RONCALLI legge RONCALLI. Lettere private di Papa Giovanni XXIII
Recital per voce e violoncello
Nell’anno del giubileo della Misericordia, voluto da Papa Francesco, e a poco più di un anno
dalla santificazione di Papa Giovanni XXIII, Guido e Diego Roncalli discendenti della famiglia
Roncalli hanno deciso di celebrare il “Papa buono” con un recital che ripercorra i momenti
salienti della parabola terrena del Santo.
Il Recital è un atto unico composto dalla lettura dei discorsi più noti di Papa Giovanni XXIII e
da lettere inedite, tratte dall'archivio della famiglia di Guido Roncalli, accompagnati dalle
Suite di J. S. Bach per violoncello solo, eseguite dal vivo dal fratello Diego, violoncellista
professionista. Durante il Recital, sullo sfondo dei due interpreti, scorrono immagini
fotografiche inedite di Angelo Roncalli e del cugino Guido, nonno dei due artisti, anch’esse
appartenenti all’archivio della famiglia.
Nel contesto del Giubileo della Misericordia, il Recital rappresenta dunque un’occasione
unica per ricordare e celebrare la figura di San Giovanni XXIII, resa ancora più attuale dal
Pontificato di Papa Francesco, così simile per la vicinanza agli ultimi e per lo spirito
ecumenico a quello di Papa Giovanni. Un modo emozionante, teatrale, unico di ricordare
una delle figure più incisive e più amate del XX secolo. Il Recital è attualmente in tournée; ha
toccato luoghi significativi nella biografia di San Giovanni XXIII come Città del Vaticano,
Roma, Venezia, Loreto, Assisi e le principali città italiane (Milano, Torino, Genova, Verona,
Ancona) ed estere (Sofia, Monte Carlo, Praga, Parigi). Il Recital ha ottenuto il patrocinio della
Presidenza della Repubblica; delle Camere; della Presidenza del Consiglio; del Ministero per i
Beni e le Attività Culturali e di varie istituzioni locali; inoltre, è patrocinato dalla Santa Sede. Il
Recital è stato ospitato nelle trasmissioni RAI “Uno Mattina” e “La vita in diretta” e sulla
Radio Vaticana, e ha ricevuto un'ampia copertura mediatica.

Recitál s hudebním doprovodem violoncella
Ve Svatém roce Božího milosrdenství, jež byl vyhlášen papežem Franceskem, a jen něco málo
rok po svatořečení papeže Jana XXIII, se Guido a Diego Roncalli, potomci rodiny Roncalli,
rozhodli oslavit "dobrého papeže" recitálem, kterým si přejí připomenout důležité momenty
z pozemského života tohoto světce.
Během recitálu budou v podání Guida Roncalliho čteny úryvky z nejznámějších projevů
papeže Jana XXIII. a z nepublikovaných dopisů, uchovaných rodinou Guida Roncalliho. Čtené
slovo hudebně doprovodí jeho bratr Diego, profesionální violoncellista, který přednese suit
od J.S. Bacha pro violoncello. Během recitálu budou na pozadí obou účinkujících promítány
dosud nepublikované fotografie Angela Roncalliho a jeho bratrance, děda obou umělců.
V kontextu Jubilejního roku milosrdenství představuje tento recitál jedinečnou možnost, jak
si osobnost papeže Jana XXIII. připomenout. Jeho odkaz ještě nabyl na aktuálnosti za
pontifikátu papeže Františka, jemu velmi blízkého svou náklonností k chudým a svým
ekumenickým duchem. Tento recitál je dojemným a přitažlivým způsobem, jak oslavit tuto
výjimečnou a milovanou osobnost dvacátého století. Recitál je aktuálně na turné. Vystoupil
v místech, jež se významně zapsala v životě svatého Jana XXIII. Mezi ně patří Vatikán, Řím,
Benátky, Loreto, Assisi a další důležitá italská města (Milán, Turín, Janov, Verona, Ancona) i
zahraniční metropole (Sofia, Monte Carlo, Praha, Paříž). Recitál obdržel patronát prezidenta
Italské republiky; Senátu, italského Ministerstva kultury a dalších italských institucí. Patronát
mu rovněž udělil Svatý stolec. Byl rovněž hostem ranního vysílání televizní stanice RAI "Uno
Mattina" a "La vita in diretta" a radia Radio Vaticano a těší se široké mediální podpoře.

Recital per voice and cello
In the year of the extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, wanted by Pope Francis, and after Pope
John XXIII´s recent sanctification, Guido and Diego Roncalli, discendents of the Roncalli´s
family, have decided to celebrate the “Good Pope” with a recital that goes through all the
highlights of the earthly parable of the Saint.
The Recital is a one-piece act, based on the lecture of the most renowned speeches of Pope
John XXIII and some of his unpublished letters, taken from Guido Roncalli family´s archive.
The lecture will be accompanied by J. S. Bach Suites for solo cello, performed live by Guido
Roncalli´s brother, Diego, professional cellist. During the Recital, on the background some
images will be shown, namely unpublished photos of Angelo Roncalli and his cousin Guido,
grandfather of the two performers, that belong to the same family archive.
Within the context of the Jubilee of Mercy, the Recital represents therefore a unique
occasion for recalling and celebrating the role of Saint John XXIII, nowadays even more
actual thanks to the papacy of Francis I, so similar to pope John for the closeness to the last
ones and the ecumenical spirit.
A moving, theatrical, unique way to remember one of the most powerful and beloved
characters of the XX century. The Recital is currently on tour and has already covered
meaningful places of Saint John XXIII’s biography such as the Vatican City and Rome, as well
as Venice, Loreto, Assisi, some of the main Italian cities, like Milan, Turin, Genoa, Verona,
Ancona and abroad, Sofia, Monte Carlo and Paris. In next coming weeks it will be performed
in Prague. The Recital has been held under the patronage of the Presidency of the Italian
Republic, the two Chambers, the Presidency of the Council, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage,
Activities and Tourism and several Italian local institutions as well as of the Holy See. The
event has been hosted in the RAI broadcasts “Uno Mattina” and “La vita in diretta” and on
Radio Vaticana, receiving a wide media coverage.
