na pohled trochu fádní. Neodmyslitelně k ní patří v samém jejím srdci ioblast od rOKu 1955úredně geograficky pojmenovaná
Hornosázavskou
Českomoravská vrcliovina. Popsaná je horopisně na Křemešnickou vrchovinu,
pahorkatinu,
Železné hory, Hornosvrateckou
vrchovinu,
Křižanovskou
vrchovinu,
Javořickou vrchovinu aJevišovickou pahorkatinu i na mnoho dalších podcelků a místních území. Zmapovaná křížem krážem geologicky, zeměpisně, přírodopisně
a vůbec jinak vědecky. Nikdo z místních,
ba ani cizinců jí však neřekne jinak než krátce a prostě - Vysočina.
Autor zmíněného výroku měl svým způsobem pravdu. Na cizince tu nečeká žádná záhadná divočina,
za rohem nevystrkuje drápy grizzly ani jiná ještě neobjevená potvora, natož aby na něho na mezinárodním letišti v Havlíčkově Brodě čekal polooděný místní soubor písní a tanců a jako sirény ho vábil

pravdu poloviční. Již v tom důvěrném pojmenování Vysočina je skryto mateřské bezpečí domova, jeho
pohoda, stabilita, souznění lidí s přírodou. To snad není málo.
Nic tu nevíří, nebouří, nesoptí, netryská do nebetyčných výšin ani se neztrácí v propastných
hlubi-
nách. Tím vším si zdejší krajina prošla v dávné geologické minulosti, před sta milióny let, v době tzv.
hercynského vrásnění, když ještě byla temperamentní
mladicí a ostré hřbety hor poskakovaly v prahor-
ním tanci. Kopce a údolí se věky zaoblily, zůstaly již do sebe zaklesnuty v dávném rytmu na základech
nadmíru pevných. Nepohnulo
s nimi ani alpínské vrásnění. Pouze pár štulců si tu a tam odnesly a řeky
Jihlava, Oslava a Doubrava hlubokým tónem otevřely svá malebná údolí. Tektonické změny nerozbořily ani němou hradbu Železných hor, ten dokonalý rám krajiny. Přidaly jenom něco vrásek a pro

Potom jenom čas a vítr, voda, slunce a mráz krajinu modelovaly, chvíli
odstoupily, něco přikryly, jiné decentně odhalily, prosvětlily. Zvláště na Žďársku
si daly záležet, tu
a tam na vrchy posadily surrealistické kamenné koruny, palice, kazatelny, perničky, ba i zkamenělý

či vysočinském moři velkého Dářka. Vedle nich jezírka na Ransku samotářsky vzpomínají na zašlou
horní slávu a ze zimního zamyšlení je nevyruší ani rozkvetlé koberce bledulí. Vody bylo na "střeše
Evropy" vždy dost. Časem se ale voda stala vzácným zbožím. Aby zbytečně neodtékala
žíznivá města za obzorem, rozlily se v údolích Želivky, Svratky, Oslavy a Chrudimky
a napojila
vodní nádrže.
Přehradní jezero v Dalešicích slouží silám dříve netušeným. Ale řeky si šumí dál, vzpomínají, co odkud
odnést a kam přinést, starodávnou melodií na Doubravě a Stvořidlech posílají vzkaz od pramenů. Jsou
životadárnými cévami krajiny a zároveň branami, kudy do ní vstoupit, ale vstoupit s pokorou, jako se

Dnes každého návštěvníka Vysočiny dovedou k jejím přírodním

jí přírodní památky a národní přírodní památky a někde zase nevtíravou harmonií zaujmou přírodní
parky. Je ale bezpočtu dalších bran i vrátek, kudy se možno dostat zapomenutými
alejemi k podstatě
a duši krajiny. Vysočina nikde nekončí ani nezačíná. Je mnoho způsobů, jak objevit stále fascinující kouzlo všedního i svátečního dne přírody. Takřka za každým kopcem čeká nějaké překvapení, budiž proto
