Dvořákův karlovarský podzim
City Triathlon
Hudební festival spojený se jménem českého hudebního
skladatele Antonína Dvořáka se v Karlových Varech konal
již po třiapadesáté. Jeden z koncertů zazněl i ve Slavnostním
sále Grandhotelu Pupp. Byl zde uveden Koncert pro klavír
č. 1 b moll P.I. Čajkovského a Symfonie č. 1 F Dur Zdeňka
Fibicha.
Der City Triathlon ist ein großes Triathlonfest im Zentrum der
schönsten Kurstadt der Tschechischen Republik. Am Wett­
bewerb (Schwimmen – Radfahren - Laufen) nahmen alle
Altersgruppen teil, von den Kindern, zu den Amateuren bis zu
den Profis, die um Punkte für die Teilnahme an den
Olympischen Spielen in London 2012 kämpften. Der Höhe­
punkt war der Europacup, an dem siebzig Männer starteten.
Dvořáks Karlsbader Herbst
Das Musikfestival, das mit dem Namen des tschechischen
Komponisten Antonín Dvořák verbunden ist, fand in Karls­
bad bereits zum dreiundfünfzigsten Mal statt. Eines der
Kon­zerte ertönte auch im Festsaal des Grandhotels Pupp.
Es wurde hier das Klavierkonzert Nr. 1 B-Moll von
P. I. Tschaikowski und die Symphonie Nr. 1 F-Dur von
Zdeněk Fibich aufgeführt.
City Triathlon
City Triathlon is a big triathlon holiday in the centre of the
most beautiful spa town in the Czech Republic. All categories of age from children and amateurs up to professionals,
who fought to get points necessary to take part in the
Olympics in London in 2012, took part in the competition
(swimming-cycling-running). The highlight was the Euro­
pean Cup with seventy men at the starting line.
Dvořák Autumn
A music festival connected with the name of the Czech composer Antonín Dvořák was held in Karlovy Vary for 53rd time. One of the concerts was held in the Festive Hall of the
Grandhotel Pupp. The Concerto for the Piano No. 1 in
b minor by P.I. Tchaikovsky and Symphony Nr. 1 in F major
by Zdeněk Fibich were played here.
Tourfilm
City Triathlon
CityTriathlon je velký triatlonový svátek v centru nejkrásnějšího lázeňského města České republiky. Závodů (plavánícyklistika-běh) se zúčastnily všechny věkové kategorie od
dětí, přes amatéry až po profesionály, kteří bojovali o body
pro účast na olympijských hrách v Londýně 2012.
Vyvrcholením byl Evropský pohár, na jehož start se postavila sedmdesátka mužů.

Letošní festival Tourfilm udělil Grand Prix mexickému filmu
Mexico en tus Sentidos. Hlavní hvězdou 44. ročníku mezinárodního festivalu filmů o cestování byl Bertrand Piccard,
švýcarský psychiatr a vzduchoplavec. Proslavil se tím, že
zvítězil v prvním zaoceánském závodě balónů, kde vytvořil
rekord v nejdelším letu v historii letectví: 45.633 km za
pouhých 19 dní, 21 hodin a 47 minut. Jeho nový projekt
s názvem Solar Impulse spočívá v obletu zeměkoule letadlem poháněným solární energií. Bertrand Piccard pobýval
s manželkou v Grandhotelu Pupp.

des 44. Jahrgangs des internationalen Filmfestivals der
Reiseberichte war Bertrand Piccard, der Schweizer
Psychiater und Luftfahrer. Er wurde dadurch berühmt, dass
er den ersten überseeischen Ballonwettbewerb gewann, wo
er ein Rekord im längsten Flug in der Luftfahrtgeschichte
aufstellte: 45.633 km in bloß 19 Tagen, 21 Stunden und
47 Minuten. Sein neues Projekt mit dem Namen Solar
Impulse besteht in der Erdumkreisung im Flugzeug mit
Solarenergie betrieben. Bertrand Piccard war mit seiner
Ehefrau im Grandhotel Pupp untergebracht.
The Tourfilm
This year’s festival Tourfilm awarded the Grand Prix to the
Mexican film Mexico en tus Sentidos. The main star of the
44th year of the international festival of films about travelling
was Bertrand Piccard, a Swiss psychiatrist and an aeronaut.
He became famous after he had won the first transoceanic
hot-air balloon race where he had created a record in the
longest flight in the history of aviation: 45, 633 km in just
19 days, 21 hours and 47 minutes. The aim of his new project
which is called Solar Impulse is to circle the earth in a solardriven plane. Bertrand Piccard and his wife stayed in the
Grandhotel Pupp.

Visitors to Karlovy Vary felt like in a Bond-film when they
could admire the perfect harmony of design, quality and driving properties of luxury cars directly in front of the
Grandhotel Pupp. The owners of unique Aston Martin and
Jaguar cars arranged their rendezvous here. And there is no
doubt that luxury cars and the Grandhotel Pupp go together.
Auta s velkými možnostmi
Také Škoda Auto přijela představit své vozy právě do
Karlových Varů. Osvědčené modely se na
terase Rendez-vous blýskaly v srpnovém
slunci, ale na veřejnou prezentaci nového
modelu si musíme ještě počkat. Doufáme,
že Grandhotel Pupp bude opět při tom.

Jako v bondovce
Jako v bondovce si připadali návštěvníci Karlových Varů,
když mohli přímo před Grandhotelem Pupp obdivovat
perfektní sladění designu, kvality a jízdních vlastností luxusních automobilů. Setkání si zde dali v říjnu majitelé unikátních vozů Aston Martin a Jaguar. A že luxusní auta Grand­
hotelu Pupp sluší, o tom není pochyb.

Wie im Bond Film kamen sich die Besucher von Karlsbad
vor, als sie direkt vor dem Grandhotel Pupp die vollkommene Abstimmung von Design, Qualität und der Fahre­igen­

Auch die Firma Škoda Auto kam gerade nach Karlsbad, um
ihre Wagen vorzustellen. Die bewährten Modelle glänzten
in der Augustsonne auf der Terrasse von Rendez-vous, aber
auf die öffentliche Vorstellung eines neuen Modells muss
man noch warten. Wir hoffen, dass das Grandhotel Pupp
wieder dabei wird.
Cars with Great Possibilities
The company Škoda Auto, too, came to present its cars to
Karlovy Vary. Time–tested models shone on the terrace of
the Rendez-vous in the August sun, however, we still have
to wait for the public presentation of a new model.
Hopefully the Grandhotel Pupp will be present again.

