Děkujeme všem, kteří s otevřeným srdcem podpořili ty, jimž diagnóza roztroušené sklerózy zasáhla do života svou nevypočitatelností, záludností, změnila přímočaré plány a neúprosně mění cestu života. Byl jsem překvapen, že pojednou chápu to tajemné záření písku. Když jsem byl malým chlapcem, bydlil jsem ve starobylém domě a pověst vyprávěla, že je tam zakopán poklad. Nikdy jej ovšem nikdo nedovedl objevit a snad jej ani nehledal. Ale dodával kouzlo celému tomu domu. Můj dům skrýval ve svých hlubinách tajemství… Antoine De Saint-Exupéry Pár slov úvodem Výroční zprávou Nadačního fondu IMPULS, kterou nyní držíte ve svých rukou, vám předkládáme uplynulý rok. Není podstatné, zda musíme, podstatné je, že chceme. Je-li člověku diagnostikována nemoc, která ho bude provázet celým životem a s nepředvídatelným průběhem, jeho pohled na svět kolem sebe se změní. A je to právě pohled očima těch, jejichž souputníkem je roztroušená skleróza, který chceme přiblížit všem, ať se s naší neziskovou organizací setkávají poprvé, či s námi na této cestě jdou roky. Přijměte laskavě tuto výroční zprávu jako souhrn dosaženého, jako rekapitulaci uplynulého roku, jako výčet všeho, co se nám společně podařilo. Protože sami bez pomoci, bez pomoci každého z vás, bychom nedokázali vůbec nic. Neočekávejte pouze účetní tabulky. Vnímejte celou výroční zprávu jako hudební myšlenku. Jako setkání s těmi, kteří břemeno své nemoci nesou statečně a s odhodláním. Prolíná se tak s těmi, kterým není lhostejný jejich život. Lidmi, kteří chtějí vnímat a pomoci. „Držet vždy při sobě, pomáhat si, cvičit poctivě a pilně … a bez pýchy dobýt celý svět.“ Poctivost a důvtip, to je v kostce charakteristika hochů z Klapzubovy jedenáctky. Je to také motto příběhu, jenž byl inspirací pro kalendář Nadačního fondu IMPULS 2014 a zároveň oním leitmotivem celého předešlého roku. Důraz na rehabilitaci a cvičení, velký ohlas 24hodinového maratonu MaRS, účast na fotbalovém turnaji ve Staších či cyklistický výstup na Mont Ventoux je jen zlomek naší práce v tomto duchu. Váš Nadační fond IMPULS Tato výroční zpráva byla schválena správní radou Nadačního fondu IMPULS ke dni 15. 7. 2015. 5 Posláním Nadačního fondu IMPULS je … ulehčit přítomnost pacientům s roztroušenou sklerózou formou podpory komplexní a kvalitní rehabilitační péče ve specializovaných centrech, … dát jim šanci na lepší budoucnost podporou vědy a výzkumu nejen v podobě registru ReMuS, který se uplatní jak při výzkumu onemocnění, tak při vývoji nových léků, … zlepšit minulost, to je osvětová činnost. „Minulost se mění podle přítomnosti. Změní-li se přítomnost, změní se i náš pohled na minulost.“ Bohuslav Martinů 6 Statut a cíle Nadačního fondu IMPULS IMPULS, nadační fond, byl založen dne 6. 4. 2000 jako první nezávislý neziskový subjekt zaměřený výhradně na problematiku roztroušené sklerózy mozkomíšní (sclerosis multiplex). Jedná se o jednu z nemocí, která se týká hlavně mladých lidí ve věku 20 až 40 let a v současné době je nejčastějším onemocněním nervového systému u dospívajících. Účel nadačního fondu je dán zakládací listinou a statutem. Podpora výzkumu roztroušené sklerózy, osvěta, terapie a rehabilitace. Práce nadačního fondu spočívá ve shromažďování a transparentním rozdělování finančních prostředků. V případě Nadačního fondu IMPULS jsou tyto prostředky vynakládány s jediným cílem – pomoci co největšímu počtu lidí nemocných roztroušenou sklerózou. Jednotlivci finanční pomoc využívají prostřednictvím pracovišť, která se zabývají diagnostikou a léčbou tohoto onemocnění. Jsou to tzv. RS centra, specializovaná neurologická pracoviště, kam se léčba lidí s roztroušenou sklerózou u nás soustřeďuje. Tato centra pacientům poskytují profesionální zdravotní péči, avšak chybí zde finance na další služby, na kterých mnohdy závisí, jak kvalitní a plnohodnotný bude jejich život. Máme na mysli zejména fyzioterapii, péči neuropsychologa, sociální poradenství a další profese, které jsou ve vyspělých zemích běžnou součástí takových center. Nadační fond IMPULS si vzal za své pomoci právě v této oblasti, zajistit pacientům kvalitní rehabilitační služby se zaměřením na fyzioterapii a psychoterapii. Není však v silách jednoho nadačního fondu pokrýt všechny systémové nedostatky. Důležitá je i součinnost s pacientskými organizacemi a motivace samotných pacientů. Nadační fond proto podporuje projekty, které pacienty vedou k jejich aktivnímu přístupu k nemoci, k sobě samému i ke svému okolí, ale také zodpovědnosti k problematice roztroušené sklerózy jako takové. Nevyléčitelnou roztroušenou sklerózou v České republice trpí odhadem 17 tisíc lidí, každým rokem jsou diagnostikováni noví, převážně mladí lidé. Jsou to lidé, kteří musí jít životem bok po boku s nemocí, o které nikdy dopředu neví, kdy a jak udeří. Na kterou stále není lék a jejichž jedinou nadějí je věda a výzkum. I sem věnuje nadační fond nemalé množství úsilí a prostředků. Celostátní registr pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou ReMuS, jenž shromažďuje data právě pro výzkumné účely, je toho důkazem. Nadační fond IMPULS jej provozuje a kompletně financuje jako jediná nezisková organizace v Evropské unii kompletně z vlastních zdrojů. 