The premise of clip is that Steve is in an unfamiliar setting and needs to know about
the wild fauna of the Czech Republic (more specifically the Jizera Mountains) and
learns through the Professor and student´s in put about habitat ranges and simple
biological terms and classifications. Such as predators, carnivores and herbivores,
nocturnal and diurnal creates.
While Steve is in his forest shelter he becomes worried that there could be a bear
outside. The professor soon puts him right by showing that the habitat range of
European bears doesn´t include Jizerske hory. As he discusses other animals
(ranging from a mouse to wild bear) the professor and Steve use comparatives,
which are later highlighted to the students in the professor´s closing activity and
accompanying handout (see below).

Check if the students know why it isn´t a deer outside. Ask “Why can´t it be a deer?”
Because deers are nocturnal, they sleep at night and they are Herbivores, they don´t
eat meat/salami.
To re-enforce and check all the students understand the concept of nocturnal,
herbivore, carnivore and omnivore elicit some other nocturnal animals from the
students.
They don´t have to be animals from the Czech Republic then repeat for the other
biological terms.

answers and see why Steve is not lost anymore.

Watch (and record on the board if needed) the professor´s explanation of using
adjectives then at the end of the clip give the students the handout which practices
using adjectives.
Přírodopis – Funny Forest
Steve se dostal do neznámého prostředí v Jizerských horách a rád by se něco
dověděl o fauně České republiky a speciálně o fauně Jizerských hor. Prostřednictvím
profesorových vstupů se dovídá o přirozeném prostředí živočichů a základní
přírodovědné termíny a klasifikace, jako např. predátor, masožravec, býložravec,
noční a denní živočichové (predator, carnivore, herbivore, nocturnal and diurnal
creatures).
Steve se si z větví postavil malý úkryt v lese a zatímco se smráká, bojí se, aby na něj
nepřišel medvěd. Profesor mu ukazuje, že Jizerské hory nejsou přirozeným
prostředím pro medvěda. Když diskutují o dalších zvířatech, profesor a Steve
používají 2. stupeň přídavných jmen, což žáci následně procvičují v doprovodné
aktivitě a na pracovním listě.

dovíme.
Závěr
Profesor vysvětluje používání přídavných jmen a jejich stupňování. Rozdáme žákům
pracovní list, kde si procvičují přídavná jména.
