Course objectives:
After the course, the student will be acquainted with the main topics and themes of the biblical studies and will be ready for
subsequent study of the Bible.
Requirements on student
1) During the course, student will write two short papers:
a) a non-biblical source for the hisotory of Ancient Israel (7%)
b) a textual witness for the text of either the Old, or the New Testament (7%).
2) At the end of the course, the student will show, in a written test, his acquaintance with the history of Ancient Israel. This test is
obligatory and it represents 36% of the final evaluation.
3) Then (s)he will face an oral exam, where (s)he will prove his acquaintance with other topics and themes discussed in the
lectures (50% of the final evaluation).
Evaluation scale: 100-95 (A); 94-88 (B); 87-80 (C); 79-72 (D); 71-65 (E).