7 Pokroky ve vývoji nových léků postupují rychlým tempem. Vize, že se roztroušená skleróza stane pouhým příběhem z čítanky, je nadohled. Jeho napsání však bude stát ještě mnoho práce, úsilí i financí. Formy a typy darů Finanční pomoc Dárcovská SMS roční Nadační fond IMPULS vytvořil celostátní transparentní systém financování projektů, které jsou realizovány jinými subjekty – zdravotnickými zařízeními, vědeckými pracovišti. Tento systém poskytuje každému, jehož projekt souvisí s problematikou roztroušené sklerózy, možnost získat nejenom financování, ale i jistotu, že s každou takovou žádostí bude nakládáno řádně. DMSmezeraROKmezeraIMPULS na číslo 87777 Roční podpora je 12 x 30 Kč. NF IMPULS obdrží 28,50 Kč z každé DMS. Těm, kdo věnují své příspěvky na konkrétní projekt, nadační fond garantuje, že na tento projekt budou beze zbytku použity. Příspěvky bez takového určení budou užity na projekty, které budou transparentním způsobem posouzeny (s ohledem na cíle fondu a výši příspěvku) jako nejvhodnější. Online pomocí PaySec nebo platební karty Hmotná a dobrovolnická podpora Po domluvě přijímá Nadační fond IMPULS také dary hmotné povahy. Může se jednat o rehabilitační pomůcky, sportovní vybavení, náčiní pro fyzioterapii či kancelářské předměty. Nadační fond je poskytuje účelově konkrétním příjemcům či projektům. Velmi cennou podporou je práce dobrovolníků. Probíhá nejčastěji v rámci přípravy nejrůznějších akcí, které nadační fond pořádá v průběhu celého roku. Bez pomoci dobrovolníků z řad studentů, pacientů a příznivců si nelze představit většinu benefičních akcí a sbírek, za což jim patří velký dík. 11 Shrnutí činnosti v roce 2014 Čtrnáct let se Nadační fond IMPULS věnuje práci v oblasti roztroušené sklerózy. Čtrnáct let máme radost z každého projektu, který se podaří uvést do života a který pomůže tam, kde je nedostatek veřejných financí patrný nejvíce – v ambulancích a léčebných zařízeních. Podpora péče o pacienty ve specializovaných RS centrech V tomto ohledu máme na mysli zejména síť odborných neurologických pracovišť, kde se léčí většina pacientů. Když u nás tato tzv. RS centra vznikala, předpokládalo se, že budou poskytovat léčbu komplexní. Komplexní ve smyslu kombinace nejrůznějších metod a postupů, jež povedou ke stabilizaci zdravotního stavu pacienta. Tato vize zůstala zatím nenaplněna, a proto sem putuje značná část prostředků Nadačního fondu IMPULS. Podporujeme rehabilitační služby, zejména fyzioterapii a psychoterapii, a přispíváme na nejmodernější rehabilitační a přístrojové vybavení. 12 Fyzioterapie a rehabilitace Dnes již víme, že základem úspěšné léčby řady chorob je nasazení správných rehabilitačních aktivit. V případě roztroušené sklerózy hraje hlavní roli pravidelný pohyb a dobrá fyzická kondice. Díky němu mohou nemocní zvládat řadu projevů choroby, jako je únava, poruchy stability a hybnosti, spasmy, deprese. Zajistit tým zkušených zdravotníků, kteří povedou individuální i skupinová fyzioterapeutická cvičení, se ukázalo jako úkol náročný, ne však nerealizovatelný. Nadačnímu fondu se to podařilo v RS centru Neurologické kliniky 1. LF UK a VFN Praha, kde se léčí nejvíce pacientů z celé republiky. I v roce 2014 zde využívali služby fyzioterapeutů nejen individuálně, ale i ve formě lekcí skupinového cvičení. Dalším projektem Nadačního fondu IMPULS, který se tradičně setkává s velkým ohlasem, je cyklus víkendových terapeutických pobytů „Potkalo se tělo s duší“. Pacienti zde po boku zkušených terapeutů procházejí netradičními formami terapií, jako je arteterapie, muzikoterapie či taneční terapie. Značnou pozornost věnuje nadační fond i projektům samotných pacientů či spřátelených neziskových organizací. Podruhé za sebou podpořil výpravu českých cyklistů z řad pacientů a jejich doprovodu na mezinárodní charitativní akci Climbing Mont Ventoux v jižní Francii. Na počátku srpna přivítal účastníky cyklistické výpravy kolem světa MS World Cycling Tour z francouzské neziskové organizace Cesta naděje a v listopadu se jako partner zúčastnil výstavy uměleckých prací pacientů s názvem Cesta za duhou. V roce 2014 přispěl Nadační fond IMPULS na fyzioterapeutickou péči nadačními příspěvky ve výši 1 079 770 Kč. Celkové náklady na fyzioterapii, do kterých jsou zahrnuty i vlastní projekty nadačního fondu, se pohybovaly ve výši 1 316 612 Kč. Psychoterapie Roztroušená skleróza je onemocnění, při kterém má velký vliv na celkový průběh nemoci psychický stav pacienta. Péče psychologa či psychoterapeuta je proto v léčbě významným článkem, jenž pomáhá překlenout prvotní nápor nemoci, zvládnout deprese, nízké sebevědomí a najít nový smysl života – života s hendikepem. V roce 2014 financoval nadační fond psychoterapeutickou péči v RS centrech Všeobecné fakultní nemocnice v Praze, Nemocnice Teplice a Fakultní nemocnice Plzeň. Finančně podpořil také šestitýdenní psychosomatický program „Vaše zdraví patří Vám“ zaměřený na pochopení příčin symptomů nemoci, porozumění signálů těla a nácvik relaxačních technik. Na psychoterapeutickou péči v roce 2014 vynaložil Nadační fond IMPULS na nadačních příspěvcích částku 452 880 Kč, celkové výdaje na psychoterapii včetně vlastních projektů dosáhly 481 113 Kč. Rehabilitační pomůcky a vybavení V řadě zařízení určených pro péči o nemocné s roztroušenou sklerózou se často nedostává všech prostředků na nejmodernější vybavení. To je případ i Domova sv. Josefa v Žirči, jediného lůžkového zařízení specializovaného na péči o nemocné s roztroušenou sklerózou. Nadační fond do domova věnoval 113 160 Kč na pořízení potřebného vybavení. Finance putovaly i do RS centra a na rehabilitační oddělení Nemocnice Jihlava, jejíž pacienti dostali k dispozici za pomoci nadačního fondu přes 30 nových rehabilitačních pomůcek. V roce 2014 Nadační fond IMPULS přispěl na vybavení léčebných center částkou 179 953 Kč a poskytl věcné dary v hodnotě 17 160 Kč. Podpora vědy a výzkumu I přes značný pokrok ve výzkumu v posledním desetiletí zůstává roztroušená skleróza v kategorii nevyléčitelných onemocnění. Přispět ke změně situace se snaží od svého vzniku i Nadační fond IMPULS. Z toho důvodu podporuje sběry klinických dat, jejichž cílem je přispět právě ke zlepšení léčby. Stěžejním projektem v této oblasti je dlouhodobý projekt Registr s roztroušenou sklerózou (ReMuS). 13 Projekt ReMuS Počet pacientů zařazených do analýzy registru ReMuS k 31. 12. 