Podzimní firemní akce
Společenský galavečer pořádalo ve Slavnostním sále
Grandhotelu Pupp sdružení zástupců Allianz Nordost
(Vertretervereinigung der Allianz Nordost e.V.) u příležitosti
svého dvacátého výročí. Pro více než 600 zástupců několika německých obchodních poboček této prestižní pojišťovací značky bylo připraveno slavnostní menu a společenský
program s tancem.
V říjnu proběhl další Mezioborový lékařský kongres Emoce
v medicíně II, který zde každoročně organizuje Česká lékařská akademie ve spolupráci se Sdružením praktických lékařů ČR a Psychiatrickým centrem Praha v rámci systému
celoživotního vzdělávání lékařů. Tématické přednášky si
vy­slechlo na 200 účastníků.
Herbstliche Firmenveranstaltungen
Einen Gesellschaftsgalaabend veranstaltete im Festsaal des
Grand­hotels Pupp die Vertretervereinigung der Allianz Nor­d­
ost e. V. anlässlich ihres zwanzigsten Jubiläums. Für mehr
als 600 Vertreter aus einigen deutschen Handelsfilialen dieser Prestigeversicherungsmarke wurde ein festliches Menü
und ein Gesellschaftsprogramm mit Tanz vorbereitet.
Im Oktober fand ein weiterer zwischenfachlicher Ärzte­kon­
gress Emotionen in der Medizin II statt, den hier alljährlich
die Tschechische Ärzteakademie in der Zusammen­arbeit mit
dem Hausärzteverband Tschechiens und dem Psychiatrischen
Zentrum Prag im Rahmen des Systems der das ganze Leben
betreffenden Ausbildung der Ärzte veranstaltet. Die thematischen Vorträge hörten an die 200 Teilnehmer.
An Autumn Firm Events
The association Allianz Nordost (Vertretervereinigung der
Allianz Nordost e.V.) organized a gala evening in the
Festive Hall of the Grandhotel Pupp on the occasion of its
20th anniversary. A gala menu and a social evening with
dance were prepared for more than 600 representatives of
several German commercial branch offices of this prestigious insurance company.
Another Interdisciplinary Medical Congress called Emotions
in Medicine II was held in October. It is organized by the
Czech Medical Chamber in cooperation with the Association
of General Practitioners of the C.R. and the Psychiatrist
Centre Prague as part of lifelong education of doctors every
year. Theme lectures were listened to by 200 participants.

Úchvatný koncert
David Syme, jeden z velkých pianistů současnosti, koncertoval ve Slavnostním sále Grandhotelu Pupp. Stejně jako publikum na celém světě uchvátil vzruchem a krásou své hry
karlovarské posluchače. Jeho repertoár zahrnuje celou standardní klavírní literaturu od Mozarta přes Brahmse po
Rachmaninova, ale i Gershwin v jeho podání je výjimečný
a nepřekonaný.

David Syme, einer der großen heutigen Pianisten konzertierte im Festsaal des Grandhotels Pupp. Genauso wie das Pu­b­
likum in der ganzen Welt fesselte er die Karlsbader Zuhörer
mit Reiz und Schönheit seines Spiels. Sein Reper­toire beinhaltet die ganze standardmäßige Klavier­literatur von Mozart
über Brahms zu Rachmaninow, aber auch Gershwin in seiner Interpretation ist einmalig und unübertrefflich.
A Fascinating Concert
David Syme, one of the greatest contemporary pianists,
gave a concert in the Festive Hall of the Grandhotel Pupp.
The excitement and beauty of his piano playing electrified
the Karlovy Vary audience in the same way as it does the
audiences in the world. His repertoire includes all standard
piano literature from Mozart and Brahms up to Rachmaninov,
but also his interpretation of Gershwin is exceptional and
unsurpassed.

ROZHOVOR S HISTORIKEM
A PUBLICISTOU
PhDr. Stanislav Burachovič
patří k významným osobnostem Karlovarska. Je historikem Muzea Karlovy Vary.
V oboru regionální historiografie Karlovarska publikoval
více než 50 knižních prací
a přes 1400 článků a studií.
Bude Vás zajímat, že je také
autorem knihy Příběh Grand­
hotelu Pupp. V rámci muzejní praxe spolupracoval na
přípravě mnoha stálých expozic a výstav s regionálními
tématy. Organizoval několik
mezinárodních vědeckých
seminářů, podílel se na přípravě četných dokumentárních filmů a rozhlasových relací v ČR i v zahraničí. Velmi
rozsáhlá je Burachovičova činnost přednášková. O dějinách
Karlových Varů a Karlovarského kraje přednášel německy
a anglicky na četných místech v Německu, Rakousku
a v devadesátých letech také v Japonsku. V roce 1998 bylo
dlouholeté vlastivědné působení Stanislava Burachoviče
oceněno udělením Ceny města Karlovy Vary.
Jak se Vám žije v Karlových Varech?
Karlovy Vary jsou městem kouzelným a považuji za štěstí,
že jsou i mým městem rodným. Žiji zde velmi rád a vážím
si toho, že mi je osud dopřál jako místo mého působení.
Český básník Otokar Březina napsal, že stejně jako květina,
tak i člověk nejlépe působí tam, kde vyrostl.
Máte ve městě své oblíbené místo?
Celé lázeňské centrum Karlových Varů je mým oblíbeným
místem. Na jeho západním okraji jsou dvě krásná lesní zákoutí, kde rád čerpám duchovní osvěžení - je to tzv. Lesní
pobožnost (ráda tu prodlévala rakouská císařovna Alžběta)
a sv. Linhart s tajuplnou ruinou středověkého kostela.

Jaký máte vztah ke Grandhotelu Pupp?
Grandhotel Pupp je krásný a má ducha, je místem, kde se
jakoby zastavila hektika času, a kde si lze báječně odpočinout na těle i na duchu. Velmi silně tu lze vnímat Zlatý věk
Karlových Varů kolem roku 1900 a nostalgickou atmosféru
c.k. rakousko-uherské monarchie. Jako mladík jsem do
Puppu rád chodíval na rozličné maturitní plesy a usiloval
zde, vesměs zoufale a marně, o přízeň sličných dívek. Jako
starší pán jsem o Grandhotelu Pupp napsal sličnou knížku.
Co byste vzkázal našim čtenářům?
Vnímejte, pozorujte a ochutnávejte Karlovy Vary, neboť
jsou městem mimořádným. Poznat je, znamená zamilovat si
je. Určitě se sem budete rádi vracet.

