Free, prior and informed consent in the Czech Republic
Free, prior and informed consent for the nomination of the cultural element Falconry towards the
inscription in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity UNESCO,
was repeatedly given by the falconry community unanimously in all stages and at the annual
meetings of the Czech Falconry Club and there are written records about it. The Club is the only
body representing falconers in the Czech Republic, therefore the annual general meeting is the
highest body of the whole community at the same time. The qualified 100% majority voted for the
consent during annual meeting in Opocno on 7th of February 2009. Within falconry community in
the Czech Republic there is no reason for refusal of the nomination. In addition, signatures of active
falconers have been collected.