2014 Registr pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou (Multiple Sclerosis Patients Register – ReMuS) odstartoval v květnu 2013. Jeho účelem je získat spolehlivá, reprezentativní a dlouhodobá data o nemoci a léčbě, zmapovat reálnou situaci o onemocnění v ČR, vytvořit ucelený obraz efektivity léčby a pomoci při medicínském výzkumu. Zdroj: Pravidelný výstup z registru ReMuS – export dat ke dni 31. 12. 2014 Nadační fond IMPULS je zřizovatelem a provozovatelem tohoto registru. Jedná se o naprosto ojedinělou situaci v rámci Evropské unie, kdy je celostátní registr financován nestátní neziskovou organizací, a to pouze z nadačních prostředků. Odborným garantem projektu je Sekce neuroimunologie a likvorologie České neurologické společnosti ČLS JEP. Do konce roku 2014 se do registru zapojilo 5 639 pacientů z 12 RS center. Výstupy byly zahrnuty i do projektu evropského registru EUREMS organizace EMSP. Zprávy se souhrnnými výsledky, tabulkami a grafy jsou publikovány dvakrát ročně na webových stránkách Nadačního fondu IMPULS. Celkově věnoval Nadační fond IMPULS na výzkumné a vědecké účely nadační příspěvky ve výši 2 127 771 Kč. 1726 Praha 2 – Nové město V současné době (i přes svou krátkou dobu působnosti) je ReMuS jedinou celorepublikovou databází shromažďující data o průběhu a léčbě tohoto onemocnění v ČR a řadí se tak mezi prestižní evropské registry. Osvěta a vzdělání Zvýšit povědomí o nemoci jako takové, zbavit ji přežitých pověr a polopravd, povzbudit pacienty k aktivnímu přístupu a pravidelnému pohybu, získat pro ně pochopení a pomoc. Tak by se daly v kostce shrnout cíle osvětových akcí a kampaní Nadačního fondu IMPULS. Ze vzdělávacích aktivit se v roce 2014 zaměřil nadační fond na zdravotní sestry RS center, pro něž uspořádal akreditovaný seminář na téma Novinky v terapii roztroušené sklerózy, a podpořil Demyelinizační seminář Hennerovy neurologické kliniky v Praze. Nejvýraznějšími aktivitami v této oblasti byl jarní 24hodinový Maraton s roztroušenou sklerózou (MaRS), benefiční Koncert pro IMPULS, tisková konference k výsledkům sběru dat do registru ReMuS, prezentace fondu v rámci aktivit Světového dne roztroušené sklerózy či veletrhu Non-Handicap. V tomto roce jsme také završili projekt kalendáře „Klapzubova jedenáctka“, který vznikl ve spolupráci s Českou asociací fotbalových hráčů. Stejně jako v případě cvičebního maratonu MaRS byl hlavním motivem pohyb, sport a vytrvalost. Zástupci nadačního fondu se zúčastnili různých odborných aktivit. Jmenujme například mezinárodní výroční konferenci Evropské platformy pro roztroušenou sklerózu (EMSP) v Dublinu a evropské MS kolokvium v Bruselu nebo podzimní pracovní setkání na půdě konzultantské společnosti KPMG ČR v rámci programu odborné pomoci neziskovým organizacím pod záštitou Asociace Fóra dárců. Na vzdělávání přispěl nadační fond formou nadačních příspěvků částkou 3 300 Kč, celkově však vynaložil na osvětové a vzdělávací aktivity včetně vlastních projektů 1 013 761 Kč. „Život je někdy velmi skoupý, uplynou dny, týdny, měsíce a roky, aniž člověk zažije něco nového. Kráčej vedle mě a buď můj přítel.“ Albert Camus 16 V roce 2014 uspořádal nadační fond řadu benefičních, osvětových akcí, kulturních či vzdělávacích akcí, řady dalších se zúčastnil a podpořil je. Připomeňme si ty nejdůležitější. MaRS 2014 – 3. ročník Maratonu s roztroušenou sklerózou Česká republika, 7. – 8. 3. 2014 MARS 2014 Na 630 sportovců v 11 městech po celé republice přišlo podpořit o prvním březnovém víkendu myšlenku nezbytnosti pravidelného pohybu při léčbě roztroušené sklerózy. Nadační fond IMPULS organizoval potřetí 24hodinový Maraton s roztroušenou sklerózou – MaRS 2014. Poprvé se sportovní kampaň rozšířila po celé republice a poprvé se do kruhových tréninků cvičení zapojily i celé firemní týmy. Celkový výtěžek ve výši 144 044 Kč putoval na nákup chybějících rehabilitačních pomůcek pacientům s roztroušenou sklerózou. 17 Tisková konference k projektu ReMuS Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, Praha 9, 26. 3. 2014 Roční výsledky sběru dat do celostátního Registru pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou ReMuS prezentoval Nadační fond IMPULS na tiskové konferenci za laskavé podpory Clarion Congress Hotel Prague. Tiskové konference se kromě zástupců Nadačního fondu IMPULS, SNIL České neurologické společnosti ČLS JEP a pacientských organizací zúčastnil i místopředseda vlády MVDr. Pavel Bělobrádek, Ph.D., MPA. Koncert pro IMPULS Museum Kampa, Praha 1, 17. 4. 2014 Tóny multižánrového uskupení Clarinet Factory rozezněly v polovině dubna historické sály Sovových Mlýnů v Praze na Kampě při tradičním benefičním Koncertu pro IMPULS. Ani letos nebyla nouze o milá překvapení. Jedním z nich byla ukázka laserové harfy, kterou si mohli vyzkoušet i sami návštěvníci koncertu. Výtěžek benefice dosáhl 292 300 Kč a již podruhé putoval ve prospěch Registru pacientů s RS (ReMuS). KONCERT PRO IMPULS 18 Záštitu nad Nadačním fondem IMPULS převzal 28. května 2014 místopředseda vlády pro vědu, výzkum a inovace MVDr. Pavel Bělobrádek, Ph.D., MPA. Patronát a tisková konference ke Světovému dni roztroušené sklerózy Úřad vlády Praha, 28. 5. 2014 V zelené kravatě a se zelenou stužkou na klopě vystoupil na tiskové konferenci 28. května 2014 místopředseda vlády MVDr. Pavel Bělobrádek, Ph.D., MPA, aby převzal patronát nad Nadačním fondem IMPULS. Na tiskové konferenci vystoupila i prof. MUDr. Eva Havrdová, CSc., vedoucí RS centra Neurologické kliniky 1. LF UK a VFN v Praze, která upozornila na to, že pojišťovny hradí pouze léčbu medikamenty, ne však související péči rehabilitační a psychoterapeutickou. Právě tu finančně zajišťuje z nadačních příspěvků Nadační fond IMPULS. Světový den roztroušené sklerózy a sbírka studentů Anglického gymnázia Praha, 28. 5. 