RUN FOR A GOOD CAUSE
Running and charity are connected together, even if it is not clear at first glance. Runners could get a start
number for the Mattoni Half Marathon Ústí nad Labem from a charity partner.
• The main Charity partner of the Mattoni Ústí nad Labem Half Marathon is Flame of Hope.
• The Flame of Hope supports children with physical and mental disabilities and those from socially
disadvantaged backgrounds in the Ústecký region.
• RunCzech actively cooperates with the Primary School and Kindergarten, Pod Parkem, in Ústí nad Labem
for children with multiple handicaps. The Flame of Hope participates with children in running events such as
the Mattoni Ústí nad Labem Half Marathon to enjoy the atmosphere from the race, and build a relationship to
sport. The collected money is contributed to sport activities for the children.

• RunCzech cooperates with approximately 25 non-profit organizations that buy start numbers for discounted
price and then sell them for their own price.
• Virgin London Marathon is considered to be the biggest fundraising sport event in the world. Since 1981 it has

WHAT PARTNERS HAVE PREPARED FOR RUNNERS
RUN MATTONI FREERUN!
The Mattoni FreeRun is a network of running trails all over the Czech Republic.
Individually, they are 5km long and they are verified by thousands of runners.
A Mattoni FreeRun coach was assigned to each of these trails. This coach
will be organizing running groups and preparing trainings. The coaches
will connect to other runners through Facebook groups and the RunCzech
mobile app, which allows users to communicate and compare results easily.
Members of the running team, built by the coach, will also gain points, which
awards the passion for running with rewards such as discounts on running
gear, etc. The goal of this project is clear – to make Czechs run!
RUN “BLUE” , RUN WISELY...AND NOT ALONE
Run Blue is an initiative from the largest automobile group Volkswagen
that is building on its worldwide campaign Think Blue. You can find
out more about the Run Blue concept as well as catch up on the latest
running world news on www.runblue.cz. Missing one member for your
relay or looking for a running teammate? Volkswagen has put together
a new project, Run Blue Co-Runners, a meeting forum for runners so

SPOLCHEMIE CHEMISTRY OPEN ITS GATES FOR RUNNERS
Not even for the 5th edition of the favorite Mattoni Ústí nad Labem Half
Marathon will the Spolchemie Company leave its gates closed. Despite the
intensive construction of a membrane electrolysis system in the area of the
Spolchemie chemical plant, in order to reduce the environmental impact of
the production, the management has agreed to have with the realization of
nearly three-kilometers of the half marathon course leading from west to east
through the plant. The safety of the plant was already proven not only during
the previous four races, but also at last year’s measurement of air pollution
within the area of the chemical plant. The organizers of the Mattoni Ústí nad
Labem Half Marathon also prepared a pre-race run with elite runners for those
who are interested. The meeting is on Friday September 11 at 5:00 p.m. in front
of the Culture House in Ústi nad Labem. The route leads through the historic
center of Ústí nad Labem to the Spolchemie industrial administrative building.
BEST WESTERN HOTEL VLADIMIR
The official marathon house, which has hosted elite runners and the organizing
team since the 1st edition of the Mattoni Ústí nad Labem Half Marathon. Apart
from the hotel accommodation, the BEST WESTERN Hotel Vladimir looks after
its guests during the social events in the early evening before the race day and
on the race day welcomes its guests on the Mírové Square. In a cooperation
with RunCzech, every year the hotel hosts kids from children´s homes from the
Ústecký region. Children here celebrate St. Nicholas Day or Christmas holiday
and who participate in family runs.

RUNNERS CODE AND MEDICAL RUN
Projects such as Running Etiquette or the Medical Run were developed
in cooperation with ČSOB insurance company. The main goal of Running
Etiquette is to educate runners during their preparation for the races and
to increase their safety and joy from the run. The Medical Run is for all
doctors, nurses, medical students or other workers from the medical field
and supports runners from the medical field and a healthy life style. ČSOB
Pojišťovna also offers cancellation and accident insurance for runners.