EIN GESPRÄCH MIT DEM
HISTORIKER UND PUBLIZISTEN
PhDr. Stanislav Burachovič gehört zu den bedeutenden
Persönlichkeiten der Karlsbader Region. Er ist als Historiker
im Museum Karlsbad angestellt. Im Bereich der regionalen
Historiografie gab er mehr als 50 Bücher und über 1400
Artikel und Studien heraus. Es wird Sie interessieren, dass er
auch der Autor des Buches: Die Geschichte vom Grand­hotel
Pupp ist. Im Rahmen seiner Beschäftigung im Mu­seum beteiligte er sich an der Vorbereitung von vielen Dauer­aus­
stellungen mit regionaler Thematik. Er organisierte einige
internationale wissenschaftliche Seminare, er beteiligte sich
an zahlreichen Dokumentarfilmen und Rund­funk­sen­dungen

die langjährige heimatkundliche Tätigkeit von Stanislav
Burachovič mit dem Preis der Stadt Karlsbad gewürdigt.
Wie lebt es sich Ihnen in Karlsbad?
Karlsbad ist eine bezaubernde Stadt und ich halte es für

Glück, dass sie auch meine Geburtsstadt ist. Ich lebe hier
sehr gern und ich schätze es, dass es mir das Schicksal als
meinen Wirkungsort gönnte. Der tschechische Dichter
Otokar Březina hat geschrieben, das sowohl die Blume, als
auch der Mensch am besten dort wirkt, wo sie aufwuchsen.
Haben Sie in der Stadt einen Lieblingsort?
Das gesamte Kurzentrum von Karlsbad ist mein Lieblingsort.
An seinem westlichen Rande sind zwei schöne stille Orte
im Wald, wo ich gern seelische Erfrischung schöpfe – es ist
die sog. Waldandacht (diesen Ort suchte die österreichische
Kaiserin Sissi gern auf) und der Hl. Linhart mit der mysteriösen Ruine der mittelalteichen Kirche.
Welche Beziehung haben Sie zum Grandhotel Pupp?
Das Grandhotel Pupp ist schön und hat seine Seele, es ist ein
Ort, wo als ob die Hektik der Zeit stehen blieb und wo man
sich wunderbar körperlich sowie geistig erholen kann. Sehr
stark kann man hier das Goldene Zeitalter von Karls­bad um
das Jahr 1900 und die nostalgische Atmosphäre der k. k. österreichungarischen Monarchie spüren. Als junger Bursche
ging ich gern ins Pupp zu verschiedenen Abi­turien­tenbällen
und bemühte mich hier, allzumal hoffnungslos und vergeblich,
um die Gunst der lieblichen Mädchen. Als älterer Herr habe ich
über das Grandhotel Pupp ein liebliches Buch geschrieben.
Was würden Sie unseren Lesern ausrichten?
Nehmen Sie Karlsbad wahr, beobachten und kosten Sie es,
denn es ist eine außergewöhnliche Stadt. Es kennenzulernen, heißt es lieb gewinnen. Bestimmt werden Sie hierher
gern zurückkehren.

of the Town of Karlovy Vary for his activities relating to
national history and geography in 1998.
How do you like living in Karlovy Vary?
Karlovy Vary is a charming town and I feel happy that it is
my native town too. I like living here very much and I appreciate the fact that I can also work here. The Czech poet
Otokar Březina wrote that like a flower, man made the best
impression there where he had grown.
Have you your favourite place in the town?
The whole spa centre of Karlovy Vary is my favourite place.
There are two beautiful quiet places in the wood at its edge
in the west where I like drawing some spiritual refreshment
– Lesní pobožnost (the Austrian empress Elizabeth liked
spending her time there) and St. Leonhard with a mysterious ruin of a medieval church.
And what is your relation to the Grandhotel Pupp?
The Grandhotel Pupp is beautiful and has its genius loci, it is
a place where time seems to stop and where both your soul
and your body can relax. You can strongly feel the Golden
Age of Karlovy Vary of about 1900 here as well as the atmosphere of the Austro- Hungarian Empire. When I was a young
man, I liked going to different balls in the Pupp aiming to get
there – usually desperately and in vain – the favour of lovely
girls. And I wrote a lovely book about the Grandhotel Pupp
when I had become an elderly gentleman.
What message would you like to send to our readers?
Try to feel Karlovy Vary, watch it and taste it because it is
an exceptional town. To get to know it means to fall in love
with it. I am sure you will like coming back.
PhDr. Stanislav Burachovič ranks as one of important personalities of the region of Karlovy Vary. He is a historian of
the Museum of Karlovy Vary. He has published more than
50 books and 1,500 articles and studies on regional historiography of the Karlovy Vary region. A part of his practice
in the museum has been his cooperation on lots of permanent exhibitions with regional themes. He has organized
several international seminars and has taken part in the
preparation of numerous documentaries and radio programmes both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Burachovič´s lecture activities are very extensive as well.
He gave lectures on the history of Karlovy Vary and the
Karlovy Vary region in Germany, Austria and in the 1990s

V různých oblastech nabývá skotská whisky díky výrobní
technologii a používané vodě, rašelině i přírodním podmínkám různou chuť, vůni a barvu. Proto společnost The
Scotch Whisky Association stanovila v roce 1997 oficiální
oblasti výroby whisky.
The Lowlands
V této jižní části Skotska, která je na severu přibližně ohraničená spojnicí měst Dundee a Glasgow, je vyráběna malt
whisky jemná, lehká, suchá, s nádechem sladu. V různých
časových údobích zde legálně existovalo přes 300 palíren,
které z velké části produkovaly whisky třikrát pálenou.
Dnes jsou zde již jen 3 funkční palírny malt v čele s Auchen­
toshan a 6 palíren produkujících whisky obilnou.
The Highlands
V severní části Skotska (bez oblasti Speyside a ostrova
Islay) se vyrábí whisky plně aromatická, chuťově vyvážená,
se sladovým a rašelinným nádechem. Oblast je někdy dále
dělena na Northern Highlands, odkud pochází whisky
s jemně kořeněnou chutí jako např. Dalmore či Glen­
morangie, dále Eastern Higlands, kde se osud k palírnám
nezachoval příliš vstřícně a značná část je uzavřena,
a Pertshire, kde je řada palíren vyrábějících whisky výrazného charakteru. Oblast Vysočiny má dvě významné podoblasti – Islands a Campbeltown. V celé oblasti Vysočiny je
dnes asi 30 funkčních palíren.
- Islands
Podoblast je tvořena ostrovy Skye, Jura, Arran, Mull
a Orkney, na kterých je 6 palíren produkujících whisky říznou, ostrou, s rašelinovou vůní, slaností i chutí, ovlivněnou
blízkostí moře.
- Campbeltown
Toto město je historicky jedna z nejvýznamnějších oblastí výroby
whisky. Zde se vyrábí velmi výrazná whisky, blízká svým charakterem whisky ostrovní, jejímž typickým představitelem je
Springbank. První zmínky o zdejším pálení whisky pocházejí
z roku 1772. Koncem devatenáctého století zde bylo provozováno více jak 30 palíren. Byly to: Glenside, Highland, Da­laruan,
Kintyre, Hazelburn, Broombrae, Glen Scotia, Argyll, Albyn, Ben­
more, Lochruan, Lochhead, Dalintober, Rieclachan, Glengyle,

