční rozmanitý program se speciálními dny,
kdy se konaly tematické akce.
The castle Burg Dagestein is the perfect place for this event. For hundreds of years the castle
contributes to international understanding. Many merchants and travellers travelling from Nuremberg
to Prague made use of the historical trade routes near by. Today the old building with many
interesting rooms is a cultural center.

Vilsaue - zwischen Burg Dagestein und Vils
Die Vilsaue liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe der historischen Handelswege nach Nürnberg, Bamberg,
Eger, Pilsen und Prag.
Vom 15. bis ins 20. Jhdt. schützte hier der Stadtweiher die Bewohner vor Eindringlingen. Der Weiher
wurde wieder aufgelassen und die Natur hat sich das Gelände zurückerobert. Die Grünzone eignet
sich hervorragend für die Anlage von Kunstpfaden.
Vilsaue – mezi hradem Dagesteinem a Vils (viz příloha – situační plán)
Vilsaue leží v bezprostřední blízkosti historické obchodní cesty do Norimberka, Bamberku, Chebu,
Plzně a Prahy.
Od 15. do 20. století zde chránil obyvatele před vetřelci rybník. Rybník byl znovu vypuštěn a příroda
získala zpět své území. Zelená zóna se výborně hodí pro založení uměleckých stezek.
Vilsaue - between castle "Burg Dagestein" and Vils (river)
The Vilsaue is in close vicinity to the historical trade routes to Nuremberg, Bamberg, Eger (Cheb),
Pilsen (Plzen) and Prague. From the 15th until the 20th century a big town pond protected the
citizens against enemies. The green belt is an outstanding area for creating new ways along aritist
works.

2.2. Umsetzung | Realizace | Realization
Dauerausstellung der beim Symposium entstandenen Werke
Bis Ende 2014 wird der Wasserlauf der Vils vom Wasserwirtschaftsamt renaturiert. Unmittelbar vor
dem Projekt, wird das Gelände umgestaltet und für die Kunstpfade vorbereitet. Im Vorfeld kann somit
auf spezielle Wünsche der Künstler eingegangen werden. Denn hier in der Vilsaue werden die beim
Symposium entstandenen Werke dauerhaft ausgestellt, bzw. direkt an Ort und Stelle als „Land-Art“
umgesetzt. Die Einbeziehung von Wasser ist für die teilnehmenden Künstler eine zusätzliche kreative
Herausforderung.
Stálá výstava děl vzniklých na sympóziu.
Do konce roku 2013 bude uveden vodní tok Vils vodohospodářským úřadem do původního stavu. V
roce 2014, tedy bezprostředně před projektem, bude území přestavěno a připraveno pro umělecké
stezky. V přípravném stádiu tedy mohou být zohledněna speciální přání umělců. Zde ve Vilsaue
budou totiž vystavena díla vzniklá na sympoziu, popř. realizována přímo s ohledem na konkrétní
místo jakožto „Land-art“. Začlenění vody je pro zúčastněné umělce dodatečnou kreativní výzvou.
Permanent exhibition for the created works at the symposium
Until the end of 2014 the river Vils is renaturated. Directly before the symposium the area will be
transformed. So artists can express particular wishes. Another artistic challenge is the inclusion of
water.
3. Konditionen für Künstler | Podmínky pro umělce | Conditions for artists
3.1. Unterbringung und Verpflegung | Ubytování a strava | board and lodgings
Die Künstler wohnen in einem Hotel, bzw. einer Pension in Vilseck, damit sie ihre Arbeitsplätze in der
Burg fußläufig erreichen können. Die Übernachtung mit Frühstück ist kostenlos. Als Verpflegung ist
ein Tagessatz vorgesehen.
Všech šest umělců bude bydlet podle možnosti v hotelu, popř. v penzionu ve Vilsecku, aby mohli na
svá pracovní místa na hradě chodit pěšky. Přenocování se snídaní je zdarma. Na stravu se plánuje
na osobu za den.
The artists are lodging in a hotel or pension in town.The ateliers are within walking distance. We offer
free lodging and a daily rate for food.
3.2. Gage | Honorář | Fee
Nach heutigem Stand sollen alle Künstler ein festes Honorar erhalten. Änderungen sind aber noch
möglich. Auch die Fahrtkosten werden zum Teil übernommen.
Dle současného stavu by měli umělci obdržet maximální honorář. Změny jsou však možné. Také
cestovné bude částečně proplaceno.
As of today every artist receive a fixed fee. Change is still possible.Travelling costs are paid in part.
3.3. Werbung | Reklama | public relations
Dieses Projekt wurde von der Programmdirektion als besonders unterstützenswertes Top-Projekt
eingestuft und wird somit Teil des Hauptprogramms der Kulturhauptstadt Europas Pilsen im Jahr
2015 sein. Ergänzend dazu werden Infotafeln, Flyer und Plakate erstellt und in der Region verteilt.
Tento projekt byl označen týmem zodpovědným za program jako mimořádný projekt hodný podpory a
bude součástí hlavního programu Evropského hlavního města kultury Plzně 2015. Doplněním budou
informační tabule, letáky a plakáty, které budou rozmístěny v regionu.
This project was classified as a particularly suited project and so it´s part of the main programm of the
European Capital of Culture Pilsen 2015. Along with it we make the regulars advertising efforts.

