in Mariánské Lázně. I am sure that this year´s festival will be true to its
tradition and will become a survey of excellent musical creations, performed by artists from our country as well as from abroad. It is my wish

summer time in Mariánské Lázně will prove to be encouragement and
inspiration in the following weeks and months of ordinary human cares.

Západočeský symfonický orchestr Mariánské Lázně patří k nejstarším
symfonickým orchestrům v Čechách. Nepřetržitě koncertuje od roku 1821.
Během 19. století se z původní několikačlenné kapely rozrostl ve velký sezónní orchestr, který dokáže interpretovat stěžejní symfonická díla. Od roku 1954
tento orchestr působí celoročně, pravidelně pořádá symfonické, lázeňské
i kolonádní koncerty. Každoročně se účastní hudebních festivalů a často vystupuje v zahraničí.
West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Mariánské Lázně is one of the oldest
orchestras in the Czech republic. It has been performing continually since
1821. During the 19th century it changed from being a small chamber group
into a large, seasonal orchestra, capable of performing masterpieces of the
orchestral repertoir. Since 1954 the orchestra has performed all year round,
regularly giving symphony, spa and colonnade concerts. Every year it participates in Czech music Festivals, as well as performing abroad.
Westböhmisches Sinfonieorchester Marienbad gehört zu den ältesten sinfonischen Orchestern in Böhmen und existiert seit dem Jahre 1821. Während
des 19. Jahrhunderts wuchs aus der ursprünglich mehrgliedrigen Kapelle ein
grosses saisonalles sinfonisches Orchester, das fähig war, die wichtigen sinfonischen Werke aufzuführen. Seit dem Jahre 1954 spielt dieses Orchester
das ganze Jahr über. Es organisiert regelmässig sinfonische, Kur-und
Kolonnadekonzerte. Es nimmt an tschechischen Musikfestivals teil und gastiert
oft im Ausland.

Martin Kasík (1976) je označován za nejvýraznějšího českého klavíristu mladší
generace. Zvítězil v prestižních mezinárodních soutěžích (Pražské Jaro, Young
concert Artists v New Yorku), což mu umožnilo vstup na světová pódia (Carnegie
hall v New Yorku, Wigmore hall v Londýně, Suntory hall v Tokiu, sál Berlínské
filharmonie aj.) a hostování u orchestrů (Chicago symphony, Minnesota symphony, DSO Berlin, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Tonhalle Zürich, Česká filharmonie).
Jeho hra vyniká emocionální intenzitou, výrazným smyslem pro barvu a fantazií.
Martin Kasík (1976) is known as the most conspicuous pianist of the Czech
younger generation. He is a winner of various prestigious international competitions (Prague Spring, Young concert Artists in New York) that led to his
subsequent accomplishments on the world stages of the Carnegie Hall in New
York, Wigmore Hall in London, Suntory Hall in Tokio, Berlin Philharmony
Hall and more where he played as the guest virtuoso of the Chicago Symphony
Orchestra, the Minnesota Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin DSO, the
Stuttgartner Philharmoniker, the Tonhalle Zürich and the Czech Philharmonic
orchestra. His play is reknowned for its emotional intensity with the strong
sense of tone and fantasy.
Martin Kasík (1976) wird als der bedeutendste tschechische Klavierspieler
der jüngeren Generation bezeichnet. Er gewann die internationalen
Prestigewettbewerbe (Prager Frühling, Young Concert Artists in New York),
was ihm den Zugang zu den Weltbühnen (Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore
Hall in London, Suntory Hall in Tokio, Saal der Berliner Philharmoniker u.a.)
ermöglichte, Gastauftritte mit Orchestern (Chicago Symphony, Minnesota
Symphony, DSO Berlin, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Tonhalle Zürich,
Tschechische Philharmonie). Sein Spiel ist durch hohe emotionelle Intensität,
starken Sinn für Farbe und Phantasie geprägt.

