GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT “HVĚZDA z.ú.”
“HVĚZDA z.ú.” focuses on providing social and health services in a non-profit way and on a
very professional level.
The organization was founded on 6th March 2000 and offers its services in 15 centres at the
moment.
Spreading practical fulfilment of humanistic ideas, intergeneration tolerance, solidarity and civil
coexistence belong among the main missions of the organization.


Non-state health institution, Hospice Care Zlín Centre
The home care is meant for patients who have been released from hospital and are supposed to
undergo their after-treatment and convalescence at home. It can also be meant for long-term ill
people whose state of health does not require stay in a health inpatient department.
The hospice care is provided according to doctor´s instructions and is meant for all age
categories.


Hospice Hvězda Centre is an inpatient health institution providing palliative care (general or
specified) since 2003. The capacity is 14 beds.


Day Care Centre for clients with a mental disability

Day Care Centre for clients with a mental illness
These centres offer programs and activities for clients with a mental, physical or combined
disability, or with a chronic mental illness.

Centre of Providing Services for Family and Household
The service is provided by freelancers. It provides clients with a complex of services teaching
how to deal with common tasks in a client´s own social environment. The client can be a senior
citizen or a person with a handicap.

House for Seniors Centre
This is a registered residential social service called House with a Special Regime and has
capacity of 45 beds. Persons above 27 years suffering from a chronic and mental illness,
Alzheimer´s disease or other types of dementia represent the target group for this centre.

Social Canteen Centre
The social canteen offers lunch and dinner (including diet for diabetics) for elderly people,
physically handicapped people or other socially disadvantaged citizens.

Educational Centre
The aim of the centre is to support long-life education of the civic association staff, to organize
seminars, excurtions and educational stays, to promote hospice palliative care and so on.
“HVĚZDA z.ú.” provides its services 365 days a year and 24 hours a day on a very high and
professional level. This can be proved by several quality certificates which the organization
received as well as by its professional employees (mainly nurses).