3.4. Spurensuche zur Ideenfindung | Hledání stop pro nalezení nápadů | Search for traces
and idea generation
Am ersten Abend bekommen alle Künstler eine kurze Einführung in die Thematik: die Bedeutung der
„Goldenen Straße“, welche Handelsgüter wurden transportiert, welchen Einfluss hatte sie auf Kunst
und Handwerk, welche geschichtliche Bedeutung hatte die Burg Dagestein...
Auch im Hinblick auf das Material bietet die Region vielfältige Anreize für Künstler, die in die Werke
einfließen sollen:
Stein Bruchschollenland mit Kalksteinbrüchen, Seugaster Sandstein
Metall/Erz - Ruhrgebiet des Mittelalters, Erzweg
Holz Waldgebiete, Sägewerke
Erde/Sand - Tonvorkommen, Ziegelei, Kaolinwerk Hirschau, Sandgruben
Wasser Vils-Vilseck, Vilswanderweg, Vilsecker Mulde, Weiheranlagen, Altmühlbach
Feuer/Licht - modern interpretiert: Solarenergie
Luft/Wind - Windräder, Luftmuseum Amberg
První večer budou všichni umělci krátce uvedeni do tematiky: význam „Zlaté cesty“, jaké obchodní
zboží se převáželo, jaký vliv mělo na umění a řemeslo, jaký historický význam měl hrad Dagestein…
Také se zřetelem na materiál nabízí kraj pro umělce rozmanité pobídky, které by měly díla ovlivnit:
kámen – Bruchschollenland s vápencovými lomy, seugastský pískovec
kov/ruda – Porúří středověku, Erzweg
dřevo – lesnaté oblasti, pily
zem/písek – hliniště, cihelny, kaolínka Hirschau, pískovna
voda – Vils-Vilseck, vilská turistická stezka, Vilsecká prohlubeň, rybníky, starý mlýnský potok
oheň/světlo – moderně interpretováno: solární energie
vítr – větrníky, muzeum vzduchu Amberg
In the first evening there is a introduction to the issues of the symposium: the importance of the
"Golden Road" - which commercial goods were transported, the influence on arts and crafts, the
historic impact of the castle....
With relation to the materials the area offers various appeals, which should slip in the artists works:

Metal/Iron - medieval Ruhr region, ironway
Wood - forests, sawmills
Earth/Sand - clay, brick factory,kaolin Hirschau,sand pits