Alfonso Scarano započal svou dirigentskou kariéru trojím vítězstvím v mezinárodních dirigentských soutěžích v Trevisu, Římě a Orvietu. Od té doby
spolupracoval s řadou zejména italských a českých orchestrů (např. Orchestra
Milano Classica, Filarmonia Veneta, SOČR, Virtuosi di Praga) a v současnosti je
hlavním hostujícím dirigentem Severočeské filharmonie Teplice. Hodně se věnuje řízení opery a baletu, v letech 2006-8 stál v čele operního festivalu v italské
Toscaně. Pod jeho taktovkou hráli takoví umělci jako jsou Alexander Toradze či
Anna Kravtchenko.
Alfonso Scarano began his conducting career with triple victories in the international conducting competitions of Treviso, Rome and Orvieto. Since then
he cooperated with many orchestras especially Italian and Czech orchestras
(Orchestra Milano Classica, Filharmonia Veneta, SOČR, Virtuosi di Praga). He
is currently the primary guest conductor of Nord Bohemian Philharmonie of
Teplice. He devotes a lot of his attention to opera and ballet and between 2006 2008 he was the head of the opera festival in Italian Toscana. Well known artists
such as Alexander Toradze and Anna Kravtchenko have performed under his
conducting.

Alfonso Scarano begann seine Karriere als Dirigent mit einem dreifachen Sieg
in den internationalen Wettbewerben in Treviso, Rom und Orvieto. Seit dieser
Zeit arbeitet er mit einer ganzen Reihe italienischer und tschechischer Orchester
(z. B. Orchestra Milano Classica, Filarmonia Veneta, Staatliches Orchester des
Tschechischen Rundfunks, Virtuosi di Praga) zusammen und zurzeit ist er gastierender Hauptdirigent bei der Nordböhmischen Philharmonie in Teplice. Er widmet
sich vorrangig Opern- und Ballettaufführungen, in den Jahren 2006-2008 leitete er
das Opernfestival in der Toscana. Unter seinen Taktstock spielten solche Künstler
wie Alexander Toradze oder Anna Kravtchenko.
Petr Nouzovský (1982) se řadí k nejlepším českým violoncellistům. Je držitelem
ocenění „New Master on Tour 2007“, Europäische Förderpreis für Musik 2007
a laureát soutěže Val Tidone 2011. Studoval v Praze, Drážďanech a Madridu.
Natočil již 12 CD a každoročně absolvuje přes 100 koncertů (Moskva, Petrohrad,
Bolzano, Istanbul, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires). Hraje na violoncello Jean
Baptiste Vuillaume 1835.

Petr Nouzovský (1982) gehört zu den besten tschechischen Violoncellospielern.
Ihm wurde die Bewertung „New Master on Tour 2007“, des Europäischen
Förderpreises für Musik 2007 zuteil und er ist Laureat des Wettbewerbs Val
Tidone 2011. Er studierte in Prag, Dresden und Madrid. Er spielte bereits zwölf
CDs ein und jedes Jahr absolviert er über 100 Konzerte (Moskau, Petersburg,
Bolzano, Istanbul, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires). Er spielt ein Violoncello von
Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume (1835).

Peter Donohoe je britský pianista světového formátu. Vítězství na slavné
Čajkovského soutěži v Moskvě v roce 1982 jej vyneslo na přední světová
pódia. Spolupracoval např. s Berlínskou filharmonií, Gewandhaus Orchester,
Chicago, Boston a Cleveland Symphony Orchestra pod taktovkami Simona
Rattla, Daniela Hardinga, Lorina Maazela a mnohých dalších. Repertoár
tohoto klavíristy je neobyčejně široký, jen klavírních koncertů zahrnuje asi
160. Jeho hra je ceněna pro výraznou muzikálnost, stylovou mnohostrannost
a mimořádnou techniku. Peter Donohoe je od roku 2010 nositelem Řádu
britského impéria za zásluhy v oblasti hudby.
Peter Donohoe is a world-class British pianist. His win in the famous
Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow in1982 thrust him onto the world stage.
His acclaim has seen him cooperate with the Berlin Phiharmony, Gewandhaus
Orchestra, Chicago, Boston and Cleveland Symphony Orchestras under the
conducting of Simon Rattle, Lorin Maazel and many others. Peter’s repertoire
is exceptionally wide as witnessed in his160 piano concerts. His play is highly
regarded for its distinct musicality, multilateral style and his oustanding technique. In 2010 Peter Donohoe was given the Order of British Empire for merit
in the field of music.

