Russia, Italy, Romania, Moldova, Serbia,
Switzerland, San Marino and Monaco.
The meeting was chaired by the Russian
section, and led by the president of IPA
Cyprus, Michael Odysseus.
The discussions dealt with major issues for
IPA internationally, such as recruiting
young police officers, International social
activities, exchanges for delegations and
individuals between sections, as well as
youth exchanges.
The delegates discussed the infrastructure
of the Mediterranean Sections’ meetings,
and it was decided to elect Michael
Odysseus as the chairperson for the next
year and Dr. Eran Israel as the secretary
general. A further representative will come
from the hosting section. The next meeting
will be held in Moldova, followed by Cyprus
the year after.
The idea is to create an infrastructure for
professional discussions, the exchange of
ideas, the creation of international
cooperation between sections that are
close to IPA. Each other as well as
professional discussions about the motions
that will be presented in the upcoming
World congress. The delegates suggested
that the discussions would concentrate on
Professional issues, rather than on
formalities and procedures. It was agreed
that main issues, such as recruiting young
police officers, will be the major goal of the
meetings To this end, the delegates
exchanged ideas such as new websites
that will appeal to young policemen by
adapting them to smartphones, a new IPA
app, visibility in all units through posters,
advertisements, accessing recruitment
offices, police academies and choosing
young IPA members to assist in recruiting.
In addition, sports activities in police units,
social activities for young police officers
and much more were discussed.
The minutes, ideas and suggestions of the
meeting will be transferred to the IEB for
their further use.

in Moscow
The Mediterranean Sections’ Meeting
held in June in Moscow was attended by
delegates from Cyprus, Slovenia, Israel,
France, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Portugal,
Eran Israel, Secretary General IPA Israel
