take it out on special occasions. Or whether you love the mountains or
prefer to ride on flat terrain. What unfolds before you is a diverse landscape that will immediately enchant you. While the region surrounding
the Elbe River (home of the well-known Labská route) is a primarily flat
area, the Eagle mountains and foothills and the Králický Sněžník area are,
on the other hand, a lure for mountain lovers. And, of course, the area
includes such cycling treats as single tracks and pump tracks.
In addition to beautiful landscapes, the region not only boasts an interesting history and fascinating technical monuments, but also kind,
hospitable, and open-hearted people.
Its crown jewel is horses, not only because it is home to one of the most
famous horse races in the world, the Velká Pardubická steeplechase, but
also because of the Old Kladruber horses breeding programme, as well
as the volumes of equestrian trails. Here, the old saying still rings true:

Chrudimsko-Hlinecko
Are you looking for tips for an attractive holiday full of exciting experiences? Then come
and discover the Chrudimsko – Hlinecko region! You will find historical monuments, the
gorgeous natural scenery of the Železné hory Mountains and Ždárské vrchy Hills, as well
as a wealth of cultural and sports activities.
We recommend cyclists choose the Seč Reservoir as the departure point. It is nestled
in a picturesque landscape with preserved rock formations, streams, and deep forests
that are webbed with countless hiking, cycling, and equestrian routes and trails. The
lake offers a range of swimming, diving, fishing, surfing, and yachting options. Another
advantage is the area‘s broad range of accommodation options.
You should also definitely visit the Lichnice Castle ruins, the “Muzeum vápenictví“ lime
industry museum in Třemošice, or the “Muzeum Keltů“ Celtic museum with its Celtic trail
and lookout tower in Nasavrky. The old-growth Polom forest near Horní Bradlo is also
of interest.
The city of Chrudim is worthy of attention as well. Its historical centre hosts a range
of cultural events in the summer season. Also worth visiting are the Chrudim Puppetry
Museum, the Regionalní muzeum (Regional Museum) with an exposition on Alfons Mucha, the grand Muzeum barokních soch (Museum of Barque Statues), and the Church of
the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. You can also visit the nearby Rekreační lesy Podhůra
recreational forests with their unique lookout tower, Bára, a rope course park, and a cycling park.
The city of Slatiňany with its renowned stud farm and expansive pastures lies not far from
the regional forests. Visit the chateau there to experience the equestrian museum as well
as its classic expositions.
Young cyclists will be captivated by the Kočičí hrádek (Cats‘ Castle) and the recently-opened Interaktivni muzeum starokladrubského koně (Old Kladruber Horse Interactive Museum) in nearby Švýcárna.
In Hlinsko you can tour the local museum, gallery, or the Betlém cultural reserve, as well
as the nearby Veselý Kopec “Muzeum v přírodě“ (“Museum in Nature“).
Luže is home to the grand pilgrimage Church of Our Lady of Help, as well as Košumberk
Castle. Shoemaking and stonework have their own museums in Skuteč. Heřmanův Městec, on the other hand, sets itself apart for its very well-restored Jewish monuments.