berühmten Tschaikowski-Wettbewerb 1982 in Moskau öffnete ihm den Weg

Pierre Reach was the winner of prestigious competitions such as the

Eri Goto (1985) potvrdila svůj výrazný talent vítězstvím na Chopinově soutěži
v Mariánských Lázních a Smetanově soutěži v Plzni. Přes své mládí má již
za sebou četné zkušenosti z koncertních pódií v Japonsku a Evropě (Rusko,
Německo, Francie, Itálie). Absolvovala Pražskou konzervatoř (prof. Michal
Rezek) a v současné době je studentkou Akademie múzických umění v Praze
ve třídě prof. Ivana Klánského.
Eri Gotto (1985) displayed her considerable talents by winning the Chopin
competition in Mariánské Lázně and the Smetana competition in Plzeň.
Despite her youth she has already showcased her great talents on numerous
concert stages in Japan and Europe (Russia, Germany, France, Italy). She
graduated from the Conservatory of Prague (under Prof.Michal Rezek) and at
present is a student of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class
of Prof.Ivan Klánský.

Český komorní orchestr má velmi bohatou historii. Byl vytvořen v roce 1946
Václavem Talichem z vybraných studentů Pražské konzervatoře a nově založené
Akademie múzických umění v Praze. Svým precizním přístupem ke studiu
a vysokou uměleckou úrovní se stal legendou českého poválečného hudebního
života. V roce 1958 převzal uměleckou štafetu Josef Vlach a vedl orchestr
až do své smrti v roce 1988. V posledním desetiletí vystupuje pod vedením
Ondřeje Kukala a Andrease Weisera. ČKO proslul zejména interpretací českého
repertoáru a děl W.A. Mozarta.
The Czech Chamber Orchestra has a very rich history. It was created in 1946
by Václav Talich with selected students of the Prague Conservatory and the new
founded Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. His precise attitude to study
and his high artistic quality made him a legend of Czech post-war musical life.
In1958 he took over the artistic lead of Josef Vlach and led the orchestra until
his death in 1988. In the last decade the orchestra has performed under the conducting of Ondřej Kukal and Andreas Weiser. The CCO became famous for its
interpretation of the Czech repertoire of W.A.Mozart.

Das Tschechische Kammerorchester kann auf eine lange Geschichte zurückblicken. Es wurde im 1946 von Václav Talich gegründet, die Mitglieder waren
ausgewählte Studenten des Prager Konservatoriums und der neu gegründeten Musikakademie in Prag. Dank seiner präzisen Auffassung zum Studium
und dank seinem hohen künstlerischen Niveau wurde es zur Legende des
tschechischen Musiklebens in der Nachkriegszeit. 1958 übernahm Josef Vlach
die künstlerische Stafette und leitete dieses Orchester bis zu seinem Tod 1988.
In den letzten Jahrzehnten tritt es unter den Taktstock von Ondřej Kukal und
Andreas Weiser auf. Das Tschechische Kammerorchester wurde vor allem durch
die Interpretation tschechischer Musikwerke und Werken von Mozart berühmt.
Massimo Mercelli studoval u slavných flétnistů André Jauneta a Maxence
Larrieua. Již v 19-ti letech se stal prvním flétnistou Teatro La Fenice
v Benátkách. Jeho hudební mistrovství mu brzy otevřelo cestu na světová
pódia – Carnegie hall v New Yorku, sál Berlínské filharmonie, Mozarteum
v Salzburku, Teatro Colón v Buenos aires aj. Vystupuje s předními orchestry
(Wiener symphoniker, Pražská komorní filharmonie) a sólisty (Yuri Bashmet,
Jean-Pierre Rampal). Je zakladatelem a hudebním ředitelem festivalu Emilia
Romagna.

