The concept
The panotron® solar energy system is designed to use two different energy sources simultaneously to
produce hot water and electricity on the same surface. With the ingenious concept of the energy transfer
system which is integrated into the roof structure and the modular design of the solar energy system, the
installation is extremely versatile and easy to assemble. The panotron® solar energy system opens completely new
application possibilities for each user – particularly where aesthetics is an important factor.
The system
A panotron® solar energy system is assembled from different mechanical and electrical components. It can
be put together in any shape or size as a user-friendly, plug-in assembly system for a solar hybrid system. The
system is quickly assembled directly on the roof, fault-free. The energy transfer system consists of a hollow
aluminium profile containing a water/glycol mixture which acts as the heat transfer medium to take the heat
from the tiles to a hot water tank. The aluminium profile is designed so that the electrical cables are safe and
protected inside.
This ensures power transmission from the energy modules and facilitates data communication with the
control centre. The aluminium profile also acts as a stable sub-structure for the solar roof tiles. It is available in
different lengths and is easily assembled on site using standard tools. This is the ultimate system for using solar
energy from roof tiles and is ideal for both roof renovations and installation on new buildings.

Solar roof tile and energy module
The new solar roof tile is produced by the Rapperswil/Bern brickworks. It has a specially developed shape
because of its dual function. It can support the solar modules which were specially designed for it using a
clip system and it provides radiant heat for the panotron® solar energy system. Different energy modules are
available depending upon the application in order to guarantee appropriate flexibility for the system even
after many years. All energy modules are accessible and are connected to an integrated bus bar via a
waterproof contact system. The energy modules run in parallel with an operating voltage of 48 V DC per solar
roof tile.
What output can you expect?
Each energy module which is made up of monocrystalline solar cells produces a maximum output of 6 watts.
One square meter of tile roofing consists of 12 energy modules which are capable of producing a maximum
output of 72 watts. On the same surface, we also generate thermal energy apart from the energy produced
by the energy module. The amount of power generated by a system is determined by the number of energy
modules installed.

The panotron® solar energy system is marketed by specialized companies which operate in the roofing, sanitary
and electrical industries. The distributor is specially trained and certificated. They can plan, calculate and
