Third Thursday events moved to Godfather's It started off with our wonderful Annual Pizza, so Dinner at Baron BMW, we co-hosted two we’ve enjoyed driving events—FlatOut Classic and No pizza with meetings, and sometimes a Excuses 7—and we had a blast at our Annual Picnic. On top of our usual favorite events, we combined some new elements for a fresh spin… We’ve been having the Ultimate fun celebrating the Ultimate Driving Machine, but mostly enjoying time with the members who own them. And we have much more to celebrate. In 1970, the KC BMW Club was chartered, making 2015 our 45th year as a recognized chapter in the BMW CCA. We hosted our usual DIY sessions and even one specifically for the ladies. We added the “I-Spy” game to the Rally Run To Weston and finished at the Avalon Café with great prizes. My favorite was the “Traveling Pig” Trophy at the All-German Car Show—an To our founding members, you have our award for hogging up the most parking sincerest thanks and deepest gratitude. spaces. We’ll win it back next year! Without your vision and dedication, we wouldn’t still be here today. But this dedication, ladies and gentlemen, marks the time when I ask each of you to ask yourselves: “How does the chapter sustain itself? Is the future of our chapter headed on a path of long-term sustainability? Could my expertise be of use to the chapter to encourage the sustainability we need? Am I up to the challenge of chairing an event, or maybe serving on the board to continue our chapter To add some completely new activities, legacy?” If you answered yes to that last we connected with new members at The question, then I absolutely want to hear Roasterie's Cars, Motorcycles & Coffee from you! We had a great opportunity to meet with Melody Matulewic, Marketing Director for Scholfield, at the Second Saturday morning meeting at Mead's Corner in Wichita. We should start seeing more members from the Wichita area, as a 1-year membership to BMW CCA is complimentary with every new BMW purchase. VOLUME 6, ISSUE 4 Baron BMW Goes GENIUS! by Angel Hall The KC BMW Club spent our November Third Thursday event at Baron BMW, where we met Jackson Bohlender, BMW Genius at Baron BMW. What is this BMW Genius program, you ask? Get ready to get schooled… Quite simply, instead of scheduling a service visit, a BMW Genius is the go-to guru to help you with the technology aspects of your BMW. If you’re needing assistance with understanding the amazing array of Apps, BMW Online, BMW Assist, BMW Navigation, or additional technical packages in your amazingly smart BMW, Jackson is ready to help you get the most out of vehicle! The BMW Genius agents are not sales reps. They’re non-commissioned agents designed to assist you with locating the best BMW Product for your needs, and to make recommendations. They follow up with you after the sale to cover any questions or show you how to use the technology in your BMW. They’re a great resource for how to update settings, and how to adjust and save favorite settings into your vehicle, as well as help you learn some of the more advanced features of your car. If there’s a feature that Jackson doesn’t know, the Genius Team has a resource directly from BMW that they can reference to get you the right answers KCBMWCLUB.COM! ! ! ! ! quickly. Sales manager Eric Frischer came down to chat with us, and we learned about many different technology packages available on the new line of BMW’s. It was surprising how some were “À la carte” features, standard features, and how many have additional apps for smartphones. Eric and Jackson shared about new features, such as the Parking Assistance, where the car will literally park itself for you utilizing the cameras on the vehicle. Even the car keys are getting more sophisticated with additional displays about the car’s charge status and more. As the safety and technology innovations improve, BMW Geniuses like Jackson Bohlender will be there to help you maximize the benefits from the latest BMW Technology. ! ! ! ! ! VOLUME 6, ISSUE 4 All-German Kansas City Car Show by Pablo Mazlumian Each year in the fall, German car lovers from all over Kansas City gather for one big meet before the weather takes a dump (of snow). The event is usually represented by local chapters of the BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and Audi national car clubs. Members and non-members alike showcase their waxed, rolling pride-and-joys one last time before bringing out the daily winter thrashers. KC BMW Club members brought out a variety of bimmers ranging from a single 1Series to a plethora of 3-Series of different generations to a nice selection of 5- and 6Series to a solo 8-Series. This event is one of the most relaxed car meets of the year, and these are a few of the BMW highlights from this year’s event… KCBMWCLUB.COM! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! PAGE 8 KCBMW MILEPOST! !