2014 Vyjádřit solidaritu s nemocnými a rozšířit povědomí veřejnosti o roztroušené skleróze – to bylo účelem akcí Nadačního fondu IMPULS ve středu 28. května 2014. Připomínal si totiž Světový den roztroušené sklerózy. Dopoledne proběhlo společné vystoupení s vicepremiérem vlády MVDr. Pavlem Bělobrádkem, Ph.D., MPA, po poledni rozběhli studenti Anglického gymnázia v Sokolovské sbírkovou a osvětovou akci v pražských ulicích. V zelených tričkách upozorňovali kolemjdoucí na onemocnění, jeho problematiku, rozdávali drobné upomínkové předměty. Do zapečetěných pokladniček se jim podařilo získat 4 971 Kč na nákup rehabilitačních pomůcek. Potkalo se tělo s duší rekreační areál u Jetřichovic 28. 3. – 30. 3., 23. 5. – 25. 5., 3. – 5. 10. 2014 POTKALO SE TĚLO S DUŠÍ Již čtvrtým rokem pořádá Nadační fond IMPULS úspěšný cyklus terapeutických víkendových pobytů „Potkalo se tělo s duší“. Je určen pacientům, kteří se pomocí rozličných terapeutických technik učí vyrovnat s nemocí a hledat souvislosti mezi psychikou a fyzickým stavem. Pro velký ohlas a pozitivní výsledky z minulých let proběhla hned tři setkání, dvě jarní a jedno podzimní. Zdroj: Ondřej Vysypal CLIMBING MONT VENTOUX Podpora charitativní výpravy MS World Cycling Tour Praha, 7. 8. 2014 Uprostřed prázdnin přivítali v Praze zástupci Nadačního fondu IMPULS a Unie Roska výpravu cyklistů z francouzské neziskové organizace Cesta naděje. Tým složený z 54letého pacienta Gerarda Guillouzica, jeho syna a čtyř mladých lidí odstartoval svoji cyklistickou pouť kolem světa 12. července 2014 z francouzského Lille. Projel západní Evropou, aby se přes Česko přesunul do severní Evropy a následně navštívil všechny další kontinenty. Myšlenkou výpravy je podpořit všechny, kteří se potýkají s roztroušenou sklerózou a dodat jim odvahu splnit si i ty zdánlivě nemožné sny. Climbing Mont Ventoux – charitativní cyklistická akce Provensálské Alpy, Francie, 9. 6. 2014 Více než 800 účastníků, výtěžek 853 350 EUR. Taková byla výsledná bilance mezinárodní cyklistické akce proti roztroušené skleróze Climbing Mont Ventoux 2014. Podruhé se k ní připojil i Nadační fond IMPULS, který finančně a organizačně zastřešil výpravu sedmnáctičlenné české posádky pacientů s jejich doprovodem. Cyklisté museli tentokrát zdolat obtížné stoupání na mytickou jihofrancouzskou Větrnou horu (1912 m) při silném větru a o teplotě šplhající až k 40 stupňům. Za každého účastníka byl na léčbu a výzkum nemoci připsán nizozemskému Národnímu MS fondu příspěvek 500 EUR, nadační fond se podílel částkou 219 240 Kč. PODPORA CHARITATIVNÍ VÝPRAVY MS WORLD CYCLING TOUR 19 Kalendář „Klapzubova jedenáctka“ 2014 kalendář do každé rodiny Prezentace na veletrhu Pragomedica – Non-Handicap Výstaviště Praha Holešovice, 22. – 24. 10. 2014 Naše fotbalová reprezentace včetně trenéra Ivana Haška rozehrála zápas na stránkách nástěnného kalendáře „Klap zubova jedenáctka“, který připravil Nadační fond IMPULS v rámci osvětové kampaně o roztroušené skleróze. Kalendář vyšel v roce 2013 v nákladu 5 000 kusů a byl distribuován i v průběhu roku 2014. Fotografie pro nadační fond benefičně vytvořil známý fotograf Robert Vano. Výtěžek ve výši 309 671 Kč putoval na konto projektu Registru pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou. Veletrh PRAGOMEDICA – NON-HANDICAP se stal již tradičním místem pro setkávání jak lidí s hendikepem, tak odborníků, zdravotních firem a neziskových organizací. Letos nechyběl na holešovickém Výstavišti ani Nadační fond IMPULS. Ve spolupráci s pacientským sdružením Unie Roska představil na veletrhu od 22. do 24. října své projekty pro pacienty s roztroušenou sklerózou, zejména registr ReMuS a maraton MaRS 2015, a další dobročinné aktivity. Přítomné upozornil i na význam speciální rehabilitace a práci odborných RS center. KALENDÁŘ KLAPZUBOVA JEDENÁCTKA Fotbalový turnaj Šumavský král Stachy, 28. 6. 2014 Poslední červnovou sobotu si dali sraz fanoušci kopané v šumavském městečku Stachy na Prachaticku. Pořadatelé zdejšího fotbalového klubu ve spolupráci s Českou asociací fotbalových hráčů uspořádali benefiční turnaj Král Šumavy a spojili tak sportovního ducha s dobročinností. Během sportovního odpoledne proběhla dražba dresů našich reprezentantů a kalendáře Nadačního fondu IMPULS. Celkovým výtěžkem ve výši 5 620 Kč dobrovolníci podpořili projekt registru ReMuS. 20 FOTBALOVÝ TURNAJ ŠUMAVSKÝ KRÁL Program odborné pomoci společnosti KPMG ČR a Asociace nadačních fondů Praha 8, podzim 2014 Zástupci fondu se na podzim zúčastnili projektu odborné pomoci neziskovým organizacím Asociace nadačních fondů Fóra dárců. V rámci programu měli k dispozici tým expertních dobrovolníků ze společnosti KPMG ČR, aby identifikovali problematické oblasti práce nadačního fondu a našli nové cesty, jak posílit dárcovství a zefektivnit svoji práci. Program proběhl formou pravidelných konzultací, výstupem je návrh marketingové koncepce. 12. ročník výstavy Cesta za duhou 2014 Ministerstvo zdravotnictví, Praha 2, 4. 11. – 28. 11. 2014 Již podvanácté se Nadační fond IMPULS stal partnerem projektu Cesta za Duhou. Cílem výstavy je představit umělecká díla autorů s roztroušenou sklerózou, jejich pohled na svět kolem sebe a na svou nemoc. Letošní ročník se uskutečnil ve vstupní hale Ministerstva zdravotnictví v Praze. K vidění byly olejomalby, kresby, enkaustické abstrakce, fotografie, šperky, malby na skle či literární díla 27 autorů. Akreditovaný seminář sester Hotel Luník, Praha 2, 8. 11. 2014 Zdravotní sestry z RS center celé republiky se sešly na pozvání nadačního fondu druhou listopadovou sobotu v pražském hotelu Luník. Proběhl zde seminář na téma Novinky v terapii roztroušené sklerózy. Na semináři vystoupily známé lékařské kapacity, prof. MUDr. Eva Havrdová, CSc. s přednáškou o nových léčebných postupech a preparátech RS a MUDr. Libor Zámečník, Ph.D., FEBU, FECSM s tématem urologických poruch a sexuální dysfunkce. Odborné setkání doplnila zkušená psychoterapeutka Renáta Malinová s nejnovějšími poznatky v oboru psychoterapie. Seminář byl zařazen do kreditního systému celoživotního vzdělávání České asociace sester. SBÍRKA PRO IMPULS VÝSTAVA CESTA ZA DUHOU Sbírka pro IMPULS na anglickém bleším trhu SPŠST v Panské Praha 1, 19. 