Maxence Laurrie. At the age of just 19 he became the principal flautist of the
Teatro La Fenice in Venice. His musical mastery soon took him on a journey of
world stages including, Carnegie Hall in New York, Berlin Philharmony Hall,
Mozarteum in Salzburg, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and others. He also
performs with various prominent orchestras (Wiener Symphoniker, Praguer
Chamber Philharmony) and soloists (Yuri Bashmet, Jean- Pierre Rampal). He
is also a founder and musical manager of the festival Emilia Romagna.

Ivan Klánský je vedoucí osobností české klavírní scény. V letech 196770 se stal laureátem mezinárodních klavírních soutěží v Bolzanu, Neapoli,
Lipsku, Barceloně a Varšavě. Za svou kariéru odehrál více než 5000 koncertů
na světových pódiích, a to jako sólista i jako člen proslulého Guarneri tria.
Jeho hra se vyznačuje tónovou vytříbeností, noblesou a dokonalým zvládnutím
hudební struktury. Pedagogicky působí na AMU v Praze . Je předsedou četných
mezinárodních soutěží.
Ivan Klánský is a leading Czech piano virtuoso. Between 1967 - 1970 he
became widely acclaimed for his performances in international competitions
in Bozen, Naples, Leipzig, Barcelona and Warsaw. His career spans more
than 5000 concerts on world stages as both a soloist and as member of famous
Guarneri trio. His play is characterized by tonal refinement, his gentle touch
and his mastery of musical structure. He is currently a teacher at the AMU /
Academy of Performing Arts/ in Prague. He is also the chairman of many
international competitions.

Jahren 1967-70 war er Laureat der internationalen Klavierwettbewerbe in

spielte er auf mehr als 5000 Konzerten auf zahlreichen Bühnen der Welt, und
zwar als Solist und wie auch als Mitglied des berühmten Guarneri Trios. Sein
Spiel zeichnet sich durch Tonfinesse, Noblesse und hervorragende Meisterung
der Musikstruktur aus. Als Pädagoge ist er an der Musikakademie in Prag . Er
ist Vorsitzender vieler internationaler Wettbewerbe.

Lukáš Klánský (1989) se začal věnovat hře na klavír od svých pěti let a ihned
začal vítězit na klavírních soutěžích. Mezi jeho největší úspěchy na tomto poli
patří 1. ceny z mezinárodních soutěží ve Vresse (Belgie) a Agropoli (Itálie)
a v Hradci nad Moravicí. Absolutní vítězství si také dvakrát přivezl ze Soutěžní
přehlídky českých konzervatoří. Jako sólista vystoupil s řadou českých orchestrů a intenzivně se věnuje komorní hudbě.
Lukáš Klánský (1989) began to devote his time to the piano from the age
of 5 and quickly began to win piano competitions. Amongst his biggest successes are the 1st prizes from international competitions in Vresse (Belgium),
Agropoli (Italy) and in Hradec nad Moravicí CZ. He has also twice taken
absolute victory in the Competition Exhibition of Czech Conservatories. He
has performed as a soloist with a variety of Czech orchestras and is intensively
devoted to chamber music.

Er war auch zweimal der absolute Sieger im Wettbewerb der tschechischen

Claudio Piastra je rodák z Parmy, kde také absolvoval konzervatoř ve třídě
Renzo Cabassiho a Enrica Tagliaviniho, vzdělání si doplnil u Abela Carlevara.
Koncertní dráhu nastoupil ve svých 14-ti letech, vystupuje nejen na recitálech,
ale i s orchestry (Petrohradská filharmonie, Arturo Toscanini orchestra)
a intenzívně se věnuje hře v duu s Ilyou Grubertem. Nahrává pro rozhlasové
a televizní stanice (ORF, RTL, All India, RTP, Montreal TV), zasedá v porotách
mezinárodních soutěží a pořádá mistrovské kurzy.