Speyside
Oblast se rozkládá v severovýchodní části Vysočiny, na
západě je ohraničená řekou

Deveron. Oblastí protékají

kde je soustředěna většina
známých palíren. Whisky zde
vyráběná je jedna z nejproslulejších, její chuť je pevná, čistá, jemná, delikátně vyvážená, s náznakem nasládlosti,
prolínají se v ní výrazné ovoc­
­né a medové podtóny. V oblasti je dnes bezmála 50 funkčních
palíren. Speyside je nejproduktivnější oblastí, její kapacita je
172 milionů litrů alkoholu, to je 60 % produkce.
Ostrov Islay
leží při jihozápadní části Vysočiny. Zdejší whisky je velmi
ostrá, výrazná, silně ovlivněná blízkostí moře, a tím se od
ostatních skotských značně liší. Vyznačuje se slanou a rašelinnou řízností s podtónem jodu z mořských řas, se silně
uzenými tóny. Je považována za jednu z chuťově nejvýraznějších (např. Lagavulin nebo Laphroaig). Whisky z Islay
mají také největší obsah fenolů. Zatímco běžné whisky mají
kolem 5 ppm, Bowmore kolem 20 ppm, Caol Ila 30 ppm,
Lagavulin a Laphroaig 40 ppm, Ardbeg až 50 ppm. Na ostrově je 9 palíren, z nichž Port Ellen je v současné době
mimo provoz. Kdysi jich zde bylo přes 20.

In verschiedenen Regionen gewinnt der schottische Whisky
dank der Herstellungstechnologien und dem benutzten
Wasser, dem Torf sowie dem Klima einen anderen
Geschmack, einen anderen Duft und eine andere Farbe.
Deshalb legte die Gesellschaft The Scotch Whisky
Association im Jahre 1997 die offiziellen Regionen der
Whiskyherstellung fest.
The Lowlands
In diesem südlichen Teil Schottlands, der im Norden ungefähr durch die Verbindungslinie der Städte Dundee
a Glasgow abgegrenzt ist, wird der Malt Whisky fein, leicht,
trocken, mit einem Malzbeigeschmack hergestellt. In verschiedenen Zeitabschnitten gab es hier rechtmäßig über
300 Brennereien, die größtenteils den dreimal gebrannten
Whisky herstellten. Heute gibt es hier bereits nur 3 Malt
Brennereien in Betrieb angeführt von Auchentoshan und
6 Brennereien, die den Getreidewhisky herstellen.
The Highlands
Im nördlichen Teil Schottlands (ohne dem Gebiet Speyside
und der Insel Islay) wird der Whisky voll aromatisch, mit
einem ausgewogenen Geschmack, mit Malz- und
Torfbeigeschmack hergestellt. Die Region teilt man manchmal weiter auf Northern Highlands, woher der Whisky mit
einem fein gewürzigen Geschmack kommt, wie z. B.
Dalmore oder Glenmorangie, weiter Eastern Higlands, wo
sich das Schicksal zu den Brennereien nicht sehr entgegenkommend verhielt und ein beträchtlicher Teil geschlossen
ist, und Pertshire, wo es eine Reihe von Brennereien gibt,
die einen Whisky von einem markanten Charakter herstellen. Das Hochlandgebiet hat zwei bedeutende Regionen
– Islands und Campbeltown. Im ganzen Hochlandgebiet
gibt es heute etwa 30 Brennereien in Betrieb.
- Islands
Die Region bilden die Inseln Skye, Jura, Arran, Mull und
Orkney, auf denen es 6 Brennereien gibt, die einen Whisky
herstellen, der derb, heftig und mit einem Torfaroma ist,
salzig sowie mit einem Geschmack, der durch die Nähe des
Meeres beeinflusst ist.

- Campbeltown
Diese Stadt ist historisch eine der bedeutendsten Regionen
der Whiskyherstellung. Hier erzeugt man einen sehr markanten Whisky, der mit seinem Charakter nah dem
Inselwhisky ist, dessen typischer Vertreter Springbank ist.
Die ersten Erwähnungen über das hiesige Whiskybrennen
stammen aus dem Jahre 1772. Ende des neunzehnten
Jahrhunderts wurden hier mehr 30 Brennereien betrieben.
Es waren: Glenside, Highland, Dalaruan, Kintyre, Hazel­
burn, Broombrae, Glen Scotia, Argyll, Albyn, Ben­more,
Lochruan, Lochhead, Dalintober, Rieclachan, Glengyle,
Glen Nevis, Meadowburn, Ardlussa, Campbeltown, Kin­
loch, Union, Lochside, Toberanright, Springbank, Longrow,
McKinnon‘s Argyll, Mossfield, Springside, Caledonian,
West Highland und Burnside.
Speyside
Das Gebiet erstreckt sich im nordöstlichen Teil des
Hochlands, im Westen ist es durch den Fluss Findhorn, im
Osten durch den Fluss Deveron begrenzt. Durch die Region
fließen weitere Flüsse, Lossie und Spey mit den Zuflüssen
Avon, Livet und Fiddich, wo sich die meisten bekannten
Brennereien befinden. Der hier produzierte Whisky ist einer der berühmtesten, sein Geschmack ist fest, rein, fein,
delikat ausgewogen, ein bisschen süßlich, es vermischen
sich in ihm markante Frucht- und Honig­untertöne. In der
Region gibt es heute fast 50 Brennereien in Betrieb.
Speyside ist das produktivste Gebiet, seine Kapazität ist
172 Millionen Liter Alkohol, das ist 60 % der Produktion.
Die Insel Islay
liegt bei dem südwestlichen Teil des Hochlands. Der hiesige
Whisky ist sehr heftig, markant, stark von der Nähe des
Meeres beeinflusst, und damit unterscheidet er sich deutlich
von den anderen Scotches. Er kennzeichnet sich mit einer
salzigen und torfigen Spritzigkeit mit einem Jodunterton aus
den Meeralgen, mit starken geräucherten Tönen. Er wird
für einen vom Geschmack her ausdruckvollsten Whisky
gehalten (z. B. Lagavulin oder Laphroaig). Die Whiskys
von Islay haben auch den größten Phenolgehalt. Indem die
üblichen Whiskys um die 5 ppm haben, Bowmore um die
20 ppm, Caol Ila 30 ppm, Lagavulin und Laphroaig
40 ppm, Ardbeg bis zu 50 ppm. Auf der Insel gibt es
9 Brennereien, von denen Port Ellen zurzeit außer Betrieb
ist. Einst waren es hier über 20.