12. 2014 Anglie je známá jako země bleších trhů, na kterých lze sehnat rozličné použité věcičky, sběratelské kousky a cokoliv funkčního ze skříní. Tradice však nezaplavuje jen rušné ulice Londýna a evropských metropolí, stále častěji se s nimi setkáváme i v našich končinách. Jeden takový bleší trh uspořádali před vánoci i studenti Střední průmyslové školy sdělovací techniky v Praze 1 pod vedením PhDr. Dagmar Vackové. If a person is diagnosed a disease with unpredictable course that will accompany him for the rest of his life, his worldview will change. And it is exactly the view through the eyes of people that have multiple sclerosis as their companion that we want to bring nearer to all, whether they meet our non-profit organization for the first time, or accompany us on the way already for years. If the present changes our insight into the past changes, too.” Bohuslav Martinů 50 Statute and Goals of IMPULS, Endowment Fund IMPULS, Endowment Fund, was founded on April 6, 2000, as the first independent non-profit subject specialized in the issue of cerebrospinal multiple sclerosis (sclerosis multiplex). It is a disease that relates, especially, to young people between 20–40 years old. And, currently, it is the most common disease of the nervous system in adolescents. The purpose of IMPULS, Endowment Fund, is stated by its Foundation Charter and Statute. It is support of research of multiple sclerosis, public awareness, therapy, and rehabilitation. Activity of IMPULS, Endowment Fund, consists in collecting, and transparent distribution of financial means. In case of IMPULS, Endowment Fund, these means are spent with one unique goal – to help the largest number of people with multiple sclerosis. Individuals take advantage of the financial help through departments dealing with diagnosis and treatment of the disease. Such departments are the so called MS Centers, specialized neurological departments, where the treatment of people with multiple sclerosis is concentrated. These centers provide professional health care to patients. However, they are lacking finances for other services that determine the quality and adequacy of patients’ live. Especially, we have in mind physiotherapy, care by a neuropsychologist, social counseling, and other professions which are a common practice in such centers in developed countries. IMPULS, Endowment Fund, wants to help right in this area to ensure quality rehabilitation service to patients with focus on physiotherapy and psychotherapy. However, one endowment fund is not able to cover all system shortcomings. Cooperation with patient organizations and motivation of patients themselves is important as well. Therefore the Endowment Fund supports projects, leading patients to active approach to the disease, to themselves, and to their environment, and also to the responsibility to the issue of multiple sclerosis itself. There are about 17,000 people suffering with the incurable disease, multiple sclerosis, in the Czech Republic. Every year, new patients, mostly young people, are diagnosed. These people have to walk through the life side by side with the disease, never knowing in advance when it will attack them. It is a disease for which there is no cure, and the only hope is science and research. The Endowment Fund dedicates considerable endeavor and means, also in this area. The statewide register of patients with multiple sclerosis, ReMuS, which is collecting data for research purposes, is the evidence for that. IMPULS, Endowment Fund, runs and completely finances the Register from its own resources, as the only non-profit organization in the European Union. 51 The pace of progress in development of new medications is fast. Vision that multiple sclerosis will become a reading-book story is in sight. Nevertheless, writing of the story will require much work, endeavor, and finances. Online donation through the webpage www.nfimpuls.cz using payment interface or payment card. 55 Review of Activities in 2014 For fourteen years, IMPULS, Endowment Fund, is engaged in the field of multiple sclerosis. For fourteen years, we are glad about every project that has been brought into life, and that will help where the lack of public finances is most apparent – outpatient’s departments and medical departments. Support of Treatment of Patients in Specialized MS Centers In this respect, we especially have in mind network of professional neurological departments where most patients are treated. At the turn of the century, when these so called MS Centers arose, it was anticipated that they would provide complex treatment to the patients. Complex means using different methods and procedures that would lead to the stabilization of the state of health of the patient. This vision has not been fulfilled yet. Therefore, a considerable part of means of IMPULS, Endowment Fund, is directed here. We support rehabilitation services, in particular, physiotherapy and psychotherapy, and contribute to the most modern rehabilitation equipment. 