letošní rok bude rozhodně patřit mezi náročnější období, které Kongresové centrum
Praha (KCP) prožilo. V prvním pololetí se v našich prostorech konala jedna z nejvýznamnějších a zároveň nejdelších akcí - české předsednictví v Radě Evropské
unie. I přesto jsme však dokázali minimalizovat jeho dopad na naši další
činnost. Uskutečnila se u nás celá řada kongresů i konferencí. V tomto
roce otřásla celým světem také ekonomická krize a samozřejmě se
dotkla i Prahy a Kongresového centra. I přesto se nám však podařilo
hostit více než čtyřicet velkých mezinárodních kongresů, a dosáhnout tak dobrých hospodářských výsledků.
Blíží se také konec celoroční výstavy nekomerčních fotografií, jejímž
iniciátorům jsme poskytli zázemí a podpořili tak několik charitativních organizací a nadací. V současné době ovládají
KCP především kulturní akce, jejichž počet se neustále
zvyšuje. Po hudebních koncertech Diany Krall, sboru
Harlem Gospel Choir či vystoupení legendárních shaolinských mnichů nás ještě čekají
tanečníci z Bollywoodu, Electric Light
Orchestra nebo vánoční koncert Verdi
Gala, který bude sváteční tečkou za
rokem 2009.

Tanečníci z Bollywoodu roztančí KCP
Hudební, taneční a jiná kulturní vystoupení jsou již vedle kongresů a konferencí
nedílnou součástí nabídky Kongresového centra Praha (KCP). Střídají se zde nejenn

album. Atmosféru KCP poté zpestřilo vystoupení proslulého sboru Harlem Gospel
Choir a kanadské umělkyně Diany Krall, která je často označována jako „Sinatra
v sukních“, a jenž předvedla vrchol jazzového umění současné doby. Do metropole
také zavítali mniši z legendárního čínského kláštera Shaolin a uvedli své zcela nové
představení s názvem „Svatý Vrch“. Návštěvníci měli jedinečnou možnost zhlédnout ukázky bojových umění Kung Fu s cvičením Taichi v podání skupiny patnácti mnichů, a to od desetiletého žáka
po osmdesátiletého mistra. Již 8. prosince
se v KCP uskuteční další kulturní perla.

The Prague Congress Centre (PCC) is not only a venue hosting congresses
and conferences, but also a place for much music, dance and other cultural
performances. World renowned artists come to perform here, as do various
ethnic groups. After the performance of the legendary Shaolin monks, we
can look forward to the colourful world of Indian culture as presented by the
Bollywood dancers.

Charitativní výstava fotografií v KCP

aprobíhala a kterým charitativním organizaen

z iniciátorů projektu Daniel Adam.

„ Co bylo hlavním cílem výstavy?
Hlavním cílem projektu bylo seznámit širokouu
veřejnost se současnou tvorbou českých a sloven-ských fotografů. Jednalo se především o autory,
kteří dosud publikovali prostřednictvím různých
internetových portálů zabývajících se fotografií.
„ Jaké tematické soubory fotografií byly v KCP
k vidění a co návštěvníky ještě čeká?
Výstavu jsme rozdělili do šesti částí zaměřených
vždy na konkrétní téma. Jednotlivé expozice
představily kolekci dvaceti až pětadvaceti autorů.

Předmětem prvních dvou výstav byli lidé a portréty. Další soubor, pojmenovaný
Cesta na východ, obsahoval fotografie pořízené na cestách po východní Evropě
a Asii. Nechyběly ani akty nebo téma s názvem Žena. V současnosti mohou
návštěvníci vidět výběr fotografií ze všech koleknávštěvníc
cí výstavy, které jsou určeny pro
závěrečnou dražbu. Ta se uskuteční
v sobotu 12. prosince 2009.

Charity Photographic
Exhibition in PCC
In total, six themed exhibitions were hosted as part
of the 2009 Year of the Czech and Slovak NonCommercial Photography Project in the Prague
Congress Centre. Daniel Adam, one of the initiators
of the project, told us about the exhibition and about
the charitable organisations that were supported by
this event.
„ What was the main aim of the exhibition?
The main aim of the project was to present the work off
Czech and Slovak photographers to the wider public, inn
particular, the work of those who had so far presentedd
their work only through various internet portals focusedd
on photography.
„ Which themes have been covered and what can the

visitors still look forward to?
The exhibition was divided into six parts focusing on spepecific themes. Individual exhibitions presented the work of
twenty to twenty-five photographers. The first two exhihibitions covered the theme of people and portraits. Other

to the East’ presenting photographs taken on journeys
through

also photographs depicting ‘Women’, both clothed
and in the nude. Currently, the exhibition is showing

will take place on Saturday, 12th December 2009.