WHERE SCOTCH WHISKY
GETS ITS TASTE...
Scotch whisky gains different distinctive tastes, aromas and
colours depending on technology, water, peat and natural
conditions used in different regions. That was why The
Scotch Whisky Association established official regions of
whisky production in 1997.
The Lowlands
Malt whisky produced in this southern part of Scotland,
whose northern border is created by a line connecting the
towns Dundee and Glasgow, is fine, light and dry, with
a touch of malt. There were more than 300 legal distilleries
here in different periods of time which mostly produced
whisky which was triple distilled. Today there are only
three functional malt distilleries headed by Auchentoshan
and six distilleries which produce grain whisky.
The Highlands
Whisky produced in the northern part of Scotland (without
the area of Speyside and the island of Islay) is well-balanced
with a full aroma and a touch of malt and peat. The region
is sometimes divided into the Northern Highlands, the ­home
of slightly spicy whiskies like Dalmore or Glenmorangie,
further into the Eastern Highlands, where most distilleries
have been closed up, and Pertshire with a number of distilleries producing whisky of a distinctive character. The
Highlands have got two important subregions – Islands and
Campbeltown. There are about 30 functional distilleries in
the whole region of the Highlands today.
- Islands
The subregion is made up of the islands of Skye, Jura,
Arran, Mull and Orkney with six distilleries which produce
strong, spicy whisky with an aroma of peat and whose salinity and taste are influenced by the nearby sea.
- Campbeltown
This town is historically one of the most important regions
connected with whisky production.
The whisky made here is of a very distinctive character and
resembles island whisky whose typical representative is
Springbank. The first records of whisky distilling date back
from 1772. More than 30 distilleries were run here in the
late 19th century. They were: Glenside, Highland, Dalaruan,
Kintyre, Hazelburn, Broombrae, Glen Scotia, Argyll, Albyn,
Benmore, Lochruan, Lochhead, Dalintober, Rieclachan,

Speyside
The region is situated in the north-eastern part of the
Highlands, the river Findhorn forms its border in the west
and the river Deveron in the east. Rivers Lossie and Spey
with their tributaries Avon, Livet and Fiddich flow through
this area where most famous distilleries are concentrated. The
whisky made here is one of the most famous, its taste is robust, pure, delicately balanced, slightly sweetish with subtones of fruit and honey. There are almost 50 functional distilleries in this region today. Speyside is the most productive
region, its capacity is 172 million litres of alcohol, i.e. 60 %
of total production.
The island Isley
It lies in the south-western
part of the Highlands. Local
whisky is very sharp on tongue, strongly influenced by
the sea in the neighbourhood
which makes it very different
from other Scotch whiskies.
Its outstanding feature is its
sea-salt and peat tang with
a subtone of iodine from sea­
weed and with strong smoky
tones. Its taste is considered
one of the most distinctive
(e.g. Lagavulin or Laphroaig).
Whiskies from Islay also
­have the highest amount of
phe­nols. While common
whis­kies have about 5 ppm,
Bowmore has about 20 ppm,

Český křišťálový lustr během svého dlouhého historického
vývoje prošel řadou změn a vylepšení, stále si však zachovává punc tradice, neboť se při jeho výrobě vždy čerpá z historických předloh.Typickým příkladem jsou tereziánské lustry. Vypadají už více než 150 let stejně, a vždy budou patřit
k nejkvalitnějším a nejreprezentativnějším. V naší hotelové
recepci se skví dvanáctiramenný tereziánský lustr z Ka­me­
nic­kého Šenova o úctyhodné šířce 2 metry a váze 200 kg.
Unikátní broušený lustr vyrobený na zakázku v roce 1979
pak mohou obdivovat hosté v Clubu Malá Dvorana.
Křišťálové lustry zůstávají symbolem hrdosti a znakem vytříbeného vkusu. Mají svoji duši, zejména pokud se jedná
o starožitné kusy. Při přestavbě hotelu na začátku 20. století nechali vídeňští architekti Fellner a Helmer ozdobit sloupy
nesoucí galerii ve Slavnostním sále lustry tepanými. Krása
ruční práce na nich bere dech. Nechte se unášet atmosférou
elegantních prostor a jedinečností detailů, které objevíte.

Strahlende Kristall
Die Kristallluster aus Böhmen waren bereits seit dem Beginn
des 18. Jahrhunderts eine ausgesuchte Ergänzung der Innen­
räume, die Paläste schmückten mit ihnen die bedeutendsten
europäischen Herrscher. Auch im exklusiven Milieu vom
Grandhotel Pupp können die traditionellen Luster nicht fehlen. Der tschechische Kristallluster kommt am besten empor,
falls er vollkommen mit dem Interieur abgestimmt ist – und

zu den qualitätsvolsten und repräsentativsten gehören. In unserer Hotelempfangshalle prunkt ein zwölfarmiger TheresienLuster aus Kamenický Šenov (Steinschönau) von einer respektablen Breite von 2 Metern und einem Gewicht von
200 kg. Einen einmaligen geschliffenen Luster, im Auftrag im
Jahre 1979 hergestellt, kann man dann im Club Malá
Dvorana bewundern.
Die Kristallluster bleiben ein Hochmutssymbol und ein
Zeichen des raffinierten Geschmackes. Sie haben ihre
Seele, vor allem dann, wenn es sich um altertümliche
Stücke handelt. Während des Hotelumbaus zu Beginn des
20. Jahrhunderts ließen die Wiener Architekten Fellner und
Helmer die Säulen, die die Galerie im Festsaal tragen, mit
ziselierten Luster schmücken. Die Schönheit dieser Hand­
arbeit ist atemberaubend. Lassen Sie sich von der Atmo­
sphäre der eleganten Räumlichkeiten und von der Ein­malig­
keit der Details hinreisen, die Sie entdecken. Das Grandhotel
Pupp kann mit ihnen prunken, in einer originellen Durch­
führung, die bis zu den heutigen Tagen bewahrt blieb.

