Welcome to a new season at Giro—
We’ve continued to push snow helmets
into exciting new realms, and our goggle
line features more team-driven styles and
functional innovations than ever before.
In performance eyewear, we’re dropping
two new goggles, including a fresh kids
model, the Rev, and a style-packed,
team-driven goggle, the Blok, with insane
peripheral vision.
We are introducing a progressive new
helmet, the Combyn, which is the first of
a whole new category of helmets: Soft Shell.
Soft Shell construction gives you more
comfort, flexibility, and durability than ever
before. Also new this season is the Edit
helmet—very simply the lightest fullfeatured helmet we’ve ever made, with a
stealthy integrated GoPro® mount to boot.
Last but not least, there’s an all-new
polarized lens option featuring Optics by
Carl Zeiss Vision. Could you ask for a
more versatile lens? We think not.

INTRODUCING
The Combyn
recipe for durability
The flagship of our innovative Soft Shell category, the Combyn
delivers an exciting new helmet option for progressive riders.
Inspired by park and pipe riding where repeated impacts are the
inevitable price of progression, we combined a patent-pending,
impact-absorbing liner crafted from Vinyl Nitrile foam with a
proprietary, flexible outer shell. The result? An ultra-comfortable,
flexible fit, unmatched durability, and both high- and low-energy
impact absorption across a wide range of temperatures.

CONSTRUCTION
The Combyn’s sleek, low-profile design locks up seamlessly
with goggles, while eight top vents and four at the brow allow
excess heat to escape for clear, fog-free vision. Removable ear
pads and a stealth comfort fit allow you to wear goggles over or
under the helmet.

Soft Shell Construction
A NEW CHOICE IN HELMETS
From park laps to skintracks, urban rails to backcountry stashes,
riding styles and performance needs vary radically … So why are
most helmets made the same way?
This season, Giro gives you a new option that redefines the way
helmets are made: Soft Shell construction. Complementing our
light weight In-Mold helmets and value-conscious Hard Shells,
the new Giro Soft Shell construction creates a revolutionary new
category with a comfortable, flexible fit and unmatched durability.
Built to meet the globally recognized CE EN1077 standard, our
Soft Shell helmets are also designed to better manage low-energy,
day-to-day impacts. This is thanks to a patent-pending, impact-
absorbing liner made with Vinyl Nitrile (VN) and our uniquely
flexible proprietary outer-shell material. Employing two distinct
types of VN foam in the liner, the helmet is able to manage both
high- and low-energy impacts across a wide range of temperatures—delivering extraordinary comfort and durability that
stands up to the punishment of progressive riding styles. Giro is
developing this new category to provide riders more choices in
helmets that best meet their needs and preferences.

Graphic Series
As native Santa Cruz brands, Giro and Santa Cruz Skateboards are both inspired by the environment
and people of the hometown we share. We’re friends, we’re neighbors, and it only makes sense that we
continue our collaboration into 2014. For the Retro Check design, we dug deep into Santa Cruz Skateboards graphics history and came up with a timeless execution that pays homage to the early 80s-era
of skateboarding. The Yeti Screaming Hand is a classic spin on the iconic Screaming Hand, arguably
the most memorable graphics in skateboard history. Santa Cruz Skateboards collaborative graphics are
available on our Station goggle, Battle helmet, and our kids’ Grade goggle.

HANNAH STOUFFER
Hannah Stouffer
Graphic Series
San Francisco based illustrator Hannah Stouffer has teamed up with
Giro this season, adorning the Onset and Amulet goggles and the Surface-S
and Sheer helmets with her signiature style of intricate, ethereal graphics,
and nature inspired watercolors. Hannah’s upbringing in the Colorado
Rockies heavily influenced her work. As daughter to famed wildlife documentarian Marty Stouffer, her work is inspired by our natural environment.
Her process evolves organically, creating much of her work traditionally by
hand, a form of production very similar to Giro’s.

Team Issued
Developed last season exclusively for our team riders, the Color Block
and Static graphics were met with such a compelling response that we
decided to include them in our regular 2014 collection in an assortment
of colors. Keep your eyes peeled for them on Giro riders like Seth Huot,

Triple Face Foam is a three part system that gives you a plush contact layer
against your face, a super soft middle layer that allows maximum contour,
and a durable back layer that adheres to the goggle frame.
SUPER FIT ENGINEERING
Super Fit™ Engineering is the foundation of our product design process. Every
new Giro product is designed with reference to our database of anatomic
measurements and rider input. We then test the design repeatedly in the lab
and in the hands of riders so we can gather feedback and make refinements to
create a final product that fits and performs at the highest level.
INJECTION MOLDED CYLINDRICAL
Injection molding a cylindrical lens helps refine optics and minimize distortion that

IN FORM FIT SYSTEM
The In Form™ system makes it easy to dial in a custom fit in seconds - even with gloves
on. An ergo-friendly dial at the base of the helmet provides up to 6cm of adjustment and
enhanced stability while the vertical tuning feature accommodates different goggles and
head shapes for a custom fit, free of gaper gap.
AUTO LOC 2 FIT SYSTEM
Auto Loc™ 2 is a simple, durable self-adjusting fit system designed to take the hassle out
of fitting and wearing a helmet. By combining a supple elastic fit band at the back of the
helmet with fixed-position straps, it automatically adjusts to cradle your head once you
set the system to one of the three different circumference settings. A new vertical tuning
feature helps dial in your fit and goggle set up.
FIT KIT
Our Fit Kit™ pad system allows you to adjust the fit of your helmet in just a few seconds,
without any tools. Simply choose the best combination of fit pads from the assortment supplied with the helmet, and swap them out to optimize comfort and stability. It’s fast, easy

THERMOSTAT CONTROL
Thermostat™ ventilation control allows you to custom tune airflow instantly with a
simple, low profile control button on the outside of the helmet. No other system is faster

STACK VENT
Our Stack Vent™ was developed based on research showing the majority of the warm air
that can cause fogging exhausts from the center top vent of the goggle. Aligning the Stack
Vent in the helmet with the center vent of your goggles helps to keep them clear and fog free
while maintaining total helmet and goggle integration.
INTAKE PORT VENTILATION
Two vents at the brow of the helmet direct airflow to massive channels cut into the interior
of the helmet foam. These channels then link to vents in the top and rear of the helmet.
The result is the best ventilation system ever designed for a snow helmet.
WEATHERSTRIP VENT SHIELD
Weatherstrip Vent Shields work to seal off vents in extremely cold conditions. A Velcro tab
secures the shield when not in use to allow proper ventilation. Simply open the Velcro tab to
unroll the shield over its corresponding vent.
SUPER FIT ENGINEERING
Super Fit™ Engineering is the foundation of our product design process. Every new Giro product
is designed with reference to our database of anatomic measurements and rider input. We then
test the design repeatedly in the lab and in the hands of riders so we can gather feedback and
make refinements to create a final product that fits and performs at the highest level.
INTERIOR SUBLINER
The interior subliner allows you to customize your pads or pull them out completely for
the ultimate in rider tuned fit. A soft Velcro free fabric is laminated to the EPS foam on the
inside of the helmet to make the fit more comfortable if you want to remove the padding to
accommodate a beanie or goggle strap.
X-STATIC
X-static® is a fiber made with a layer of pure silver, which is permanently bonded to the
surface of a textile fiber. It is an antimicrobial fiber that is 100% natural that helps to