ve Varšavě v rodině hudebníků. Vystudovala Akademii Fryderyka Chopina
ve Varšavě ve třídě prof. Manasterské a v roce 2007 s vyznamenáním ukončila Vysokou hudební školu v Lucernu u prof. Ivana Klánského. Je laureátkou
četných klavírních soutěží, mimo jiné Mezinárodní klavírní soutěže F.Chopina
v Mariánských Lázních nebo soutěže „Beethovenův Hradec.“
Maria Gabryś, extraordinary young Polish pianist, was born in Warsaw
in music family. She studied at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in
Warsaw with prof. Manasterska as well as at University of Music in Luzern
in the class of prof. Ivan Klánský. She is prizewinner of many competitions,
including F.Chopin competition in Marienbad and L.v. Beethoven competition
in Hradec nad Moravicí.
Maria Gabryś, eine ausgezeichnete polnische Pianistin der jungen Generation,
wurde in Warschau in einer Musikerfamilie geboren. Sie studierte an der
Frederic Chopin-Akademie in Waschau bei Prof. Manasterska und an der
Luzerner Musikhochschule bei Prof. Ivan Klánský. Sie ist Preisträgerin vieler
Wettbewerbe, so unter anderen des Internationalen Chopin-Wettbewerbs in

se představil mj. ve Spojených státech, Brazílii, Singapuru, Francii, Itálii,
Švýcarsku a také v České Republice. Pod jeho taktovkou hrály takové osobnosti, jako jsou Itzhak Perlman, Gyorgy Sandor či Alexander Markov. Je držitelem
ocenění pro nejlepšího mexického dirigenta roku (1991) a ceny latinskoamerické kritiky „Gaviota“ (2004).

besten Dirigenten des Jahres (1991) und des Preises der lateinamerikanischen

Dominik Petr (1975), se jménem tohoto výtvarníka se v posledních přibližně 10 letech setkáváme zejména v oblasti fantastiky. Od roku 2010 spolupracuje s pražskou Galerií Nemesis, která zastupuje přední české a slovenské umělce specializující se na žánr fantasy, sci-fi a dobrodružné náměty
(účast na výstavách, zařazení v katalogu Galerie Nemesis a unikátní sérii
sběratelských kartiček „Masters of Czech and Slovak Fantasy, Sci-fi and
Adventure“). Jako ilustrátor spolupracuje s nakladatelstvím Laser-books,
Triton, Books and Cards, Epika, Mladá fronta, s časopisy Ikarie, Pevnost,
XB-1 a s českou edicí amerického magazínu - The Magazine of Fantasy &
Science Fiction. Ilustrační styl Dominika Petra lze charakterizovat jako osobitý se zvláštním smyslem pro vystižení tématu. Své ilustrace tvoří s lehkostí,
invencí, jež vdechuje dílu neobyčejnou atmosféru. Dominik Petr často zpracovává myšlenkově náročnější texty, bývá označován jako ilustrátor filozof.
Svými kresbami si získal uznání od mnoha zahraničních autorů fantastické
literatury. Pracuje kombinovanou technikou, v níž dominantní místo zaujímá
kresba. Mnohovrstevnatá kresba tvořená různosměrnými liniemi propojenými
v závěrečné fázi jemnými či razantními tahy štětcem. V kresbách primárně
převládají valéry hnědé, černé, červené a bílá. Z výtvarných technik dále
preferuje malbu akrylovými barvami, ale vzdálena mu není ani olejomalba
a technika akvarelu. Jeho dílo je charakterizováno zajímavými kontrastními, někdy až provokujícími motivy. Dominik Petr se vedle časopiseckých
a knižních ilustrací dále zaměřuje na portréty, identikity (portréty pachatelů
trestných činů podle výpovědi svědků), krajinomalbu a motivy inspirované
hudbou. Méně známým faktem zůstává, že Petr je též autorem celé řady obrazů
vycházejících z oblasti klasické hudby, které v drtivé většině spojuje jediný
nástroj – klavír. Právě tato oblast tvorby Dominika Petra je představena zde.