Theresian chandelier from Kamenický Šenov which is
2 me­tres wide and weighs 200 kg at our reception. Guests
in the Small Hall Club can admire a unique cut chandelier
which was made to order in 1979.
Crystal chandeliers remain symbols of pride and signs of sophisticated tastes. They have their souls, especially the antique ones. When the hotel was being rebuilt in the early 20th
century, the Viennese architects Fellner and Helmer had the
columns supporting the gallery in the Festive Hall decorated
with beaten chandeliers. The beauty of the handwork is breathtaking. Let the atmosphere of the elegant rooms and the
uniqueness of the details you will discover carry you away.

Shining Crystal
Crystal chandeliers from Bohemia became a popular interior accessory in the early 18th century already. The most
important European rulers bought them to decorate their
palaces with them. Traditional chandeliers cannot therefore
miss in the exclusive milieu of the Grandhotel Pupp.
A Czech crystal chandelier comes to the fore the best when
it perfectly goes with the interior – and we have exactly 411
pieces of them in the rooms, lounges and corridors of the
Grandhotel Pupp.

Depardieu
Velký herecký talent, milovník života, žen a dobrého vína.
Objevil se v patnácti divadelních hrách, ale jeho doménou
je svět filmu. V současné době je nejobsazovanějším francouzským hercem. Jeho filmografie obsahuje více jak 180
titulů. Kvůli své vysněné roli siláka Obelixe musel přibrat
dvacet kilogramů.
Dočkal se celé řady prestižních ocenění. Již v mládí získal
cenu Gérarda Philipa (1973). Devětkrát byl nominován na
Césara, z toho dvakrát byl úspěšný. Prvního Césara má z roku 1980 za film Le dernier métro (Poslední metro, r. Francois
Trufaut). Druhého obdržel za postavu Cyrana z Bergeracu ve
filmu Jeana-Paula Rappeneaua Cyrano de Bergerac (1990).
Film měl velký ohlas u diváků i kritiky a Depardieu za něj
získal nominaci na Oscara i cenu pro nejlepšího herce na
festivalu v Cannes. Na přelomu tisíciletí získal Evropskou filmovou cenu (1998). Jako režisér debutoval v r. 1984 komedií Tartuffe. Působí také jako filmový producent. Nedávno
prohlásil, že zřejmě definitivně pověsí herectví na hřebík
a bude se věnovat jen svým zálibám, což jistě nevydrží...
V roce 1998, ve svých padesáti letech, natáčel Depardieu
v Karlových Varech film Honoré de Balzac. Ve dvoudílném
filmu francouzské televize TF1 hrál titulní roli. V roce 2005
přijel s filmovým štábem do Karlových Varů natáčet scény
svěží komedie Last Holiday (Poslední prázdniny). Film se
z velké části odehrává v Grandhotelu Pupp a jeho filmovém
okolí. „To je ono místo, kde chci natáčet,“ prohlásil režisér
filmu Wayne Wang, když uviděl nasvícený Grandhotel
Pupp. Depardieu jako Didier, šéf slavného karlovarského
hotelu, byl neodolatelný.
Filmwelt. Zurzeit ist er der meist besetzte französische
Schauspieler. Seine Filmografie beinhaltet mehr als 180
Titel. Wegen seiner Traumrolle des starken Obelix musste
er zwanzig Kilo zunehmen.
Er bekam zahlreiche namhafte Preise. Schon in der
Jugend erhielt er den Gérard Philip Preis (1973).
Neunmal wurde er auf den César nominiert, davon war
er zweimal erfolgreich. Den ersten César hat er aus dem
Jahre 1980 für den Film Le dernier métro (Die letzte
Metro, regiert von Francois Truffaut). Den Zweiten er­
hielt er für die Rolle des Cyrano von Bergerac im Film
von Jean-Paul Rappeneau Cyrano de Bergerac (1990).
Der Film hatte ein großes Feedback bei den Zuschauern
sowie den Kritikern und Depardieu bekam für diese
Rolle eine Oscarnominierung sowie den Preis für den
besten Schauspieler am Festival in Cannes. Um die
Wende des Jahrtausends erhielt er den Europäischen
Filmpreis (1998). Als Regisseur führte er sich im Jahre
1984 mit der Komödie Tartuffe ein. Er wirkt auch als
Filmproduzent. Vor Kurzem verkündigte er, dass er wahrscheinlich definitiv mit der Schauspielerei aufhört und
sich nur seinen Hobbys widmen wird, was er sicher
nicht aushalten wird ...

Im Jahre 1998, als er fünfzig war, drehte Depardieu in
Karlsbad den Film Honoré de Balzac. Im zweiteiligen Film
des französischen Fernsehens TF 1 spielte er die Titelrolle.
Im Jahre 2005 kam er mit dem Filmstab nach Karlsbad die
Szenen der munteren Komödie Last Holiday (Noch einmal
Ferien) drehen. Der Film spielt sich größtenteils im
Grandhotel Pupp und in seiner Filmumgebung ab. „Das ist
die jene Stelle, wo ich drehen möchte,“ sagte der Regisseur
des Filmes Wayne Wang, als er das beleuchtete Grandhotel
Pupp sah. Depardieu als Didier, der Chef des berühmten
Karlsbader Hotels, war unwiderstehlich.

domain is film. At present, he is the most popular French
actor who has appeared in a number of different films made
all over the world. He has acted in more than 180 films. He
had to gain twenty kilogrammes to get his dream part of the
muscleman Obelix.
He has got a number of prestigious awards. Being a young
actor, he was awarded the Gérard Philip Prize in 1973. He
has been nominated for a César nine times and has won it
twice. He got his first César for the film The Last Metro
(director Francois Trufaut) in 1980 and the second one for
the character of Cyrano of Bergerac in the film of the same