56 Physiotherapy and rehabilitation Today, we know that application of good rehabilitation activities is the basis for a successful treatment of many diseases. In case of multiple sclerosis, regular exercise and good physical condition represent the main part. Thanks to it, sick people can handle many manifestations of the disease, such as fatigue, reduced stability and ability to move, spasms, depression. Providing a team of experienced medics to lead individual and group physiotherapeutic exercise, proved to be a hard task but not unfeasible. The Endowment Fund succeeded in the MS Center of the Department of Neurology 1st Faculty of Medicine and General University Hospital in Prague where most patients from the entire Czech Republic are treated. Here, patients used the service of physiotherapists both individually and in form of lessons of group exercise, also in 2014. Another IMPULS, Endowment Funds, project that has traditionally great acclaim, is a cycle of weekend therapeutic stay “Body Meets the Soul”. Here, patients together with experienced therapists go through nontraditional forms of therapy, such as artetherapy, musikotherapy or dance therapy. The Endowment Fund also pays big attention to projects of patients, or associated non-profit organizations. For the second time consecutively, it supported a tour of Czech cyclists – patients, and their accompaniment – on a charity international event “Climbing Mont Ventoux” in southern France. In the beginning of August, the Fund welcomed participants of cycling tour around the world MS World Cycling Tour from French non-profit organization Path of Hope and in the beginning of August, it participated as partner in exhibition of artworks of patients with multiple sclerosis, called Journey to the Rainbow. In 2014, IMPULS, Endowment Fund, contributed with endowment means to physiotherapeutic care CZK 1,079,770, in total. Total costs for physiotherapy, including own projects of the Endowment Fund, amounted to CZK 316,612. Psychotherapy Multiple sclerosis is a disease when psychologic state of the patient has a big influence on the general course of the disease. Therefore, psychologist’s or psychotherapist’s care is an important part of the treatment. It helps to overcome primary onset of disease, to overcome depression, low self-esteem, and to find a new sense of life – life with handicap. In 2014, the Endowment Fund financed psychotherapeutic care in MS Centers of the General University Hospital in Prague, Hospital in Teplice and University Hospital, Plzeň. The Fund also supported financially the six-week-long psychosomatic program “Your Health Belongs to You”, focused on the understanding of what are the causes of symptoms of the disease, understanding signals of the body and practice of relaxation techniques. In 2014, IMPULS, Endowment Fund, spent on endowment contributions CZK 452,880. Total costs for psychotherapy, including own projects, amounted to CZK 481,113. Rehabilitation Tools and Equipment Often, in many institutions designated for care for people with multiple sclerosis, there is a lack of means for the most modern equipment. This is the case of Domov sv. Josefa in Žírec, the only bed establishment specialized in care for people with multiple sclerosis. Endowment fund donated CZK 113,160 for the purchase of necessary equipment, in the last year. Finances were also given to MS Center and rehabilitation department in the hospital in Jihlava whose patients, thanks to the Endowment Fund, received more than thirty rehabilitation tools. In 2014, IMPULS, Endowment fund contributed on medical and therapeutic centers CZK 179,935 and provided gifts worth CZK 17,160. Support for Science and Research Despite a substantial progress in research in the last decade, multiple sclerosis still remains in the category of incurable diseases. Since its establishment, IMPULS, Endowment Fund, tries to contribute to change the situation. Therefore, it supports collection of clinical data, the aim of which is to contribute to the improvement of treatment. Crucial project in this area is the long-term project of a Register of patients with multiple sclerosis (ReMuS). 57 The Project ReMuS Number of Patients Included into the Analysis of the ReMuS Register by 12/31/2014 Register of patients with multiple sclerosis (Multiple Sclerosis Patients Register – ReMuS) started in May 2013. The aim is to obtain reliable, representative and long-term data about the disease and treatment, to map the real situation about the disease in the Czech Republic, to create a comprehensive picture of treatment effectiveness, and to help medical research. In this way, the goals of public awareness, and activities of IMPULS, Endowment Fund, could be shortly summarized. The most outstanding activities in this area were the spring 24-Hour Marathon for Multiple Sclerosis (MaRS), beneficiary Concert for IMPULS, press conference concerning the outcomes of data collecting for ReMuS Register, Presentation of the Fund in pursuance with activities connected with the World Multiple Sclerosis Day, or the Trade Show Non-Handicap. In this year, we also accomplished the project of the calendar “Klapzuba’s Eleven” which was created in cooperation with the Czech Association of Football Players. As well as in the case of training marathon MaRS, the main motif was exercise, sport, and persistence. Among educational activities, the Endowment Fund focused on nurses in MS Centers, in 2014. It organized for them an accredited seminar “News in the Therapy of Multiple Sclerosis”, and supported the “Demyelination Seminar” of Henners neurologic Clinique in Prague. Representatives of the Endowment Fund took part in different expert activities. Namely, e.g., the international annual conference European Multiple Sclerosis Platform (EMSP) in Dublin, and European MS colloquium held in Brussels, or autumn working meeting in the premises of the consulting company KPMG ČR, within the program of professional help to non-profit organizations under the patronage of the Donors Forum Association. Endowment Fund contributed to education in form of endowment contributions CZK 3,300. Albert Camus In 2014, Endowment Fund organized a number of beneficiary, cultural, or educational events, and events focused on raising of public awareness. It also took part in many others and supported them. Let’s remember the most important ones. MaRS 2014 – 3rd Year of Marathon with Multiple Sclerosis, Czech Republic, March 7–8, 2014 MARS 2014 On the first weekend in March, about 630 sportsmen from 11 cities in the whole Republic came to support the thought of essentiality of regular exercise in the treatment of multiple sclerosis. IMPULS, Endowment Fund, organized for the third time 24-Hour Marathon with Multiple Sclerosis – MaRS 2014. For the first time the sport campaign spread throughout the whole Republic and for the first time company teams joined round training of exercise. Total proceeds amounting to CZK 144,044 were dedicated for the purchase of lacking rehabilitation tools for patients with multiple sclerosis. 