3.5. Arbeitsplätze in der Burg | Pracoviště v prostorách hradu | Workstations in the castle
Jedem Künstler wird ein angemessener Arbeitsplatz zur Verfügung gestellt. In der Burganlage stehen
zwei Stadel und der Hof zur Verfügung. Für die Land-Art-Künstler sind zusätzliche Pavillons
vorgesehen.
Každému umělci bude poskytnuto přiměřené pracovní místo. V prostorách hradu jsou k dispozici dva
seníky a dvůr. Pro land-art umělce jsou plánovány dodatečné pavilóny.
Every artist will get an adequate workstation. In the castle are available two barns and a courtyard.
For the Land-Art-Artists also are slated pavilions.
3.6. Finissage und offizielle Erstbegehung der Kunstpfade | Finisáž a oficiální první
procházka po uměleckých stezkách | Closing event and official first ascent of the way along
the artists works
Im Rahmen entsprechender Feierlichkeiten werden die Kunstschaffenden vorgestellt. Anschließend
werden die Kunstpfade offiziell eröffnet und für die Erstbegehung freigegeben. Die Künstler haben die
Möglichkeit, sich zu ihren Werken zu äußern und Fragen von Besuchern zu beantworten.
V rámci patřičných oslav budou představeni umělci. Následně budou umělecké stezky oficiálně
otevřeny a uvolněny pro první procházku. Umělci mají možnost vyjádřit se ke svým dílům a odpovídat
na otázky návštěvníků.
In the context of ceremonies the artists are presented. Afterwards the interested public will visit the
artworks. The artists can find expressions.

4. Begleitprogramm für Gäste | Doprovodný program pro hosty | accompanying
program
4.1. Veranstaltungen | Akce | Events
Geplant ist ein ganzjähriges, abwechslungsreiches Rahmenprogramm mit Aktionstagen für alle
Generationen. Im ersten Halbjahr wird sozusagen zum Projekt hingeführt. Workshop und
Kunstpfaderöffnung bilden den Höhepunkt. Und im zweiten Halbjahr werden die Weichen für Projekte
in der Zukunft gestellt. „Der Weg wird zum Ziel“.
Plánován je celoroční rozmanitý program se speciálními dny, při kterých se budou konat akce pro
všechny generace. V prvním pololetí bude program takříkajíc nasměrován k projektu. Workshop a
zahájení uměleckých stezek tvoří vrchol. Ve druhém pololetí se rozhodne o dalším postupu projektu.
“Cesta se stanem cílem”.
Plánována jsou vystoupení hostů z jiných projektů, jako například pohádková pouť Olivera
Machandera, nebo „Strom přání jde na cesty“.
For all generations is planned a varied all-year-program with action days. In the first six months of the
year is lead in the project. Height of the season will be workshop and opening. The following months
set the course for events in future.
4.2. Führungen | Prohlídky | Tours
Mehrsprachige Führungen sind für folgende Bereiche vorgesehen: „Burg Dagestein“, „Erstes
Deutsches Türmermuseum“, Altstadt, entlang der Kunstpfade. Auch szenische Führungen und
Erlebnisführungen werden ausgearbeitet.
Alle wichtigen historischen Gebäude in Vilseck und in den umliegenden Gemeinden im AOVE-Gebiet
sind bereits seit 2007 mit einer Kurzbeschreibung in Deutsch, Englisch und Tschechisch
ausgeschildert. So können Besucher aus dem In- und Ausland problemlos auf eigene Faust die
kulturellen Sehenswürdigkeiten erkunden. In der Tourist-Info Vilseck liegt weiteres Prospektmaterial
in Deutsch und Englisch auf.
Pro následující oblasti jsou plánovány vícejazyčné prohlídky: „Hrad Dagestein“, První německé
„Türmermuseum“, Staré město, po umělecké stezce. Připraveny budou také scénické a zážitkové
prohlídky.
Všechny důležité historické budovy ve Vilseck a okolních obcích v oblasti AOVE jsou již od roku 2007
označeny informačními cedulemi s krátkým popisem v německém, anglickém a českém jazyce. Tak
mohou návštěvníci z tuzemska a ze zahraničí bez problémů prozkoumat kulturní památky na vlastní
pěst. V turistickém informačním středisku ve Vilseck jsou k dispozici další prospekty v německém a
anglickém jazyce.
Planned are multi-lingual tours for following sections: "Burg Dagestein", "Erstes Deutsches
Türmermuseum", historic town, along the artworks-way. Also a dramatic tour und adventure tours will
be prepared.
All the important buildings of Vilseck and the surrounding towns in the AOVE-district are already
equipped with a short description in German, English and Czech. So guests from home and abroad
can explore the sightseeings on their own. The tourist-info in Vilseck presents additional pamphlets in
German and English.
Projektziele | Cíle projektu | Aims of the project
Ein Nebeneffekt der historischen Handelsstraßen war der Einfluss von Reisenden auf Sitten,
Gebräuche, Kunst und Handwerk. Nur so wurde z.B. St. Nepomuk bei uns als Brückenheiliger
beliebt. Auch die kunstvollen Akanthusaltäre entlang der Goldenen Straße verdanken wir diesem
Umstand. Diesen Grundgedanken der Völkerverbindung durch alte Handelswege sollen sechs
internationale Künstler wieder ins Gedächtnis rufen. Unserer schnelllebigen Zeit zum Trotz soll an
diesem winzigen Teilstück historischer Wege ein lebendiger Treffpunkt entstehen, der auch Raum für
kreative Projekte in der Zukunft bieten kann.
Vedlejším efektem historických obchodních cest byl vliv cestujících na zvyky a obyčeje, umění a
řemeslo. Jen díky tomu byl u nás oblíbený např. Sv. Nepomuk jako „Světec mostů“. Také za
umělecké Akantové oltáře podél Zlaté cesty vděčíme těmto okolnostem. Tyto základní myšlenky
spojování národů starými obchodními cestami má 6 mezinárodních omělců opět vybavit v paměti.
Navzdory naší rychle se měnící době má na této nepatrné části historické cesty vzniknout živoucí
centrum, které nabídne v budoucnosti prostor pro kreativní projekty.
A side effect of the historic traderoutes was the influence of travellers on customs and traditions, arts
and crafts. Only thus Saint Nepomuk could get most popular as a Saint of bridges. This extends to