VŘÍDELNÍ
kolonáda
Vřídelní kolonáda ochraňuje nejslavnější karlovarský pramen, skutečný přírodní gejzír, který tryská z hloubky kolem
dvou tisíc metrů o teplotě 72-73 °C. Z nitra země se každou
minutu vychrlí dva tisíce litrů léčivé vody. Páry z Vřídla
prospívají dýchacím cestám, posedět ke gejzíru chodí na
doporučení lékařů i český exprezident Václav Havel.
Současná podoba Vřídelní kolonády pochází z let 19711975. Byla postavena podle projektu Jaroslava Otruby jako
přemostění říčky Teplé. Nahradila dřevěnou provizorní kolonádu z roku 1939. Do té doby zde stála výstavná litinová
kolonáda z roku 1879 z dílny vídeňských architektů Fer­di­
nanda Fellnera a Hermanna Helmera. Byla však demontována a materiál byl použit k válečným účelům. Připomíná
ji jen nepatrné torzo, které najdeme poblíž slunečních hodin
na prostranství před kolonádou. U vchodu z Divadelního
náměstí nás zaujme obelisk sochaře Pavla Opočenského
nazvaný Pocta Stanislavu Libenskému, jehož skleněné objekty zdobí interiér kolonády. V promenádní hale je několik

vřídelních vývěrů upravených k pitné kúře na různou teplotu. Najdeme zde i informační stánek a obchody s keramikou, oplatky, pohledy a průvodci, také kavárnu a výstavu
uměleckého skla. Na ochozu Vřídelní kolonády se rovněž
konají různé výstavy. Hale vévodí Hygeia, socha bohyně
zdraví a čistoty. Můžeme navštívit i podzemní prostory kolonády, kde se dozvíme, odkud Vřídlo pramení a jak vřídelní voda dokáže pomocí minerálních sedimentů zakrátko
vytvořit karlovarský suvenýr - zkamenělou růžičku.

auch der tschechische Expräsident Václav Havel weilen.
Die derzeitige Sprudelkolonnade stammt aus den Jahren
1971-1975. Sie wurde nach dem Projekt von Jaroslav Otruba
als Überbrückung des Flusses Tepl erbaut. Sie ersetzte die
hölzerne vorläufige Kolonnade aus dem Jahre 1939. Bis zu
diesem Jahr stand hier eine ansehnliche Gusseisenkolonnade
aus dem Jahre 1879 aus dem Atelier der Wiener Architekten
Ferdinand Fellner und Hermann Helmer. Sie wurde jedoch
abgebaut und das Material wurde zu Kriegszwecken genutzt.
An sie erinnert nur ein unscheinbares Bruchstück, das man
in der Nähe der Sonnenuhr am Platz vor der Kolonnade
findet. Am Eingang vom Theaterplatz (Divadelní náměstí)
fesselt uns der Obelisk vom Bildhauer Pavel Opočenský genannt Ehrung von Stanislav Libenský, dessen Glasobjekte die
Innenräume der Kolonnade schmücken. In der Pro­me­naden­
halle gibt es einige Sprudelquellen zur Trinkkur auf verschiedene Temperaturen angepasst. Man findet hier auch einen
Infostand und Geschäfte mit Keramik, Oblaten, Ansichts­
karten und Reiseführern, auch ein Café und eine künstlerische Glasausstellung. Auf der Galerie der Sprudelkolonnade
finden verschiedene Ausstellungen statt. In der Halle dominiert die Hygeia, eine Statue der Göttin der Gesundheit und
der Reinheit. Man kann auch die unterirdischen Räum­
lichkeiten der Kolonnade besuchen, wo man erfährt, woher
der Sprudel entspringt und wie das Sprudelwasser mithilfe
der Mineraliensedimente in kurzer Zeit ein Karlsbader
Souvenir schaffen kann – die versteinerte Rose.
Jaroslav Otruba. It replaced the provisional wooden colonnade from the year 1939. Until that time, a well- built castiron colonnade dating from 1879 had stood there. It had
been designed by the Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner
und Hermann Helmer. However, it had been dismantled
and the material had been used to war purposes. There is
still a small part left of it in the neighbourhood of the sundial in front of the colonnade. The obelisk by the sculptor
Pavel Opočenský will attract your attention at the entrance
from Theatre Square. The work is called A Tribute to
Stanislav Libenský (the artist whose glass objects decorate
the interior of the colonnade). There are several mineral
water outlets in the hall. The temperature of water in them
has been adapted so that the water can be used in drinking
cure. You can find here an information stand and shops
selling spa wafers, picture postcards and guide books, a café and also an art glass exhibition. Various exhibitions are
also mounted on the gallery of the Sprudel Colonnade. The
hall is dominated by Hygeia, the statue of the goddess of
health and cleanliness. You can also go to see the under­
ground rooms under the colonnade where you will learn
where the Sprudel springs and how mineral water is able to
create the petrified rose – a Karlovy Vary souvenir – by
means of mineral sediments and in a very short time.

KOLEM KOSTELŮ
A CHRÁMŮ
Naše zimní vycházka nás zavede k zajímavým stavbám, ale
může mít i hluboký duchovní rozměr. V Karlových Varech je
celkem devět kostelů. Navštívíme ty v lázeňské části města.
Od Grandhotelu Pupp přejdeme most k Císařským lázním,
za nimiž uvidíme Evangelický kostel sv. Petra a Pavla.
Byl postaven v letech 1854-1856 v neorománském stylu
s prvky gotiky a renesance (arch. G. Hein). V roce 1865
byla přistavena věž a zbudována fara (arch. J. Zeissig).
Vrátíme se Mariánskolázeňskou ulicí do centra lázní - na
Divadelní náměstí a dále ke Vřídlu. Nad ním se vypíná
nejcennější církevní památka města, chrám sv. Máří
Magdalény. Je ukázkou stavitelství vrcholného baroka
v Čechách. Byl postaven v letech 1732-1736 podle plánů
pražského architekta Kiliána Ignáce Dienzenhofera.
Obejdeme Vřídelní kolonádu a kolem barokního trojičného
sloupu vystoupáme na Zámecký vrch ke kostelíku sv.
Lukáše s jehlancovou věží. Stavba vychází z romantického
pojetí anglické neogotiky s typickým využitím neomítnutého režného zdiva. Kostel byl postaven v letech 1876-1877
(arch. J. Mothes).
Pokračujeme ulicí Petra Velikého kolem lázeňských hotelů
Bristol a Savoy Westend až k parku Malé Versailles.
Nacházíme se v luxusní lázeňské čtvrti Westend a již zdáli
vidíme zářit zlaté báně pravoslavného kostela sv. Petra
a Pavla. Stavba v klasickém rusko-byzantském slohu byla
dokončena v roce 1897 (arch. G. Wiedermann - podle
vzoru byzantsko-staroruského kostela v Ostankinu u Mos­k­
vy). Od kostela se vrátíme za roh do Sadové třídy, abychom
viděli i druhou stranu chrámu. Zde se nachází reliéf sochaře

Sadovou třídou sejdeme až na malé náměstíčko s pomníkem připomínajícím zmizelou židovskou synagogu. Byla
v roce 1938 zničena nacisty. Na jejím místě stojí jedna
z budov lázeňského komplexu Bristol.
Sejdeme na dolní konec Sadové třídy až k Sadové kolonádě
a odsud se proti proudu říčky Teplé vrátíme po promenádách až ke Grandhotelu Pupp.

