Rallye Český Krumlov returns to the usual date
The Czech rally championship starts in late April with Rally Šumava in Klatovy, but the organizers of
the second rally of the season have started their prep work already. 43rd Rallye Český Krumlov is to
take place from 22nd to 23rd April and in 2015 season it is the only Czech rally included in FIA
European Rally Trophy with coefficient 3.
While some of the Czech-based organizers decided to give up the European status, ÚAMK
Automotoklub Rallye Český Krumlov and ČK motosport team opted to be a part of the oftencriticized calendar once again.
„We know we will have to split the start list into two what will bring some organizational
difficulties, but considering the attractivity of region of the Southern Bohemia and international
fame of the city centre we decided to keep the European status. The European Trophy is the world’s
third biggest competition. I hope it will help us to attract some foreign teams to Český Krumlov,“
says the rally director Luboš Šalát.
Dalibor Carda, the Mayor of Český Krumlov, is happy with the organizers’ decision: „I am happy that
our city is known not only for culture and tourism, but also for international motorsport.The
traditions continue and I personály look forvard very much to the 43rd edition of the rally,“ adds
the mayor of one of the UNESCO citites.
The usually large number of participants will set themselves on the track in a few groups. Despite the
fact that the teams from the „European“ and „domestic“ group will have thein own charts, the
organizers will award the fastest driver of the Rallye Český Krumlov regardless the championship. The
fans can look forward to Historic Rally, Rally Legend Show, 4th New Energies Rally Český Krumlov of
the alternative propulsion cars and the popular races of radio-controlled cars.
This-year Rallye Český Krumlov uses the well-proven concept. The drivers can look forward to
fourteen SS of overall length of 170 km. There are only minor changes to well-known tests. The
biggest modification is adding an attractive part to famous Malonty test. The background will be
situated in the Exhibition area of České Budějovice again. The pinnacle will be Saturday tests on skislopes of Lipno, which are nowaydays under 50 centimeters of snow. The prize-giving ceremony will
be located at final ramp in Český Krumlov as usual.
