EUROPAEN CREATIVE PROJECT
EUROPEAN CREATIVE PROJECT 2014-‐2020 IDENTITY(IES) HORS CHAMP THE COLLECTIF ART MOUV’/ZONE LIBRE TODAY The Collective Art Mouv’/Zone Libre settled in Bastia associates a dance pole and a numeric pole, managed by Hélène Taddei Lawson, choreographer and Tommy Lawson, sound designer. With an experience of more than 15 years, it goes on building its artistic identity around the multidisciplinarity, meeting the contemporary dance and the numeric arts. Its proposals go from the traditional choreographic creation to more alternative proposals as videos art, performances in situ, multimedia installations, architectural mappings... Questioning endlessly the relationship of the work to the territory, its circulation and its social impact and the relationship of the artist with the audience, the projects of the Collective are situated around universal issues as the link of man to its environment, the quest of identity, the decompartmentalization, the notion of territory. Numerous projects of residences and cultural exchanges in Burkina Faso, Kenya, Togo, Mali, Bolivia, Chile and Cuba also took it to question the position of the artistic creation with the multiculturalism and the place of the individual in our fast-‐changing societies. They contribute to its reflection on the relations between the creation and the diversity, the diversity and the difference, the local and the world. The Corsica Region and the city of Bastia subsidize the Collective in order to meet all sorts of audiences through educational and awareness projects, at the junction of its creative work. Its mission is also to spread its actions on different levels, local, regional, national and international in a permanent circulation of the practices and the works. It organizes with the city of Bastia the Platform Dance festival around themes diversified as the male and the feminine, the heritage and the modernity, which the opportunity of numerous exchanges with artists and companies for ten years. THE CHALLENGES OF THE PROJECT The Collective wishes today to put in perspective its professional, artistic and economic resources by enroling its evolution in a dynamic of opening and exchange. Its wishes to explore new geographical, artistic, cultural territories and new ways of economic and social organization, thanks to the mutualisation of ways and skills. It wishes to build long-‐lasting partnerships around common values of the European Union and beyond, in a democratic space of equality and solidarity. At last, its aims at new modalities of citizenship in front of the complexity of the society, of the development of the multiculturalism and the numeric in the globalization of the exchanges. So many challenges allowing building itself with regard to its identity, inducing a sliding of the central and peripheral look. Deconstructing the old identical plans opens a wide field of perceptions, from oneself, others and the world. A conception in movement, right in the heart of changing societies, a creative vision that the cultural projects, tools of transformation, must contain. Where does the world start and stop for each of us? When does our space of freedom spread on the other’s one? What is the added value of the difference in a democratic society? How to position in front of the globalization of the information and the digital technology? How to generate to the daily life some social justice, some sensitive, and some creativity? How to imply more than to apply? THE IMPLEMENTATION The various stages of the project must be implemented in a dimension at the same time vertical and horizontal around the defined challenges : ↓ The implementation of situations of exploration in every city partner in the form of laboratories will put in synergy the actors of the project around the concepts of danced and sound body and physical and social space. ⇔ Allowing ⇔ ↓ The construction collaborative " of hybrid artistic objects " generating modes of compartmentalization of the practices, the ideas and the sensibilities. This mode of creativity will be inscribed in the perspective of a multicultural model of society, crossroads of different influences. ⇔ By integrating ⇔ ↓ The confrontation of the organic and the numeric, the body and the new technologies as a transverse axis favoring the decompartmentalization and the emergence of new artistic and citizens identities. ⇔ Taking into account ⇔ ↓ The positioning of audiences and not audiences, artists and public merged in a common space. A common space which opens the range of possibilities with innovative modes of meeting beyond the usual cleavages. ⇔ Generating ⇔ ↓ Shifts in meaning and gaps of perception around the representation of the body and the intimacy, of oneself and the other one, to overtake the motionless identical conceptions. At the time of the globalization, where local identities and universalism face each other and where the gaps from development grow bigger, the recognition of new territories instead of terroirs, of plural identities instead of identifications, of opened representations instead of points of view, call the creation and the appropriation of hybrid and polymorphic objects. Filling everyday life the data of the sensitive, implying the citizen and getting involved as a citizen in creative and innovative processes, all that has must bring about the change of our representations of and our relations too with the world. THE CONTENT The project envisages several levels of cooperation over 24 months around “pilot” actions and “satellit” actions. Laboratories will be inspired by local and/or regional themes which can have a national and international dimension. They will give rise to the creation of a multidisciplinary work involving wide audiences concerned by themes appropriate to their territory. Certain phases of the research of the laboratory would take place and would be restored in alternative places (stations, museums, markets, beaches) allowing the citizens to involve, to go to meet the non-‐audiences. The proposals will have to continue on the territory even when the laboratory is over by being reappropriated by the citizens, the places relay, by being presented in other cities of the partner country.. Places, contexts, ways of representation “hors champ” would be to discover and to invest in a permanent circulation between the local and the global and by the social echo of the implementation of the processes of creation. The various artistic installations will also take all their sense by decoding some with regard to the others, in a shape of complementarily.
