Atlas Copco double drum roller More power, smarter engineering 2 Selection guide Expect more Get the job done faster ... Lowest cost of ownership The Atlas Copco range of compaction equipment will take your productivity to a whole new level. Outstanding compaction efficiency – thanks to superior forces and the high speed of our rollers – enables you to get the job done faster and squeeze more into your daily schedule. handling and a clean design with no protruding parts. The user-friendly handle design with reduced hand/arm vibration makes work easier and increases efficiency further. And more cost effectively Easier ... Making your workday easier and more productive is our highest priority. Starting, maneuvering and transportation is made easy with smart engineering solutions such as the fully hydraulic systems on the LP6500 and LP8504 (both steering and transmission) that allow effortless You need equipment built to last – machines with long service intervals and low life cycle costs. Our innovative designs stem from long experience in the industry, and from keeping close ties with customers like you in order to match your needs and increase productivity. Total cost of ownership is all costs generated by a piece of equipment throughout its lifetime. We always strive to keep the total cost of ownership as low as possible by providing highly productive equipment. The graph is showing an average over 1000 hours. This varies depending on local conditions. Operator 82% investment 11% Spares 3% Energy 4% Equipment for sand and gravel Equipment for silt Equipment for clay Equipment for asphalt The level of compaction depends on grading. Too much compaction can crush the material. Our double drum rollers provide high compaction efficiency on thin granular soil layers and are well suited for smaller jobs such as pavement construction or repair, playgrounds, parking lots or trenches. The compaction effect on silt depends largely on water content. In pure silt or where the silt is primarily mixed with other coarsegrained fractions, there is little cohesion. Use Atlas Copco double drum rollers for optimum results on thin layers. Clay needs high compaction energy, something that our trench compactor provides. With its excellent traction and powerful engine the trench compactor makes work on cohesive and granular soils easy. Both the LP6500 and LP750 provide excellent end results on asphalt. They are well suited for smaller jobs in confined areas such as pavement construction or repair, narrow roads, playgrounds or parking lots. They are well suited for smaller jobs in confined areas such as pavement construction or repair, narrow roads, playgrounds or parking lots. High productivity, good maneuverability Powerful performance Operator friendly Simple handling is essential for compaction equipment in this weight class. The upright handle reduces vibration and has a throttle lever that allows stepless speed control for good maneuverability. The use of a hydraulic transmission that eliminates the need for chains or gears enables a compact design with smooth sides, high curb clearance and no overhang. This makes handling close to obstacles or edges easy. The LP6500 is equipped with one of the most powerful engines in this segment. The power output is 6.8 kW and the centrifugal force as high as 21 kN. Hour meter and oil alert are standard for easy maintenance. A rigid protection frame – with a single lifting point for easy transportation – reduces the risk of impact damage. The protective side plates feature tie down points for easier transportation. The large corrosion-free removable water tank reduces the number of refill stops and serves as protection for the cooling fan. Once removed it provides easy access to components. Up time is everything Our fully hydraulic rollers are equipped with a controlled cooling fan to help reduce the risk of excessive oil temperature and the inconvenience of unplanned stops. This can be especially advantageous in warmer climates but regardless of the environment it can contribute to longer operation times, longer service intervals and longer unit lifetimes – great for productivity. The same cooling fan also helps keep battery temperature down, which is good for the battery. 4 Depending on the application, vibration can be switched on or off to increase versatility. user-friendly Vibration-reducing handle. Easy handling. Push stop is standard. High efficiency Large water tank for fewer refills and more up-time. robust Heavy duty protection frame with single lifting point for easy transportation. reliable operation Powerful engine for reliable operation. Higher force The compaction force of the LP6500 is increased by 10 percent compared to the previous model (LP650). Long life Built-in hydraulic oil cooler extends component lifetime and increases reliability in tough, hot conditions. Easy handling Minimum overhang, high curb clearance and smooth sides mean easy handling in confined areas. Reliable design Fully hydraulic design for reliable operation and less maintenance (no V-belt). 5 double drum rollers Easy going on tough soils As the name implies the LP8504 Trench Compactor is an excellent companion in trenches and pipelines but it is also great in connection with backfills on foundations, parking lots and similar projects. Lots of power and traction When the going gets tough the LP8504 gets going. Its powerful engine, compact body and drum pad design makes work on cohesive and granular soils easy, even if the worksite is confined or filled with obstacles. Durable Fan reduces the risk of overheated hydraulic oil and contributes to long service intervals. Reliability – bluetooth Individually paired remote control units minimize the risk of crossover commands on the work site. Easy maintenance Service points easily accessible under top cover. Radio action Radio remote control gives reliable handling and helps keep the operator away from noise, fumes and landslips. Bluetooth radio communication allows individually paired transmitter/receivers and reduces the risk of cross-over control when several units are working at the same site. The LP8504 can also be fitted with cable control. A one-meter cable is standard; four meters available as an option. Additional safety features include the automatic push stop in the front which stops the machine if it runs into something, and the top-mounted flashing beacon. Real power Heavy-duty engine for reliable operation. Great traction The LP8504 can go up and down 35-degree slopes. Reliability – two batteries Comes with two cadmium-free batteries as standard. Better for the environment. 6 Easy to maneuver Turns tight corners thanks to counter rotating drums which permit rotation around its own axis.