AN DEN KIRCHEN
UND DEN GOTTESHÄUSERN VORBEI
Unser Winterspaziergang führt uns zu den interessanten
Gebäuden, aber er kann auch eine tiefe geistige Dimension
haben. In Karlsbad gibt es insgesamt neun Kirchen. Wir
besuchen die im Kurviertel.
Am Grandhotel Pupp gehen wir über die Brücke zum
Kaiserbad, hinter dem man die Evan­­gelische Peter und
Paul Kirche sieht. Sie wurde in den Jahren 1854-1856 im
neuromanischen Stil mit Spuren der Gotik und Renaissance
(Arch. G. Hein) erbaut. Im Jahre 1865 wurde der Turm
angebaut und die Pfarrei errichtet (Arch. J. Zeissig).
Wir gehen auf der Marienbader Straße (Mariánskolázeňská)
ins Kurzentrum zurück – zum Theaterplatz (Divadelní náměstí) und weiter zum Sprudel. Über ihm erhebt sich die
wertvollste kirchliche Sehenswürdigkeit der Stadt, die
Maria Magdalena Kirche. Sie ist ein Beispiel für die Bau­

kunst des Hochbarocks in Böhmen. Sie wurde in den
Jahren 1732-1736 nach Plänen des Prager Architekten
Kilian Ignaz Dienzenhofer erbaut.
Wir umgehen die Sprudelkolonnade und entlang der barocken
Dreifaltigkeitssäule steigen wir auf den Schlossberg zur
Hl. Lukas Kirche mit einem pyramidenartigen Turm. Der
Bau ergeht aus der romantischen Auffassung der englischen
Neugotik mit dem typischen unverputzten rohen Mauerwerk.
Die Kirche wurde in den Jahren 1876-1877 erbaut (Arch.
J. Mothes).
Wir gehen weiter die Straße Peter des Großen entlang der
Kurhotels Bristol und Savoy Westend bis zum Park Klein
Versailles. Wir befinden uns im luxuriösen Kurviertel
Westend und schon von weitem sieht man die goldenen
Kuppeln der orthodoxen Hl. Peter und Paul Kirche
glänzen. Der Bau im klassischen russisch-byzantinischen
Stil wurde im Jahre 1897 beendet (Arch. G. Wiedermann
– nach Vorbild der byzantinisch-altrussischen Kirche in
Ostankino bei Moskau). Von der Kirche kehren wir um die
Ecke in die Parkstraße (Sadová), um auch die andere Seite
des Domes zu sehen. Hier befindet sich das Relief des
Bildhauers M. Hiller, das den russischen Zaren Peter I. bei
dem Bau des Hauses Zum Pfau im Jahre 1711 darstellt.
Durch die Sadová Straße gehen wir bis zu einem kleinen
Platz mit einem Denkmal, das an die verschwundene jüdische Synagoge erinnert. Im Jahre 1938 wurde sie von
den Nazis zerstört. An ihrer Stelle steht heute eines der
Gebäude vom Kurkomplex Bristol.
Wir gehen zum unteren Ende der Sadová Straße bis zur
Parkkolonnade und von hier aus kehren wir stromaufwärts
des Flusses Tepl auf den Promenaden bis zum Grandhotel
Pupp zurück.

We will go past the Sprudel Colonnade and the Baroque
Trinity Column and go up the Castle Hill to see the
St. Lucas Church with a pyramid-shaped roof. It is a romantic building in the style of English neo-gothic with typical raw masonry. The church was built between 1876 and
1877 (architect J. Mothes).
And we will go on along Petra Velikého Street past the spa
hotels Bristol and Savoy Westend as far as the Park Small
Versailles. Now we are in the luxury spa part of the town
called Westend and can see the golden cupolas of the
St. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church from
a distance. The building in the classical Russian and
Byzantine style was completed in 1897 (architect G. Wie­der­
mann, according to a Byzantine and Old Russian church in
Ostankino near Moscow). We will go back behind the corner to Sadová Street to see the other side of the church too.
There is a relief by M. Hiller here which depicts the Russian
czar Peter I helping to build the Peacock House in 1711.
We will go down Sadová Street and will come to a small
square remembering the destroyed Jewish synagogue. It
was destroyed by the Nazis in 1938. One of the buildings
of the Bristol spa complex stands in its place now.
Finally we will go to the lower end of Sadová Street and as
far as the Park Colonnade. From here, we will walk upstream the Teplá River and back to the Grandhotel Pupp.

PAST CHURCHES AND CATHEDRALS
Our winter walk will take us to interesting buildings but it
can also have a deep spiritual dimension. There are altogether nine churches in Karlovy Vary. We will go to see those
standing in the spa district. We will start at the Grandhotel
Pup and cross a bridge leading to the Imperial Spa Building.
The Evangelical St. Peter and Paul Church stands behind the Imperial Spa Building. It was built in the NeoRomanesque style with gothic and Renaissance elements
during the years 1854 – 1856 (architect G.Hein). A tower
and a vicarage were added in 1865 (architect J. Zeissig).
Then we will go along Mariánskolázeňská Street back to the
spa centre – to Theatre Square and to the Sprudel. The most

Urazajev besichtigen. Die meisten seiner Bilder sind in Privatsammlungen auf der ganzen Welt. Weiter arbeitet er mit den Galerien in Chicago, Zürich und in Prag zusammen.

we decided to change it and to offer
you a smaller size which would fit your
handbag or pocket better. You expressed your opinions of the change in
a survey in letters, e-mails and messages in the course of the whole year. We
read them all carefully and kept them

18th. All responses to the smaller size,
with one exception, were positive. You
welcomed the change and you like both the layout of the magazine and the