61 Press Conference on the Project ReMuS, Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, Prague 9, 3/26/2014 IMPULS, Endowment Fund, presented yearly outcomes of data collecting in the statewide Register of patients with multiple sclerosis ReMuS, on the press conference with kind support of Clarion Congress Hotel, Prague. Representatives of IMPULS, Endowment Fund, SNIL of the Czech Neurological Association ČLS JEP, organizations of patients, and also deputy prime minister MVDr. Pavel Bělobrádek, Ph.D, MPA, took part on the press conference. Concert for IMPULS, Museum Kampa, Prague 1, 4/17/2014 Multi genre tones of Clarinet Factory group resounded historical halls of Sovovy Mlýny in Prague, Kampa, during the traditional beneficiary Concert for IMPULS, in the midst of April. Also this year many kind surprises expected the visitors. One of them was the presentation of a laser harp, and the visitors of the concert were given the opportunity to try it. Proceeds of the beneficiary event amounted to CZK 292,300, and, already for the second time, it was dedicated in favor of the Register of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis (ReMuS). CONCERT FOR IMPULS 62 On the 5/28/2014, deputy prime minister MVDr. Pavel Bělobrádek, Ph.D, MPA, took patronage over IMPULS, Endowment Fund. Patronage and Press Conference on Occasion of the World Multiple Sclerosis Day, Government Office, Prague, 5/28/2014 On the 5/28/2014, with a green tie and a green band on lapel, deputy prime minister MVDr. Pavel Bělobrádek, Ph.D, MPA, appeared on the press conference to take patronage over IMPULS, Endowment Fund. Prof. MUDr. Eva Havrdová, CSc., head of the MS Center of the Department of Neurology 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague, also spoke on the press conference and pointed out that insurance companies reimburse only medicaments treatment, and not the related rehabilitation and psychotherapeutic care. IMPULS, Endowment Fund, assures financially exactly this care from its endowment contributions. World Multiple Sclerosis Day – Collection of English Secondary School Students, Prague, 5/28/2014 To express solidarity with the sick people, and raise public awareness about multiple sclerosis was the purpose of events organized by IMPULS, Endowment Fund, on May 28, 2014. It commemorated the World Multiple Sclerosis Day. In the morning a joint appearance with deputy prime minister MVDr. Pavel Bělobrádek, Ph.D, MPA took place. In the afternoon, students of English Secondary School in Sokolovská street started a collection, and public awareness event in the streets of Prague. Clothed in green T-shirts, they draw attention of people passing by to inform them about the disease, its issue, and they handed out small commemorative articles. In sealed money boxes, they managed to gain CZK 4,971 for the purchase of rehabilitation tools. “Body Meets the Soul”, a Recreation Premises near Jetřichovice, March 28 – 30, May 23 – 25, October 3 – 5, 2014 For the 4th year already, IMPULS, Endowment Fund, organizes the successful therapeutic weekend stay “Body Meets the Soul”. It is designed for patients who learn with help of different therapeutic techniques, how to cope with the disease, and search for connection between psyche, and physical state. Because of great interest, and positive results in the past years, three meetings took place – two of them in spring and one in autumn. Source: Ondřej Vysypal CLIMBING MONT VENTOUX Support of Charity Tour MS World Cycling Tour, Prague, 8/7/2014 In the midst of summer holidays, representatives of IMPULS, Endowment Fund, and Roska Union welcomed a tour of cyclists from the French non-profit organization Path of Hope. On July 12, the team composed by 54 years old patient Gerard Guillouzic, his son, and four young people, started their cycling tour around the world in the French city of Lille. They passed through western Europe, wanting to reach northern Europe by moving across the Czech Republic, and afterwards, visit all other continents. The idea of the tour was to support all who are struggling with multiple sclerosis, and encourage them to make their seemingly impossible dreams come true. BODY MEETS THE SOUL Climbing Mont Ventoux – Charity Cycling Event, Provence Alps, France, 6/9/2014 More than 800 participants, and proceeds amounting to EUR 853,350. This was the final balance of international cycling event against multiple sclerosis – Climbing Mont Ventoux 2014. For the second time, IMPULS, Endowment Fund, also joined the event, and roofed financially and organizationally a team of seventeen Czech patients with their accompaniment. This time, cyclists had to overcome difficult climbing on the mythical “Wind Mountain” (1912 m) in southern France, with strong wind and temperature reaching 40°C. For every participant a contribution of EUR 500 was credited to the Dutch National MS Fund for treatment and research of the disease. The Endowment Fund contributed with the sum of CZK 219,240. MS WORLD CYCLING TOUR 63 Calendar “Klapzuba’s Eleven” 2014 Calendar for Every Family Football