Koněpruské caves
Koněpruské caves lay in reserved area Český
kras, close to Koněprusy village by Beroun
city. The caves were discovered in 1950
during mining of limestone. An extensive research started afterwards and further subterranean spaces have been discovered including bones of primaeval animals and archeological findings. Caves were open to the public
in 1959 and they represent the longest cave
system in Bohemia. Caves were created by Opening time: daily 8am- 4pm
water, that drained through the limestone Entrance fee: 80 CZK, pensioners 60 CZK, children 40 CZK

Lenght of the route: 590 m, time of the tour: 60 minutes

October 13, 1941 died Czech statuary and
graphic František Bílek. He joined movement of Catholic modern style in 1897. His
friends, poets J. Zeyer and O. Březina helped
to the fact, that his work became more
expressive. He entered the secession style
with his statue, which was called Ukřižovaný (Crucified). Among his big projects belong statues Cesta (Way), Slepci (Blind people) and Modlitba nad hroby (Prayer over
graves).