Plesová sezona je v Kongresovém centru Praha (KCP) v plném proudu a s ní také

Ball season in the Prague Congress Centre (PCC) is in full swing along with
dance courses for children, youth and adults. In recognition of the fact that
there was growing interest in the dance courses, the Hes Dance School created two new mirrored halls on the ground floor of the PCC and at the beginning of October this year, the Vyšehrad Dance Centre opened.

Parkování v KCP
KCP poskytuje svým návštěvníkům, delegátům, firmám i lidem z řad široké veřejnosti téměř tisíc parkovacích míst pro osobní vozy, autobusy a motorky. Parkoviště
jsou vybavena automatickým závorovým a kamerovým systémem. Řidičům jsou
k dispozici 24 hodin denně.
Parkovací místa v KCP se nacházejí v blízkosti metra Vyšehrad, přímo u pražské magistrály před Nuselským mostem a navazují na Jižní spojku a dálnici D1. Velké podzemní parkoviště pro osobní vozy je rozděleno do několika zón a lidé jej mohou využívat ke krátkodobému i dlouhodobému parkování. Zóna Sever je určena pro krátkodobé parkování
veřejnosti a návštěvníků kulturních i kongresových akcí.
Zóna Západ pak leží pod novou budovou Business Centra
Vyšehrad vedle hotelu Holiday Inn PCC. Zóna Jih má dvě
podlaží. Tuto část nabízí KCP k pronájmu i svým kongresovým delegátům. Vzhledem k velkému zájmu o parkovací
místa otevřelo KCP nyní další parkovací stání se stovkou
venkovních míst na jižní terase před svou hlavní budovou. Je
vhodné zejména pro krátkodobé stání, prvních 30 minut je
zdarma. KCP nezapomíná ani na motorkáře. V loňském roce
pro ně zprovoznilo dvacet uzamykatelných parkovacích boxů,
jež nepřetržitě hlídá ostraha a dispečink.

Společenský sál v KCP
The Prague Congress Centre (PCC) has nearly one thousand parking places
for cars, buses and motorbikes, which are available to visitors to the centre,
delegates, companies and the general public. The car parks are equipped
with an automatic gate system and are monitored by cameras. They are open
24 hours a day.
V minulém vydání jsme se vás ptali, který ze sálů Kongresového centra Praha
(KCP) je nejvariabilnější. Správná odpověď je Společenský sál.
Parking places in the PCC are located near the Vyšehrad underground station, right
by the dual carriageway near Nuselský Bridge with connections to Jižní spojka, the
bypass around Prague, and the D1 motorway. The large underground car park,
North Zone, is allocated for short term parking for the public and visitors to the
cultural and congress events. The West Zone is situated
cult
below the new Vyšehrad Business Centre next to the

the large interest in parking spaces, the PCC opened

last year, twenty lockable parking boxes were made

Společenský sál se rozkládá na třech podlažích a je po Kongresovém sále druhým
největším sálem KCP. Vzhledem k jeho obrovské flexibilitě jej lze použít k organizaci
kongresů, sympozií, plesů, banketů, rautů, výstav, koncertů, divadelních i filmových
představení a dalších společenských či sportovních akcí. Kromě základního divadelního uspořádání pro 1034 lidí, tedy 649 míst v přízemí a 386 sedadel na balkoně, může být kapacita
sálu využita v dalších variantách. V sále je možné
připravit také arénu s pódiem uprostřed, která je
ideální pro sportovní akce. Společenský sál je navíc vybavený nejmodernější konferenční a audiovizuální technikou s výsuvným pódiem s mnoha
možnostmi jeho úprav. Výhodou sálu jsou také
jeho parametry. Jedenáctimetrová hloubka jeviště
a až patnáctimetrová výška nad pódiem umožňuje například instalaci velkých divadelních kulis či
jiného vybavení.

The PCC Forum Hall
The last issue posed the question as to which of the PCC halls is the one that
offers the most possibilities of use. The correct answer is the Forum Hall.
The Forum Hall covers three floors and after the Congress Hall, this is the second largest of the PCC halls. Thanks to its great flexibility, it can be used for congresses, symposia, balls, banquets, exhibitions, concerts, theatrical and film performances and many other social and sporting events. The hall can be
arranged as a theatre offering 1,034 seats, 649 on the ground floor
and 386 balcony seats, but the capacity of the hall lends itself to
many other uses. It is possible to arrange a stage in the middle of the
hall and to host a sporting event. The Forum Hall is also equipped
with state-of-the-art conference and audiovisual technology with
an extending stage, which can be arranged in many ways. The parameters of the hall work to its advantage as the eleven-metre deep
stage and the fifteen-metre high ceiling above the stage allow the
installation of large theatre props and other equipment.

A Czech Christmas would be unthinkable without a tree and a carved wooden
manger. Praguers and visitors to the capital city can visit the unique collection
of various wooden Christmas crèches and Nativity scenes during their Christmas walks through Prague. The exhibition takes place in the underground