representation and the coach Ivan Hasek opened a match on the pages of the wall calendar “Klapzuba’s Eleven”, that was prepared by IMPULS, Endowment Fund, within the campaign of raising of public awareness about multiple sclerosis. Calendar was published in 2013. The number of copies was 5,000, and it was also distributed during 2014. Renowned photographer Robert Vano created beneficently the photographs for the Endowment Fund. Proceeds amounted to CZK 309,671, and it was dedicated in favor of the project Register of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis. KLAPZUBA’S ELEVEN Endowments Fund calendar took place. With total proceeds of CZK 5,620 volunteers supported the project of ReMuS Register. Presentation on Pragomedica Trade Show – Non-Handicap, Prague Exhibition Holešovice, October 22 – 24, 2014 Trade show PRAGOMEDICA – NON-HANDICAP has become traditional meeting place for people with handicap, and experts, health companies, and non-profit organizations. Like in other years, also this year, IMPULS, Endowment Fund, was present at the Exhibition Holešovice. In cooperation with Patients association Union Roska, it presented its projects for patients with multiple sclerosis, especially ReMuS Register, and Marathon MaRS 2015, and other charity activities. It drew attention of the visitors to special rehabilitation and work of specialized MS Centers. BOHEMIAN FOREST KING Football Tournament „Bohemian Forest King”, Stachy, 6/28/2014 Last Saturday in June, football fans met in the town of Stachy, district Prachatice, in Bohemian Forest. Hosts of the local football club in cooperation with the Czech Association of Football Players organized a beneficiary tournament „Bohemian Forest King”, and so connected the sports spirit with beneficence. During the sports afternoon, an auction of football dresses of our national team members, and 64 Professional Help Program Organized by Company KPMG ČR and Association of Endowment Funds, Prague 8, Autumn 2014 In autumn, representatives of the Fund took part in the project of professional assistance to non-profit organizations of the Association of Endowment Funds Donors Forum. In the program, they had expert volunteers from the company KPMG at hand, to identify problematic areas of endowment funds activity, and to find new ways how to strengthen donorship, and make their work more efficient. The program consisted of regular consultations. Its result is a marketing conception plan. 12th Year of the Exposition “Cesta za duhou” 2014, Ministry of Health, Prague 2, 11/4–11/28, 2014 Already for the twelfth time, IMPULS, Endowment Fund, was partner of the project “Cesta za duhou” (“Journey to the Rainbow”). The aim of the exhibition was to present artworks of authors with multiple sclerosis, their view of the world around them and their disease. This year, exposition took place in the entrance hall of the Ministry of Health in Prague. There were on public display oil paintings, drawings, encaustic abstracts, photographs, jewels, glass-paintings, or literary works from 27 authors. JOURNEY TO THE RAINBOW Accredited Seminar for Nurses, Luník Hotel, Prague 2, 11/8/2014 At the invitation of the Endowment Fund, nurses from all MS Centers in the Czech Republic gathered in Prague Luník hotel, on the second Saturday in November. Here, a seminar on the topic “News in the Therapy of Multiple Sclerosis” took place. Known medical authorities spoke at the seminar. Prof. MUDr. Eva Havrdová, CSc. talked about new medical approaches and new medical preparations for MS, and Libor Zámečník, Ph.D., FEBU, FECSM talked on the topic of urological disorders and sexual dysfunctions. Renáta Malinová, experienced psychotherapist, completed the expert meeting with the newest findings in the field of psychotherapy. The seminar was included into the credit system of lifelong education of the Czech Association of Nurses. COLLECTION FOR IMPULS Collection for IMPULS in the English Flea Market SPŠST in Panská Street, Prague 1, 12/19/2014 England is known as the land of flea markets where one can find different used articles, collector’s pieces, and whatever functional that can be found in the closet. Hana Káralová Date of preparation: 6/29/ 2015 Supervisory Board’s Report 2014 Supervisory Board’s Report 2014 Endowment Fund IMPULS IMPULS, Endowment Fund, was founded by an agreement between founders and came into being on April 6, 2000, when it was registered in the Endowment Register, Section N, insert 325 by the Prague City Court. The report is focused on Supervisory Board‘s monitoring activities and the result of financial statements 2014. In 2014, Supervisory Board ensured duties assigned to it by law, and by the Statute of Endowment Fund IMPULS. The Board supervised the performance of Managing Board, controlled accounting records and other financial evidence of the Endowment Fund IMPULS. It evaluated the management and control system effectiveness and assessed it on a regular basis. After reviewing financial statements for the period from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2014, Supervisory Board, basing on auditor’s opinion, stated that accounting records and evidence had been kept in a conclusive way and comply with generally binding regulations on bookkeeping. The accounting records and evidence depict all important aspects of the financial position of the Endowment Fund IMPULS. Financial statements drawn up on the basis of these accounting records provide a true and honest picture of the Fund’s accounting and financial position. The auditor of the company audited the fund’s financial statements and expressed its opinion without reservations. Supervisory Board recommends that the Managing Board approves the financial statements 2014 as proposed. The following is still valid: - Mgr.
