Ethical Code
Members of the Foundation, employees, external supporters and donors show loyalty
to the establishers of the Foundation as well as its own tradition. They always act conscious
of their responsibility for the overall image of the Foundation, and the non-governmental,
non-profitable sector, which the OHF is a part of. They deliver a high quality job and take care
of a positive reputation of the OHF. They act in a way which ensures avoiding conflict of
interests or self-enrichment at the expense of the Foundation.
The Foundation uses its own resources for generally beneficial purposes it has been
established for. It minimizes the expenses of its own administration, and handles the budget
in such a way that it remains a stable and if possible growing source of further income.
The Foundation makes available its basic documents to the public. Information about
all its activities is published in annual reports which cover also the financial report,
list of gifts and donors together with the Foundation´s grants.
The Foundation strives to define its mission, goals, and programs clearly and comprehensibly. It ensures that the funding is provided upon a clear set of rules which are published
in advance in the annual reports and the Foundation´s website: www.vdv.cz.
The Foundation deals with applicants and receivers of the grants and services helpfully
and openly. It informs them dispassionately about the fact that they have no lawful right
to receive a grant. The Foundation respects the protection of personal data of the applicants.
It also protects the intellectual property contained in applicant’s projects.
The Foundation keeps donors and sponsors informed about acceptance of their gifts
and what purposes they were used for. Gifts provided for specific purposes must be used
in accordance with the donor´s instructions or contracts. The Foundation respects the will
and wishes of donors and testators. In case of need, employees will make it clear with the
donors and their families whether, and in what form, the information about
the donors´ gifts will be published in the Annual Report.
The Foundation promotes its activities in a moderate way, while respecting the dignity
of its donors and receivers of the Foundation´s grants.

A Word from Chair of the Board of Trustees
Dear friends,
Once again we would like to share with you the annual description of the
Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation work, this time covering year
2013.
Let me get a little personal here. I am often under the impression that we get
absorbed by the current acceptance of the ongoing presence which brings up
doubts and hopes about the future. That is the reason why I would like to
share with you my joy and appreciation for the continuity and “good practice”
of the OHF community, the way it was originally established by Olga Havel.
You will surely notice in our report how her message has survived in today´s
society, how not only the youth intuitively seeks for role models in altruism
and common responsibility for selfintegrity and integrity of the the whole
society. I thank all the resourceful and devoted colleagues in the Committee
of Good Will, and prudent managers of the Olga Havel Foundation. I thank all
of you who spread the good will, and to Olga Havel, who still accompanies us
through our worries and hopes. To the final note, for joy and encouragement,
I will add a quote from Mother Teresa, which would also be appreciated by
practical and proactive Olga: “We should not be pushing ourselves into
achieving great things. It is enough to do little things, but with great love.”
And I dare to add – and with perseverence.
Yours,
Dana Němcová.

This form of decision making represents a functioning
tool to introduce charity and social help to children;
Marie Ředinová, chair of the Czech ILCO – for her work
on making lives of Czech stomics of a better quality;
Pavla Tichá, head of the Amelie Company – for
a voluntary project aimed to mentally support people with oncology illness;
Heřman Volf, an amateur athlete and traveler,
on a wheelchair – for the “Cesta za snem” (Journey
to a Dream) project, which raised enough money to
make dreams come true for tens of disabled children.
In 2013, the project expenses amounted to 376,000 Kč.

The Olga Havel Year
Good News Magazine
Year 2013 was the Olga Havel Year,
devoted to the memory of Olga
and her 80th birthday anniversary.
The electronic magazine has been distributed since 2009. It is published four
times a year, and each issue deals with
different main topic.
In cooperation with the Václav Havel Library, Olga Havel Gymnasium, civic association
PANT, self-supporting Hrobka Library Nový
Brak, Theatre Na Zábradlí, and more partners and friends of Olga, the Foundation
organized various kinds of events to
commemorate Olga Havel throughout the
year. The Olga Havel Year is to continue
in 2014, when the “OLGA” documentary
directed by Miroslav Janek is expected to be
released to the movie theatres.
In 2013, the Foundation also promoted its
long-term projects. The Olga Havel Award
2013 did, as usually, meet with great interest from media and the Foundation continued its cooperation with the Czech Radio,
Medical Tribune, Internal Medicine for
Praxis, Economia, Newton Media,
TV Metropol, the Glanc magazine, etc.
The Foundation promoted its activities by
the Good News magazine, electronic bulletin for athletes News for the Runners
of Good Will, and the websites
~ www.vdv.cz
This year the Foundation put an extra
effort into improving communication with
its donors: the Foundation´s Friends Club
was established, and a new tradition was
launched - meetings called Tea at Five,
where donors, members of the Foundation
Management Board, and other supporters
are invited.
PR and Communication Manager: Monika Granja
The first issue of the year (published on 5th
March) was dedicated to the memory of Olga
Havel, and the Olga Havel Year. The main
topic of the second issue (published on 13th
May) was the Olga Havel Award ceremony.
The third issue (published on 12th August)
included a summary of events organized
on the occasion of the Olga Havel Year. The
fourth issue (published on 12th December)
was based on the evaluation of the year 2013.
The magazine´s design was inovated in 2013
by a graphic designer Pavel Cindr.

INDEPENDENT AUDITOR´S REPORT OF THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
of the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation for the year 2013
Auditor´s Message
Company ID: 004 06 066, Senovážné nám. 2, 110 00 Prague 1, Czech Republic
Recipient: Board of directors and supervisory board of the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation
We have audited the accompanying financial statements: balance sheet, income statement, and attachments of the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation dated 31st December 2013, which
contains a description of significant accounting policies and other explanatory information.
The compilation and faithful presentation of financial statements are the responsibility of the foundation´s board of directors of the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation. It is the duty of the
foundation´s management to propose, implement, and provide for internal controls over the compilation
of the financial statements and the faithful depiction of the facts in such a manner so that they do not
contain any significant inaccuracies (errors or fraudulent information), to choose and implement suitable
accounting standards, and to perform accounting estimates appropriate to the given situation.
Out task is to perform an audit that will form the basis for issuing a statement on these financial statements. We perform the audit in accordance with international auditing standards and application-related
clauses of the Chamber of Auditors of the Czech Republic. These standards require the auditor to plan
and perform the audit in such a manner as to reasonably ensure the accuracy of the financial statements
without any significant inaccuracies.
The audit includes a verification of selected information documenting the amounts and facts contained
in the financial statements. The auditor is responsible for the selection process and risk evaluation of
significant (material) inaccuracies of data included in the audit caused by fraud or errors. During the
process, the auditor evaluates relevant internal controlling systems for creating a fully accurate audit.
Reason for the evaluation process is to suggest proper auditor´s proceedings, but not to issue the effectiveness of the internal controlling system of accounting. Audit also includes evaluation of appropriate
usage of accounting methods and estimates.
In our opinion, the audit performed provides a reasonable basis for the auditor´s statement given below.
In our opinion, the annual financial statements in accordance with the accounting act and other applicable regulations and offer a faithful and honest picture of the state of the assets, liabilities, and finances of
