SISTER CITY AGREEMENT

QTY OF PILSEN, CZECH REPUBLIC
AND
aXY OF BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA,
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
The Municipalities of Birmingham, Alabama and Pilsen, Czech RepubKc have decided to
establish a Sister city relationship between them and to develop their relations of co-operation.
ARTICLE I
The two cities have manifested the desire to enter into cultural and artistic exchanges and to
develop economic opportunities between the business commumties of both cities.
ARTICLE II
Pursuant to this relationship, both parties mutually intend to provide their direct or indirect
assistance to each other with the aim in mind of improving the standard of living of each
community.
ARTICLE III
Priority in this endeavor stated in Article II will be accorded to the sectors of environment,
education, business development and health, as well as to artistic and cultural activities.
ARTICLE IV
It is hoped that in the future this relationship will strengthen, fostering mutual respect and
friendship, and that this will opennew avenues of co-operation beneficial to bothparties.
Completed in Pilsen on May 6, 2005 in four counterparts, two in the C^ch language and two
in the English language, each of which shall be deemed to be an original having identical legal
effect.