NA RYCHTĚ
The restaurant Na Rychtě regularly prepares the pre-race party for all runners and
visitors. This year it will be not different. If the refreshment is not sufficient for you,
please come to our restaurant just a few metres from the finishing gate, where
we drink to your success!
DOBROVOLNICKÉ CENTRUM
Almost 600 volunteers take part in the preparation and the smooth running of
the race, and all together create the right racing atmosphere for the runners.
The volunteers, both permanent and new, help at the refreshment points, at
the start/finish, along the course during the race and in many other places. This
year, the Volunteer Centre celebrates its fifth of cooperation with RunCzech

become an official photo partner of the Mattoni Ústí nad Labem Half Marathon.

MUSEUM OF ÚSTÍ NAD LABEM
Work hard and don´t forget to run to our museum. Within the cooperation
with RunCzech we have prepared a children´s corner in our museum´s
courtyard and we have also welcomed runners of the half marathon. This year,
we would like to invite all to enjoy a little bit of culture along with the sport
activities within the running weekend. Did you know, that the distance of a
family run equals twelve laps around the museum and the distance of half
marathon is 86 laps around the building? Join us in training!
KOKTEJL
Apart from the running excitement, the KOKTEJL magazine is always with
runners. This year, the editorial team has come up with the new title „Do you
know why?“... the magazine, which feeds your brain with all the necessary
information and every runner has opportunity to get it at the Running Expo.
KULTURNÍ STŘEDISKO MĚSTA ÚSTÍ NAD LABEM
The race would work without its registration place, the Running Expo. The
Culture House, which holds the official Running Expo, was established in
March 1964. The Culture House provides 700 rooms with the capacity of
2 000 visitors. During the half marathon and opening hours, which is 13 hours,
at least 5 600 active participants and more visitors come to the Culture House.
ZOO ÚSTÍ
The zoo in Ústí nad Labem covers an area of 26 hectares and rears more
than 200 kinds of animals from the whole world except the Antarctic. For
its visitors, the zoo offers a program during the whole year, events for the
general public, shows with animals, workshops for schools or adventure
programs for fans of animals. The zoo in Ústí nad Labem will participate in
the Mattoni Ústí nad Labem Half Marathon. At the starting point, there will
be an art workshop, competition for children, sale of souvenirs, information
stand and advertising materials from the zoo.

GATE TO BOHEMIA. WELCOME TO THE ÚSTÍ REGION
The Ústí nad Labem Region, established 15 years ago, is divided into seven
districts – the Ústí district, perceived as the cradle of Czech statehood, the district
of Děčín, considered to be a paradise for tourists, the spa district of Teplice, the
hops growing district of Louny, the Litoměřice district with its vineyards and
wine making and, the districts of Most and Chomutov, going through a phase
of reclamation and recultivation after coal mining, offer beautiful cross-country
skiing tracks in the Ore Mountains. Within the support and encouragement
for tourism and the tourist trade, the Gateway to Bohemia Project came into
being, which divides the region into four destination regions: the Lower Poohří,
the Ore Mountains, Bohemian Switzerland and the Czech Central Highlands.
Currently, the region has 14 national cultural sights. The Ústí Region encourages
the development of sports, and a number of Olympic medalists were born and
brought up here. We also encourage the development of cycling, plus we have
the best ice-hockey team nationwide. We also organise the national Olympic
Games of Children and Youth, which will take part in the Ústí Region in January
2016. In 2007, the region hosted participants of the summer Olympic Games

UJEP
During this year’s Mattoni Ústi nad Labem Half Marathon 2015 the category of
runners of the Race for the Cup of the Rector of the University of J. E. Purkyně
in Ústí nad Labem will be announced for the second time. The fastest male and
female runner will take over the award from the Rector of the University of J. E.
Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem and this year they will receive free registration for
one of the races of the RunCzech Running League 2016, or after consultation
with the organizer of the race, for a European race organized by a cooperating
organization. The University is significantly involved in the Ústi nad Labem
Half Marathon. Our 20 professional masseurs will take care of the comfort of
the runners. The students of the Faculty of Art will design a special t-shirts for
the family run.
