Vyjádření CRUADALACH k festivalu Northern Lights 2011
Jak možná víte, tento pátek, tedy dne 24. 6., se v rakouském
Reichenthalu odehraje festival metalových kapel známý jako
Northern Lights 2011. Festival má mnohaletou tradici a je
to každoroční vyhlášený a vyhledávaný svátek fanoušků
metalu. Jako Cruadalach jsme nadšeně přislíbili účast na této
události s chutí užít si mírumilovnou a příjemnou akci
v krásném prostředí Grassmühle po boku výtečných kapel.
Bohužel ne všichni jsou touto hudební akcí nadšeni a některé
politické síly spolu s jistými médii a pochybnými
aktivistickými skupinami touží po tom, aby byla tato akce
dnes, 20 let po pádu totalitních režimů ve střední Evropě,
ZAKÁZÁNA s odkazem na pochybné politické smýšlení pár
jedinců z několika desítek až stovek vystupujících
hudebníků. Jen několik týdnů před samotnou akcí spustily
ony subjekty kampaň poškozující pověst festivalu
a ohrožující samotné jeho konání, a to přesto, že kompletní
soupiska kapel je známa již od února tohoto roku, přičemž se nedá předpokládat, že by tento
fakt samozvaným pořádkovým jednotkám unikl.
Tím tyto skupiny uvrhly pořadatele pod neúnosný mediální i politický nátlak, aniž by k tomu
měly legitimní, natož legální důvody. Vyšetřování ze strany úřadů a policie totiž neprokázala
onu v médiích propíranou závadnost ani jediné z hrstky kapel, na něž bylo ukázáno, a přesto
se dvě tyto kapely s ohledem na nátlak vyvíjený na pořadatele rozhodly neúčinkovat ve jménu
záchrany festivalu. Bez jakéhokoli respektu vůči extremistickým ideologiím a bahnu
rasové nesnášenlivosti se ptáme -- je rakouská demokracie skutečně tak slabá, že se bojí
několika metalových kapel? Má mít pár nesnášenlivých a nenávistných jedinců sílu
zničit kulturní událost na základě cejchování vystupujících umělců? Cruadalach je
mírumilovná, svobodomyslná kapela a rozhodně nesouhlasíme s jakýmikoli projevy rasové či
jiné nesnášenlivosti, která podle nás do lidské společnosti jednoduše nepatří. Stejně tak se
nám ovšem hnusí jedinci, co sbírají politické body na přesvědčování jiných o své
neomylnosti, s jakou dokážou vidět ostatním lidem do hlav. Ukažte nám, jakým způsobem
ohrožuje Northern Lights 2011 rakouskou demokracii, a budeme první, kdo účast zruší. Do
té doby stojíme za touto kulturní událostí a vy, samozvaní sociální inženýři, se svou nenávistí
třeba udavte.

Statement of CRUADALACH to Northern Lights 2011
As you may know, this Friday (on 24th of June) the metal
festival Northern Lights 2011 takes place in Reichenthal,
Austria. Festival has got a multiyear tradition and it is farfamed celebration sought-after by many metal fans. We,
Cruadalach, had enthusiastically promised our attendance at
this event with intention to enjoy this peaceful and friendly
festival in beautiful surroundings of Grassmühle, side by side
with great bands. Unluckily, not everyone welcomes this
musical event. Some political forces along with some media
as well as questionable activist groups long to ban this
festival with reference to doubtful political views of some
individuals among the hundreds of performers. As it seems,
mentality of totalitarian ideologies is actual over the
last 20 years after its fall in middle Europe. These political
forces started to run the campaign just few weeks before
event itself. By this they endangered the reputation of festival
requiring its ban despite of the fact that line-up of bands is known and public from February
of 2011. It is very likely that these political forces and activist groups are very well aware of
this fact. In the end, they want nothing less than to hurt organizers as much as possible.
These groups exposed organizers of the festival to unbearable medial and political pressure
without any legitimate, the less legal reason. Investigations of state bodies and police didn’t
prove any of accusations concerning "unhealthy ideologies" of "marked" bands to be true.
Regardless two of these marked bands quited their attendance to festival regarding to medial
pressure on organizers. With no respect to extreme ideologies or racial hate we ask -- is it
Austrian democracy that weak that it is scared of bunch of metal bands? Is it right when
few hateful individuals and activists have might to ruin a cultural event due to a reason
based on their accusations towards some performers? Cruadalach is a peaceful, openminded and liberal band and we surely don’t agree with any expression of racial or other hate,
which in our opinion simply shouldn’t be part of modern society. As well, we have no
respect for individuals collecting political points on their conviction to be guardians of public
order. If you think you are voice of the law and freedom, show us in which way Northern
Lights 2011 endangers Austrian democracy or public order and we will be the first
who will quit our participation. Until then, we support this musical event and you selfassigned social engineers just go fuck yourselves.