the artfully "Akanthus-altars" along the "Golden Road".
This basic idea of international understanding by trade routes six international artists should recall to
the mind. In defiance of fast pace we give birth to a dynamic hub at a little segment of these trade
routes, which can provide enough space for creative projects in future.

Die Lebensqualität von Bürgern und Gästen wird durch diese Maßnahme enorm gesteigert. Die
Kunstpfade sind jederzeit für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich und erlebbar. Vor der eindrucksvollen
Burgkulisse werden idyllische Ruheoasen am Wasser entstehen, Orte der Kraft und besondere
Kunstgenuss-Orte zum Entspannen.
Das Gesamtgelände ist groß genug, um Raum für künftige Projekte zu lassen, wie z.B.
Kunsterlebnisflächen für alle Generationen, Geophon, Sinnesgarten, Weidenkuppel...Langfristig
gesehen ist das Symposium somit erst der Anfang.
Kvalita života občanů a hostů díky tomuto opatření velmi stoupne. Umělecké stezky jsou pro
veřejnost neustále přístupné. Před působivou kulisou hradu vzniknou idylické oázy klidu u vody,
„místa působení sil“ a mimořádná místa pro relaxaci s uměleckým prožitkem. Celková oblast je
dostatečně velká, aby dala prostor budoucím projektům, jako např. plochy pro umělecké zážitky pro
všechny generace, geofon, zahrada smyslů, Weidenská kopule…Proto je sympózium z
dlouhodobého hlediska teprve začátek.
This activity will increase the citizens quality of life. The ways along the artworks anytime are open to
public viewing. In front of the magnificent backdrop of the "Burg Dagestein" will rise idyllic oasis of
calm along the river, elementariness places and special places for art appreciation.
The whole area is big enough for creating future projects, for example art-adventure-areas for all
generations, Geophon, sensory garden, a dome by willows...In the long run, the symposium will be
the first step.
