PhDr. Jakub Končelík, Ph.D.
PhDr. Jakub Končelík, PhD. focuses on the role of the media in totalitarian societies. He specializes in the history of the
Czech press in the second half of the 20th century, particularly the issue of its management and control in the Protectorate
of Bohemia and Moravia (1939 – 1945) and during the Czechoslovak crisis in the 60s and 70s (1966 – 1971).
He teaches courses on the modern history of the Czech media and so far has supervised over 50 graduate and
undergraduate students. He is a co-author of four books and he has also published numerous studies. As a Dean, he
is constantly seeking to modernize the Faculty of Social Sciences.
